Greenwich Village, December 21st 2015

Christmas is coming, I now have learn a lot more in NYU about theatre.

Kora told me that I'm ready to enter in a play.

Every christmas NYU puts on a play and I was invited to be a part of it and I got the leading role.

Also the dean, every winter puts on a second show entitled Winter Showcase where only twelve students are invited.

They receive a letter signed by the dean. That's the epithome of the school year.

I don't expect to receive one since I'm a freshman.

And even if I would be chosen I wouldn't know what to present.

There's stories that some students who weren't expecting to be invited.

And in the Winter Showcase freaked out and got cut from the university.

I guess I have to plan something just in case.

Maybe a monologue or a musical number. I don't know.

It's lunch time and I wander through the cafeteria because I'm avoiding Kyle and Jessica.

I look to my left and I see Sam sitting with one friend.

I ask him if I could join them and he says yes so I sit next to them.

Sam – Hey Jordan! I haven't seen you for a while.

Jordan – I've been locked at home working on my facial expressions, diction, memorisation and singing.

Sam – Oh that's good.

Jordan – So I haven't been out and about.

Sam – But don't lock yourself too much that's not good for your mental health.

Jordan – Thank you for your advice.

Jordan – So who's your friend?!

Sam – This is Ryder he's taking the same degree as me. We're classmates.

Jordan – Hi Ryder nice to meet you, I'm Jordan Wright.

Ryder – Hi Jordan, nice to meet you too.

Jordan – I'm studying Dramatic Arts. I'm a freshman.

Ryder – I heard about you.

Ryder – You're going to be the lead role in the christmas play aren't you?

Jordan – Yes that's right.

Sam – Wow I didn't know that, congrats Jordan.

Jordan – Thank you Sam,

Ryder – Don't mind him Jordan, he lives under a rock.

Sam – Oh you moron. Stop saying those things.

Jordan – It's okay. Everybody has their quirks.

Ryder – That must be a big deal.

Ryder – A freshman who gets the lead role in the annual christmas play.

Ryder – Aren't you worried?

Jordan – Actually I'm not.

Jordan – I haven't been feeling this confident in a while.

Ryder – I guess you'll even going to be invited to the Winter Showcase.

Jordan – That sounds a bit surreal.

Jordan – A sophomore being invited to the Winter Showcase that sounds really unrealistic.

Sam – I'm not saying I agree with you Jordan because you'll never know what can happen.

Jordan - I don't know man that doesn't sound very possible to me.

Sam – But I guess he is flirting with you and being a bit of a sycophant.

Jordan – You two are so fun together.

Jordan – But I've got to go. You see I have to do more homework.

Sam – Can we join you?

Ryder – Hey invite yourself only I still can speak for myself.

Jordan – No, it's okay.

Ryder – And you don't know if he wants us there.

Jordan – You two can join me, I guess we can complement each other.

Ryder – I guess so.

Jordan – I don't plan to become a theatre actor only.

Jordan – I would like to appear on the big screen as well.

Sam – That's good, thank you.

Jordan – Let's hit it.

We leave NYU and take the subway to my apartment.

On the trip I look to the subway windows.

Because I like to see if my appearance is neat, and I see my dark side again.

He looks exactly like me the only thing that differs is his eyes.

He has red eyes and I get a evil arrogant vibe from what I see in him.

I blink my eyes and he vanishes once again.

On the door of Dakota Building I search for my keys, Sam and Ryder take steps back.

They're afraid of it. That building doesn't have a good fame.

Jordan – Please don't be afraid, nothing evil has happened here since I moved in.

Jordan – I can assure you that.

They enter with me and we go on the elevator, my apartment is on the second floor.

The elevator gets stuck and the light begins to tingle like it's going to shut down.

Suddenly everything becomes dark.

The three of us scream and the light comes on again and the doors open by themselves.

And there's Oscar standing in the exit of the elevator. He is laughing so hard at our reactions.

And then explains we are so fun to scare. It was only a prank.

We enter in my apartment and Sam and Ryder with their hearts racing, jump to the couch and rest a bit.

I start to search for my scripts, my books and my mirror. I'm looking up to doing my homework.

Sam and Ryder are seniors so they would be pratically finding an actor to be a part of their final projects.

They become interested in me and ask me if I would join their short films they have created for their final projects.

I ask Sam to tell me what does his short film is based on. Like a synopsis.

Sam – So my short film consists on a young guy that wants to become an actor.

Sam – His family is dysfunctional, he never met his father and his mother is very harsh with him and distant.

Sam – So he lives in a fantasy world therefore he has this skills to be an actor.

Jordan – Wait, wait is this what I think it is?!

Sam – What do you think it is?

Jordan – Is this like the male version story of Marilyn Monroe?

Sam – Yeah, you got me.

Jordan – Where's the originality?!

Sam – Oh don't be like that, I just worship her so much, she's the goddess of movies.

Sam – Apart of being the biggest sex symbol, she's the goddess of movies.

Sam – So I would like to honor her in my short film.

Jordan – Do I have to play sexy and have affairs with three girls?

Sam – No! I only want to focus on the legend story.

Sam – It's kind of the representation of the american dream.

Sam – Someone who's so humble starts from the bottom and reaches the top of the ladder.

Jordan – I have to think. But for now I will say maybe.

Sam – Thank you.

Jordan – I haven't accept it officialy! Remember?!

Sam – You're right.

Jordan – I'm just kidding, got you. I accept it.

Ryder (upset) – Oh, you got him already Sam.

Jordan – Sorry would you like to tell me your short film synopsis?

Jordan – I got so attached to Sam's short film synopsis I forgot to hear about yours.

Ryder – Nevermind, it was just about a guy who too wanted to be an actor since high school and pushed his crush away.

Ryder – The film would focus in him backstage getting ready for his first opening night and the girl he had a crush appearing.

Jordan (to Sam) – If you would have told me before I would have accept it.

Ryder – Who knows if you can't appear in both of them.

Jordan – That sounds like a lot of work.

Jordan – But I will consider it. I will keep that in mind.

Sam – Do you have any props in your house or some good costumes?

Jordan – I don't have any props.

Sam – I heard of a prop store that let you rent props for theatre and cinema and it's really cheap.

Sam – I guess we can do some screentests.

Jordan – Okay!! I'm so happy this is sounding so awesome.
