Chapter IX (Trailer/On Air)

Manhattan Upper West Side, May 22nd 2016

After a full day of shootings, I walk the block to the subway and take it to go home.

My phone is full of messages and lost calls. From Sam and from Christopher.

Now I'm worried because even though I like to seduce guys I'm loyal to Sam.

And I'm worried that one day Sam will look at my phone and see the messages Christopher has been sending me.

I'm really happy, this show is bringing a lot of joy. And it's going on air tomorrow.

If we hit 9 million of views then we can shoot more episodes. I'm thinking that this show should run by four seasons. Maybe five.

Melvin is trying to find shows like Ellen and Jimmy Fallon from me to appear in them.

Yes it is too soon, but publicists always think forward, into the future.

They don't think that the show won't be a hit, that their clients are boring and can't make a good public image.

I'm nervous because I never been in a talk show so I it's going to be really awkward.

I finally arrive at home, I unlock the door and enter I'm really tired. I go take a shower.

It's very silent in here. Isn't Sam at home?!

I take my shower and go dress my bed underwear. I bought a salad in the way home so I'm going to eat it and go to sleep.

This salad is really tasty as I'm finishing my meal and throwing the package to the trash, Sam arrives.

He's really tired, I can see in his face.

Elliott – Hey sweetie. How was your day?

Sam – Tiring. The actress who's playing Audrey is having a mental collapse from working too much.

Sam - She's forgetting her lines, arrives late at the shootings and is taking a lot of pills.

Sam - I don't know if my movie is about Audrey Hepburn anymore. It seems like it's turning into Marilyn Monroe.

Elliott – Oh, that sucks. Maybe you could take a day off.

Elliott - Working too much for too long does stress the brain.

Sam – I guess you're right but we're falling a month before schedule.

Sam - The movie is already over the budget we set. The premiere was supposed to be in the end of this month.

Sam - I'm dying.

Elliott – Hey it's gonna be alright, trust me.

Elliott - A day off will give you all the peace of mind you need.

Sam kisses me.

Sam – What would I do without you my love?

Elliott – Probably the same but just without an amazing partner.

Sam – Aren't you too in your head?!

Elliott – I'm being realistic. I love you so much.

Sam – I love you too. It's just a pity we can't marry.

Elliott – Not this talk again. I already told you I'm not thinking of marrying.

Elliott - I don't think that putting the law between our relationship is going to be good for us.

Elliott - Why do we need the validation from the law to show we are a real couple?

Elliott – We are a real couple. We don't need to follow the prehistorical ritual.

Elliott - Living together as lovers isn't enough for you?!

Sam – Okay, okay. But have you think about what I want?!

Sam - It's not always what you say that goes. I would like to get married.

Sam - My parents would like me to get married.

Elliott – Oh so you want to get married to satisfy the social constructed ideas that your parents have.

Elliott - I'm sorry but I can fulfill that babe. Sorry if I'm disappointing you but you knew this when we first dated.

Sam – Okay then. I'm going to take a shower and I'll go to sleep.

Elliott – Okay go on then. I'll sleep right here in this couch binge watching the channel E!

Sam leaves me all alone on the living room, go take a shower and goes straight to our bedroom without saying good night to me.

It's okay, he doesn't have the right to push what he or what his parents want to me.

I don't want to get married if he wants someone to marry then I guess we'll have to break up.

I won't be crying an ocean for him, no. I have plenty of guys that I can have relationships with.

Christopher, Vincenzo and whoever more I want.

He breaks up with me I will search for another one. Everybody's replaceable.

I go to sleep after watching "Botched" and the tv stayed on all the night.

I'm walking in a building and a lot of people I don't know follow me and ask me for pictures with them.

I try to take pictures with the most I can but they're mobbing me so I have to find a way out of there.

I see a monarch butterfly flying above my head and then it's in front of my face. It flies through an empty place, kind of helping me escape the crowd.

I arrive at a round room full of lcd screens, the butterfly flies around the room. The lcd screens turn on and they show my fall in the Swan Lake play.

