Greenwich, February 15th 2016

After posting the auditions panflets in the hallways of the university, I finally find Ryder.

But he looks sad, he has frown eyebrows. He looks so out of place.

I ask him what's up with him and he tells me his short film isn't going well.

He tells me he doesn't have any idea on how to turn his script into something real.

I told him I could help him. He hesitated since I was helping Sam and be part of Sam's short film.

I said that I could help both of them.

We just would have to schedule the auditions in days that won't collide.

I don't want to ruin their final projects.

I don't have classes today.

So I told Ryder that Sam would like to open the auditions today and we will be hearing some people.

In a room of the university that was rented by Sam, we're waiting for people to audition.

No one has appeared and it's been like one hour. Sam is losing is faith.

Ryder – Is anyone actually going to show up?

Jordan – Please don't be rude. We're all waiting.

Jordan – Of course somebody will show up.

Sam - Yes, Jordan's right.

Jonathan walks in.

Jordan – Oh well this is starting good.

Sam (mumbling) – Stop it Jordan.

Sam – Good afternoon.

Jonathan – Good afternoon you all.

Jonathan – Hello Jordan.

I just look away. Jonathan tried to attack me but it won't work.

Sam – So which part are you auditioning for?

Jonathan – I'm auditioning for the Johnny Hyde part.

Sam – Okay so Jordan would you like to join Jonathan to his audition?!

Jordan – For sure.

Jonathan – Wait is he going to play Marilyn Monroe?

Sam – Yes he will. He'll do it in drag.

Sam – I'm sure you're not opposed to that.

Sam – Or haven't your learn that in the Shakespeare epoque all female roles were played by male actors?!

Jonathan – Okay, anyway it is your short film.

Sam (angry) – Damn right it is.

Sam – So take this copy of the script.

I get up from where I was sitting and get in character. Jonathan is so stuck up.

But I'll be the greater person.

Johathan (reading the script) – Miss Monroe I got you your first role.

Jordan (in Marilyn's character) – Really? What's the picture called?

Jonathan (reading the script) – It's called All About Eve.

Jordan (in Marilyn's character) – Well thank you, which part will I play?

Jonathan (reading the script) – Well you're not playing any role yet, you have to audition for it and do some screentests.

Jonathan (reading the script) – But the role is Claudia Casswell. Mostly known as Miss Casswell.

Sam – Okay stop.

Sam - That was... good.

Jonathan side eyes Jordan.

Jordan sits back near Sam and Ryder.

Sam – I'll be in touch with you as soon as I make up my mind.

Sam – But thank you you're good.

Jonathan – Thank you.

Jonathan – Bye Jordan.

Jonathan leaves the room. Why does he keep on trying to speak to me.

Hasn't he understand that I don't want anything to do with him?

Sam – So what you all think?

Ryder – He was great.

Sam – I know right?!

Sam – What do you think Jordan.

Jordan – He was okay.

Sam – Please don't do this I know you don't like him but he's really talented.

Jordan – Well if you say so. He was good.

Jordan – I'll do it because it's for you, for your short film.

Jordan – And I'll have few scenes with him since his character dies and doesn't have a lot to with Marilyn.

Sam – Okay thank you for your support.

Sam – But please don't bring this kind of environment to my film because that will be hard to cope with.

Sam – And I can't risk failing my chance to get my degree.

Jordan – Okay I promise you I will tolerate him.

Ryder – There's still more characters left.

Ryder – Ben Lyon, Gladys Baker, Darryl Zanuck, Natasha Lytess, Paula Strasberg, Allan Snyder and Patricia Newcomb.

Sam – Well it seems like someone is walking in.

Jessica walks in with Kyle and Christie. What a trio.

If I wasn't mad enough when Jonathan auditioned now I'm even more mad.

This is a triple threat. And by that I mean their threating my mind so I can fail.

Sam – Welcome you all. Who wants to go first?

Jessica – I would like to go first.

Jessica – I'm Jessica and I'm auditioning for the role of Marilyn Monroe.

Sam – Sorry we already have our Marilyn Monroe. It's Jordan.

The evil trio gasps.

Jessica – Jordan?! But he's a guy!

Sam – And?! I thought you dramatic arts students were more open about crossdressing.

Sam – I'm tired of having to say this over and over again.

Ryder – Glenn Close in Albert Nobbs. Robin Williams in Mrs. Doubtfire.

Ryder – Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon in Some Like It Hot.

Ryder – They all crossdressed for films.

Sam - Don't be close minded.

Ryder – Acting is about breaking boundaries and doing somehow bizarre things.

Sam – There's still four female roles.

Sam – Gladys Baker, Natasha Lytess, Paula Strasber and Patricia Newcomb.

Sam – Which one do you want to audition for?

Jessica – Well I'll audition for the role of Gladys Baker.

Sam – Good, here's a copy of the script.

Jessica walks towards the tables and grabs a copy of the script.

Sam – Jordan you already know what you have to do.

Jordan (in Marilyn's character) – Mother can I ask you something?

Jessica (reading the script) – Norma Jean you're always wanting to asking something.

Jessica (reading the script) – What do you want to know now?

Jordan (in Marilyn's character) – Mother I would like to know if you believe I could become an actress?

Jessica (reading the script) - I will be straightfoward to you, you shouldn't even consider getting into that industry.

Jessica (reading the script) – It's a sinful business. That's not what I want you to become, neither it is what God wants you to become.

Jordan (in Marilyn's character) – But mother...

Jessica (reading the script) – Shut up Norma Jean. Don't you talkback to me.

Jessica (reading the script) – Go to your room.

Jessica starts laughing madly.

Sam – Oh my god that was amazing.

Sam (to Jessica) – You channeled, in my vision, the essence of Gladys.

Sam (to Jessica) – The arrogance of her towards Norma Jean and her bursts of laugh in a mad state.

Sam – I guess. I mean I am the director of it.

Sam – I can say for all that you are our Gladys Baker.

Jessica – Oh thank you so much Sam.

Jessica – See you in the shootings Jordan.

Sam – Next.

And the auditions continued.

After Christie auditioned for the role of Natasha Lytess and Kyle the role of Darryl Zanuck.

There was still more roles to be filled in. So Sam agreed to make the rest of the auditions tomorrow.

He isn't thinking in callbacks. Maybe just on Jonathan for my sake.

But he says what he decides is final. So we'll see.
