"W-what do you mean Rose?" Karkat asked, being more quiet than usual. I grabbed his arm. "These. I thought you stopped." I told him, pointing at the small cuts. "Oh. I know... I was in my rose bush yesterday. The other ones are from awhile ago." He said looking me in the eyes. He does this whenever he tells the truth. It is believable. He loves gardening, and he has a large rose bush in his front yard he tends to a lot. And I forgot that Kanaya borrowed his gloves for her herb garden. So I believed him. "Ok. I believe you. Just don't let Nepeta see. She will worry." I told him. "And why we're you holding hands with Nepeta?" I asked looking through the cupboards. "She grabbed my hand after getting out of the car." He said, yet again looking me in the eye. Dangit. "What about how you were by the tv when you fell asleep, and next to Nepeta on the opposite end of the room when we woke up? Huh?" I asked him with a smirk. "I-I, I, I was cold..." He replied without looking me in the eye. He was blushing and focusing on the amount of vegetable oil he had to put in the pot. "Yeah. Right." I smirked. I started slicing the apples for the mini Apple fritters I was making. Karkat was just heating up the oil. He then he looked up at me and said, "I need to tell you something."

Karkats POV

"I need to tell you something." I said looking at Rose. She and I have been friends for quite awhile, so I trust her. She looked up from the cutting board. "Yes?" "You have to promise not to tell anyone." "I promise, Karkat." "Well, umm, im flushed for, N-Nepeta. And I have been for awhile. I haven't told her because I didn't want to be rejected." It felt good to say that. "What about the pool incident?" She asked looking back to her knifework. "Well, I told her I was messing around with her. She looked at me for a minute and told me that everyone makes mistakes. I felt so upset." I told her looking into her eyes. "Well, I don't think you will be too disappointed." She smiled looking back at me.

Roses POV

I looked at his cuts again. It reminded me of that one day....

I walked into Nepetas room. She was crying. She cut her long hair into a short bob. She had cuts up and down her arms. I remember asking her what happened. She told me she saw Karkat and Terezi kissing.  She didn't know at the time that they were kissmeisiss. I didn't know either. She told me she wanted to die. She had cut her hair so it was like Terezis. She cut herself from the sorrow. I sat down next to her, and cried with her. She doesn't cut anymore, but she has permanent scars, so she wears the long green trench coat that she does.

Was I going to tell Karkat that? No, I wasn't. He wouldn't forgive himself. Then Kanaya and Nepeta walked in the door with the ingredients.