Soon I see that the audience is not exiting the theater but they're laughing at me.

The crowd that was down there is arriving at the door of the round room and they're laughing and calling me names.

I wake up. I'm sweating a lot. What a nightmare.

I thought that part of my life was erased from my mind but it still haunts me.

Manhattan Upper West Side, May 23rd 2016

I go take a shower as usual but today I need it really bad. I'm all sweaty. Sam is still sleeping.

Today it's his day off and I would like to be with him, yes we had a fight yesterday but fights aren't meant to last.

And the thing with me is that I say everything I shouldn't say and regret it later. I miss him and we are on the same house.

After my shower and after dressing myself, I prepared a breakfast to Sam.

His favorite. Two bagels with cream cheese and iced caramel coffee.

I put it on a tray with a blue napkin and a note saying I'm sorry for last night fight.

Elliott – Hey babe good morning.

Sam – Good morning.

Sam's tone was still from someone who's upset. But as soon as he smelled the cream cheese and the coffee he sat on our bed.

Elliott – Here's your breakfast honey. I'm so sorry for yesterday. I should have think about what you want too.

Sam – It's okay, we were both imposing our views into each other.

Elliott – I made you breakfast. Your favorite.

Sam – You know me too well.

I smile at him. I sit next to him and see him eat. He's so beautiful, I have the tendency to fall in love with beautiful people.

Beautiful things and beautiful actions.

And when you love someone so much even the ordinary things they do amaze you.

Sam – Do you want some?

Elliott – No, thank you. This is your breakfast, enjoy it.

Elliott - I'm not hungry. I have been feeling an emptiness in my stomach and it's not from being hungry.

Sam – What are you worrying about honey?

Elliott – The pilot airs today at 8 p.m. and I'm so anxious.

Sam – It's going to be okay. You shouldn't worry, I'm pretty sure everyone is going to like it.

Sam - Go grab your laptop and bring it here.

I go grab my laptop and the charger and plug near our bed.

Elliott – What do we need the laptop for babe?

Sam – Well I don't know about tv shows, but in movies we share teases of the movies just like the trailer.

Elliott – Oh so you want us to see the teaser videos of "Heirs Of The Frontline"?

Sam – Right.

Elliott – I'm scared, what if it has too many dislikes?!

Sam – You can't please everyone.

Elliott – You're right.

Sam – Because not everyone has good taste.

Elliott – You're the best, that's why I love you. You're a bit like me but still just you.

Elliott - And I feel like it's us against the world.

Sam – And it is. We will dominate this world with our love, strength, intelligence and talent.

Sam grabs my laptop and opens Google Chrome so he can search for Youtube.

When the Youtube page loads he searches for "Heirs Of The Frontline". It has a trailer.

It starts with Darcy Prescott, Duncan Van Dyne and Cameron Montfort walking through the hallway and the crowded hallway parted just like the red sea.

Every student gets near their lockers opening space for us to strut and go to class.

I stop smile in a bitch way, then I go away, then Duncan and Cameron do the same and everyone behind them return to their places.

The next scene is Tiffany (Mia) walking in the hallway hot in her short dress, showing her long legs. She's insulting some students, Alma (Agnes) is among them.

And then Tiffany finds me and my army of sycophants. We go on a fight about who's the top bitch.

The last scene is set on the football field. The camera focus on Chad Godfrey, the quarterback he is taking off his helmet and giving a douchebag wink.

Then on the bleachers are sitting Chase Greenwood and Lucas Middleton.

They're looking at the players and then they go to their Iphones to take selfies for their social media apps.

The trailer ends with a narrator saying: In this high school you will find four layers of popular students.

The preppy gay boys, the promiscuous sassy girl, the quarterback and the typical popular boys who are gay too.

In this hierarchy of popular people, on the bottom you will find the outcasts, the quirk nerdy girl.

High school the place where popularity matters, everyone will fight for the top spot on the hierarchy.

But who will be the true heirs of the frontline?!

Sam – This was awesome. Oh my god.

Elliott – Isn't it too teen drama?

