"Great. Thanks, Lord Elrond." Alenia said, as he finished patching her up. A few muttered healing spells, stitches, and a bandage and she was as good as new.

"It was my pleasure," the Elf Lord said. "But I will not be there to save you next time. So try to stay safe until your quest is complete. Your magic alone may not be enough to save you."

"Will do, chief."

Elrond shook his head in amusement. "Dinner is being served on the veranda. Please don't come in one of your training uniforms. Not a dress, but something nice."

She scowled. "At least you're not forcing me to wear a dress."

"I learned my lesson last time," Lord Elrond chuckled. "I do not want another half-elf running around in a torn and muddy dress due to an interest in wrestling with Estel."

Alenia smiled at that.

When Alenia showed up to dinner, dressed in a nicer tunic, some leggings, and boots, all Kili could do was stare. Fili was amused, "You know, usually if you fancy someone, you go up and talk to them."

"She has someone else." Kili muttered.

"Who? Whoever Estel is?" Fili retorted, shaking his head. "You know nothing of their relationship. They could just be friends."

Kili sighed. "I'll talk to her after dinner."

Fili rolled his eyes at his brother's stubbornness.

Alenia made her way over to the brothers before she plopped down in between them on the bench.

"Elvish medicine is really something." She commented, before piling a giant heap of the leaves and veggies that the other dwarves were avoiding, and digging in.

She paused for a moment, her mouth full of spinach, as she looked up at the other dwarves. "What?" Alenia asked.

"You're eating the greens." Fili said, stating the obvious.

The half elf sighed dramatically, before grasping her pointed ears and showing them to everyone. "You forget I'm half-elf."

She stood up, before retorting a few last words, "And you all are bloody weird."

The dwarves rolled their eyes and smiled.

She grinned before moving towards Lord Elrond's table, where Thorin and Gandalf were also sitting.

"Yep. It's definitely love," Fili said, watching in amusement as his brother stared after her.

The other dwarves roared with laughter.

a/n: 

super short filler chapter. next chapter will be out on tuesday, and my goal for this weekend is to finish writing this book in order to have it ready for y'all at future updates. i might even start on book two if i'm super on top of things, as i really only have to write two more chapters before i'm done with book one.
