Story 6
"Hi Coraline," Erin said, looking up from her wood carving.
"Hey Erin, what's with the arrows?" I relied, crouching down next to her.
"I don't know, just felt like going medieval, you know. Kinda cool," she said.
"Gosh I don't know Erin," I said, straightening my windswept hair and placing my beanie back on my head.
She glared at me half-heartedly.
"But if that's what you want, go for it!" I added quickly. "Just don't forget to make a bow."
She chuckled and I walked off in search of something to do.
Robin jogged up to me looking rather startled.
"Are you alright Robin?" I asked.
"Yes I'm fine, but you might want to come..." he trailed off. "Just follow me."
"Ok, I guess," I muttered as he jogged off again.
We jogged along in the forest for about an hour before Robin started slowing down. He stopped as we came close to the edge of a cliff. He dropped into an army crawl position and wriggled his way to the edge. I followed suit and peered over the edge of the cliff. I expected to see something strange and otherworldly, something related to the Vampires. What I saw was exactly what I expected, just...stranger.
"What is that?" I stared in horror at the horrible lake of blood, with deep red liquid that seemed to slowly fill more and more. The crimson liquid sloshed in the large crater like a bowl of water being jogged on the table. Wherever the blood landed, dark stains began spreading through the dirt and turning brown, blending in with the dark soil. And worst of all, Vampires crowded around the lake, leaping in and wallowing in the blood like it was bathwater. The Vampires standing on dry land formed circles around little Vampire catfights, jeering and slashing at the fighting beasts. The fight only ended when one of the two Vampires where ripped to bloody shreds, their blood seeping into the dirt and their pale skin ripped.
"How can anything so brutal and horrible live on this Earth? They're fighting each other like enemies." I asked, gasping with the horror of what I had seen. My eyes shifted to the outskirts of the plain around the lake, where Vampires attacked humans tied to poles.
"Ok, let's go back before the others start to worry." I stood up to leave, hoping Robin would buy the excuse to head back before I puked in disgust.
"I told the others that we'd be away," he replied without looking up. "Why are you so eager to back?"
"Why are you so eager to stay?"I retorted hotly.
He looked at me suspiciously and I had to struggle not to squirm.
"Why do you look so guilty?"Then a look of understanding flitted across his face.
I stepped toward him, smiling coldly, as the truth dawned on him. "I think you already know."
"You traitor," he hissed.
"Doing what I can to keep myself alive. Sorry Robin, you're no use to me anymore. See you in hell," I shoved him off the cliff toward the snapping, snarling Vampires below, knowing he would feel no pain as the fall would kill him before the Vampires ever could. I turned away and walked back to camp. What a story this would be for the others to hear. Of course there would be no harm done if they didn't know I killed him.
AHAHAHA THE MOMENT YOU REALISE THE MAIN CHARACTER IS A BLOODTHIRSTY BACKSTABBING MURDERING COLDHEARTED TRAITOR WHO ACTUALLY DOESN'T REALLY CARE ABOUT THE SURVIVAL OF THE HUMAN RACE. GOOD LUCK TRUSTING THE OTHER CHARACTERS. AND IF ANY OF YOU ARE SMART ENOUGH(not meant to offend)I DROPPED HINTS IN THE LAST CHAPTER THAT LINK INTO THE START OF THIS CHAPTER. I'LL LET YOU FIND THEM.
Sorry if you hate Coraline now.
:)