Sam – It is but that's what makes it awesome.

Sam - This is really like those other shows but has a thing that differs from the others.

Sam - In teen dramas series that are set in high school, there's only two layers of popular kids, the cheerleaders and the jocks.

Sam - In this show it has four layers of popular kids and they have to fight for the top of the ladder.

Sam - The title couldn't be more accurate to the tv show.

Elliott – Oh you're really sweet. And look so far it has just two dislikes.

Elliott - But the comment section is filled with positivity.

Sam – It's going to be a great show. I want to watch the show.

Sam - Please record it so we can see it later, okay?!

Elliott – Of course. I'm longing to see the final product.

Sam – Now go eat, you have to. What if you're called to shoot more episodes?!

Sam - You can't go with an empty stomach.

Elliott – Okay daddy.

Sam – Shut up! Go eat something.

Elliott – I'm going now daddy.

I go and eat two bagels with cream cheese as well, drink iced coffee without caramel. Then I tell Sam to dress up because I want to go out with him.

I miss the times when we used to go out. Sam takes a shower and dresses himself in a handsome casual outfit.

We take the subway and go to Times Square. We plan to visit Madame Tussauds Wax Museum.

Sam brought his Nikon D3200 and we're going to take pictures with our favorite celebrities.

There's so many wax celebrities in here you can't even imagine. Sam is searching for the Marilyn Monroe wax figure like a kid in a candy shop.

We finally found the Marilyn Monroe wax statue. Sam poses beside "her".

He's so happy, I never saw the happy smile that he had until now.

I'm not jealous but let's face it if you could pose and take a picture, even if it is a wax figure, with your idol wouldn't you be happy?!

I took two pictures because Sam is really picky with photography.

He likes perfection, even though that can't be achieved.

Then I take a picture with Marilyn Monroe too because she was/is an icon and was really beautiful.

Then we go find more celebrities that we like. Whitney Houston, Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, Tina Turner, Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake.

Anne Hathaway, Taylor Lautner, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Lopez, Johnny Depp and Scarlett Johansson.

It was a good day, full of pictures with some celebs.

Some that are there, I mean the wax figures, are gone and some are still alive.

I guess this is really good because it's a great way to honor the celebrities.

And allows people who aren't able to meet their idols to take pictures with "them".

After the museum we went to see a Broadway show.

Which one, you're wondering?! Wicked. It's really good, and it is still running.

I just pity I wasn't able to watch Wicked with Kristin Chenoweth and Adele Dazeem. I mean, Idina Menzel.

I bet you thought that joke wasn't around anymore.

We then went to Central Park for a walk by the lake and I remember my video.

Finally we went home. It's almost time for the pilot air on national television. Oh my god I'm anxious.

We arrive at our home and go straight to the couch, turn the tv on and put it on HBO.

It's show time. Oh that's only said in theater. Well.

The tv series starts with the opening credits of course. The opening credits song is "Primadonna" by Marina and the Diamonds.

Mr. Jacques thought that was suitable since every character is a primadonna, which is italian for diva.

The opening credits start with Alma walking in a school hallway, we can only see her back.

In the direction of the camera is walking Tiffany and she looks to Alma and laughs jokingly.

Then in the same hallway are walking Darcy, Duncan and Cameron and they look disgusted at the camera.

The next scenes are Chad walking with the football team jacket.

Then Lucas and Chase are walking side by side on their Iphones texting each other and laughing at each other.

The end of the opening credits is the entire cast together walking on the hallway and the title of the show appears.

The pilot episode

In the chemistry class the teacher is testing everybody's knowledge about the periodic table of elements.

I'm really bored, I look back and Cameron and Duncan are paying attention to the teacher.

I turn back to my position and look to the door.

Darcy Prescott -  Oh dear god. This class is sooo boring. I just want to get out of this classroom and go to the cafeteria to drink an orange juice.

Darcy Prescott - I'm a junior and I can't wait to graduate and leave this town. The only thing that still makes me go on are my besties, Duncan and Cameron.

Darcy Prescott - And Chase Greenwood. My crush, who will be more than just that.

