After cutting through the goblins with Thorin and Dwalin, Alenia turned back towards the abandoned keep on the other side of the frozen river.

"They've been gone too long." she said, looking over her shoulder at Thorin. "I'm going after them."

"Be careful." the dwarf warned, and Alenia nodded before she set off across the icy surface.

She ducked underneath a huge fallen stone, and glanced up at the keep, watching for any movement. Alenia took a deep breath, before she sprinted as quietly as she could to the other side of the ice, before pressing her back against the rocky face behind her, her arrows clicking against each other in her quiver.

Spying an outcropping above her, Alenia turned onto her belly and began to climb upwards, latching onto ledges and jumping off of the few rocks that weren't icy. Pulling herself up and onto the stone platform, she looked up once more, before she ran and leaped to grab onto another landing. The Ranger kicked her legs out, and pushed off of the wall beside her to give her enough of a boost to scramble to her knees on the next platform.

Alenia panted quietly, before standing to look around once more. She moved to climb to the next platform, but froze behind an outcropping, as a single drumbeat echoed through Ravenhill.

Glancing out around the wall, she watched in horror as Azog appeared on a stone balcony on her upper left, dragging a beaten and bloody Fili behind him.

Quietly slinging her bow off of her back, and nocking an arrow, she edged her foot just beyond the wall she was hiding behind, angling it for a better pivot.

"This one dies first. Then the brother." Azog shouted, and Alenia assumed he was glaring down at Thorin, with the worst smirk imaginable plastered onto his face. "Then you, Oakenshield. And then I will find that bitch of a half-elf and end her too."

As Fili let out a choked, "no," Alenia rushed out from her hiding spot behind a wall, releasing her bowstring in a single motion. The arrow implanted itself in Azog's side, causing him to let go of Fili with a cry of pain.

Causing Fili to drop right over the edge of the balcony.

"Shit." Alenia muttered, before leaping into the air after the dwarf. She whipped out her sword, stabbing it into the rock face, as she grabbed ahold of Fili's outstretched hand, straining to hold onto both.

"I've got you." She grunted, as the elven blade bit into the cliff, shards of rock spraying everywhere, as they approached the ground at a slightly slower speed than before. To a speed just slow enough that they could roll to a stop while hitting the ground to minimize the damage.

Azog's roar of fury echoed throughout Ravenhill, as the pair ducked underneath the stone of the keep, hiding from the orkish archers above them.

"Kill them all." Azog shouted.

"Where's Kee?" Alenia asked, glancing around.

"I don't know, I sent him down to the lower levels." Fili said, wincing as he sat up. Alenia looked over at him, and saw he was holding onto his left arm tightly with his opposite hand, and streams of blood were starting to seep through the fabric of his shirt.

"Are you okay?"

"Am I fine?" Fili repeated, chuckling softly. "Yes, I'm fine. Ally, you literally just saved from being skewered by the ugliest bastard Middle Earth has ever know. I'll be alright."

"It wouldn't have been a nice way to go." the half-elf agreed.

"Aye. Now, will you please stop talking so we can go find your boyfriend before he gets himself killed?"

Alenia shook her head, before saying, "You're staying here. You're out of sight, and you can still throw your blades at anyone who gets too close."

Fili opened his mouth to protest, but she gave him a stern look before running back into Ravenhill to find Kili.

She ducked under a stone arch, before sprinting up a set of stairs. An orc rushed at her from the shadows, and Alenia parried it's blow before slicing it's head off. "Kili!"

The sound of clashing blades rang out from above her, and Alenia shouted again, "Kili!"

The ringing of metal continued to sound above her before Kili shouted back, "Alenia!"

She began to turn to head up a crumbling staircase near her, but as she did, Bolg slammed into her back, knocking her to the ground. The orc swung his huge mace downward at the Ranger, who rolled out of the way just in time.

In a single motion, Alenia pulled a knife from her boot and sliced Bolg's leg, before leaping to her feet and drawing her sword. The orc grinned wickedly before the two crashed their weapons against each other, elven steel ringing against orkish black iron.

She pulled her sword back, rotating to strike lower, but Bolg redirected his mace to knock the blade out of her hand, leaving the Ranger weaponless for a brief moment.

With a single sweep of his mace, Alenia was tossed into the air to crash into the floor nearby, groaning.

Bolg stalked towards the fallen half-elf, and lifted her by the throat. Alenia drove a knee into his stomach, releasing his hold for a moment, just for him to quickly toss her against a stone wall nearby.

The orc raised his mace once more to try and smash it into the half-elf's body, but Kili leaped down from above to perch on his back. Alenia staggered to her feet, reaching for her other knife in her boot, as the dwarf slashed downwards with his sword, slicing a gash across the orc's armored chest.

One of Bolg's thrashing arms knocked Kili off, and as the orc advanced on him, Alenia gave up trying to pull the knife, and jumped onto his back, trying to wrap her arms around his neck in a chokehold.

As the orc threw her off once again, Alenia's eyes met Kili's, and a sense of despair came over her. She couldn't get up again in time, as Bolg lifted her dwarf's body in one hand, and his pointed mace in the other. She couldn't do anything to stop the mace from lowering closer to her dwarf's chest, where it would pierce his body, and kill him.

But Fili could.

As the golden-haired dwarven prince appeared from behind a crumbling stone wall, sending a knife whipping through the air, which knock Bolg back, and released his hold on Kili, just before the weapon did it's job.

Alenia let out a choked gasp of relief. She rushed to her feet, scooping up her sword, as she ran towards the orc, raising it above her head with a battle-cry.

She launched herself at the orc, grappling with him until she kicked off of a chunk of stone nearby, and sent them both toppling over the edge of Ravenhill.