Darcy Prescott - I plan to date him this year. I know he likes me too. Well who doesn't?!

The school bell rings I get out of the class eagerly and Cameron and Duncan follow me. The teacher is looking at us confused.

We walk all preppy and stuck up and then we see Alma in her locker.

Darcy Prescott - Hey troll. Need help organizing those notebooks?

Alma - No, I'm good.

Darcy Prescott (to Cameron and Duncan) - She actually thought I would help her. She's so sad.

Cameron Montfort - Now wonder, I would be sad too if I dressed like a middle school student.

Cameron Montfort - Honey we're in high school it's time to upgrade your style.

Duncan Van Dyne - She might be shopping at Goodwill.

Alma - You all talk like idiots. There's no need to agonize me, I did nothing to you.

Darcy Prescott - Of course we talk like idiots. How else could you understand us?

We all laugh, Alma is really sad and is going away from her locker.

Duncan Van Dyne - She needs to upgrade her style, she looks like a mess.

Cameron Montfort - Maybe we could give her a makeover.

Darcy Prescott - Are you dumb?

Cameron Montfort - No, why?!

Darcy Prescott - If we give her a makeover it means we care about her. And we don't.

Darcy Prescott - And if we did a makeover on her then how would we make her high school life a hell?!

Cameron Montfort - You're right.

Duncan Van Dyne - He's always right.

Darcy Prescott - Thank you Duncan.

We walk the outside of the school but we find Tiffany on the way.

Tiffany - Look who's here, Darcy the trixie.

Darcy Prescott - I'm sorry, was I meant to be offended? The only thing offending me is your face honey.

Duncan Van Dyne - Snap!

Tiffany - Please, keep talking. I always yawn when I am interested.

Darcy Prescott - Let's get real gurl. This school has a hierarchy and you will never be at the top of it.

Tiffany - Is that so? So you consider yourself and your "army" at the top of it.

Tiffany - Please when did the gays achieved the top of something besides on their relationships?!

Darcy Prescott - At least I can get a boyfriend.

Tiffany - Oh really who is he?

Darcy Prescott - Chad Godfrey.

Tiffany - Please bury yourself really deep. Because Chad is as straight as they come.

Darcy Prescott - Oh really. It looks like you're not catching up with 411 of this school.

Darcy Prescott - Last summer Julian and Chad had a summer fling.

Tiffany - Is he gay?

Darcy Prescott - No honey, he swings both ways. He's bisexual, ever heard of the term?

Darcy Prescott - Probably not because your IQ is too low for you to be able to capture this much of information.

Tiffany - I could eat a bowl of alphabet soup and crap a better argument than yours.

Darcy Prescott - Well it would be a nice change from all the crap that's been coming out of your mouth!

Darcy Prescott - Beat it bitch.

Tiffany - Listen lady face. I am not a bitch. I am the bitch and to you I'm Ms. bitch, mmkay?!

The pilot episode goes on and we watch until the end.

Sam - This is so good. I loved it.

Elliott - It turned out so good.

Sam - Right?!

Manhattan Upper West Side, May 24th 2016

My phone buzzes, and my body aches. Wait did we fell asleep on the couch.

I answer the phone.

Elliott (on the phone) - Hi Mr. Jacques. Good morning how are you?

Elliott (on the phone) - I'm good too, thank you for asking.

Elliott (on the phone) - So do you have the rate of viewers of the pilot already?

Elliott (on the phone)- Oh really?!

Elliott (on the phone)- WHAT?!!

Elliott (on the phone)- I'm sorry I'm just surprised. 9,3 million viewers. So we will shoot more episodes?

Elliott (on the phone)- Of course. You tell me the days and I go to the studio to shoot.

Elliott -(on the phone) Oh so today I have to go to Jimmy Fallon talk show.

Elliott (on the phone)- Of course. I'm living in Manhattan, I can meet Melvin at Central Park and then bring him here.

Elliott (on the phone)- Okay, it was a pleasure to talk with you. Goodbye Mr. Jacques.
