Chapter Eighteen
Chapter Eighteen
Raus de Azul - White Sands District
Kaelen stared around the streets he took in the vast array of people and could feel his anger ignite. "This is the fourth planet and the thirteenth town," he growled annoyed. His cold gaze swept the crowd and he frowned at the subtle difference he saw here; some were protestors while others looked to be there to celebrate something.
Confusion marred his face before he released a sigh and walked toward Lucas and Jacob. Kaelen tried to ignore the glances thrown his way with an expression of disinterest. With one last dismissive look at those who would soon die he shook his head, "Did either of you consider that this is another distraction?"
Lucas lips kicked up at Kaelen's tone, "Of course we know this is a distraction. But the real question is what are they trying to distract us from?"
Jacob twisted side to side as he looked over the people and pointed toward an old man with white hair. "I'll use him as an example," stated Jacob lowly. He turned and gave him an indulgent smile as they walked to the center of the crowd.
"Can you tell me your name?" After seconds ticked pass and the old man just gazed at him with worshipful eyes Jacob shrugged. He jerked his head toward the crowd, "Can you tell us why you're here?"
The old man's arms flapped around as he danced in place excited. "My lords I have no clue as to why all these people are here with signs protesting the rule of the high council." The old man's blue eyes shifted to Lucas as he stumbled over his words, "I-I was t-told that His Grace Lucas Sinclair would be gracing our small planet with his presence along with the second and third seats and I knew this was my last chance to ever see royality."
Kaelen's pressed his lips together as he listened to the old man. "Do you take us as fools?"
The old man's eyes flew to Lucas and he started to babble, "M-my Lord please I've done nothing wrong! I've brought my daughter, her husband and their children to see the powerful and mighty heirs."
Kaelen's eyes narrowed as he glared at the man, "Then you brought them all here to die."
"No wait," exclaimed a young purple haired woman her left hand outstretched. "My family has been loyal to be high council and the Ah'Tarians! Please my father brought us here so that we can see the Royals! Please I beg your mercy! I was told that the new third chair would be coming; many from our village as well as my family were excited to see the non-Ah'Tarian." Her eyes shifted to Kaelen and a tentative smile turned her lips upward. "We wanted to see you outside the vids."
Jacob tapped his chin thoughtfully. "Tell me woman," drawled Jacob, "how did you hear that we were coming?"
The purple haired women's face crumbled as she remembered. "Zachary told me," she cried. "And I like a dummy told my father. I should've known better! Zach has had it out for my family since my father denied his offer the marry me." The woman tearfully looked around her at her fellow villagers, "Why didn't I think it was suspicious when him and his wife were not on the transport with us."
"I don't know," mumbled Kaelen to himself. "This is mind boggling," he whispered as he turned and grabbed Lucas's shirt sleeve and pulled him to the side while Jacob continued to speak to the woman and her family.
"This is definitely a first," sighed Lucas as he turned to stare at the crowd. "Up until now everyone has been against the Alliance." He swung his arm toward the small group of people that seemed to be watching them with awe and growled, "This could have been a media disaster."
"I know," continued Kaelen as he a flash went off in his eyes. He blinked rapidly to clear the black spots in his vision before he sent a smile toward the powder blue haired man and turned Lucas toward the camera for another picture. "Can you imagine what would have happened if we came and killed all these people?"
Jacob nodded with a fake smile as he walked to stand beside Lucas and Kaelen for pictures. "I have to give it to Dion and Oscar," he bit out as he waved, "if we would have killed this people they would have turned a lot of people against us."
"My Lords," whispered the woman as she pushed purple hair behind her ear. "Not everyone here is against the Alliance," she swiped a tear from her daughter's cheek and stared from of gray eyes. "Do not kill my friends and family for our stupidity. We did not know of the threat coming here would present."
Lucas sighed and waved toward the head officer of the Alliance police, "Take everyone into custody. Those who have banners and signs against the Alliance need to be taken and killed as soon as they are off the street. Those that don't need to be questioned thoroughly and if it is determined they are of no threat released." When the man nodded and started to speak into his device Lucas closed his eyes and started toward the police station, "This is definitely going to be time consuming."
Kaelen rolled his eyes and stared at the old white haired man and chuckled, "They came to see me?" He shook his head and sighed, "I guess I'm a novelty."
"You guess," drawled Jacob as he watched some of the gawkers whisper and point toward Kaelen. "I have an idea," smiled Jacob as he stared around. Louder he called, "To those that wish to meet the Nah'Byian third chair, His Grace Lucas and I will be throwing him a party right here in five hours."
Lucas groaned as cheers erupted throughout the crowed. "Why," whined Lucas as he started to drag his feet. "Why would you do this to me?"
"To you," snapped Kaelen as his hazel green eyes took in all the people. "Think how I feel. If one more person point at my hair I think I'll make them explode."
"Oh," laughed Jacob as he took his hair, "I think you've set a new trend and don't even know it."
"Yeah," responded Kaelen with disdain, "And what is that?"
Jacob preened as he imitated Kevin and rocked back and forth on his heels, "Bleach blond will be the new turquoise!"
Kaelen scrunched up his nose as he remembered six months ago everyone had dyed their hair that color, "You have to be kidding me."
"Nope," laughed Jacob as he started toward the police station. "You are now a trend setter."
Kaelen rolled his eyes as he followed at a slower pace behind Lucas and Jacob. He reached in his pocket and pulled out his device and sent a message to Kevin. He smirked when he read the reply and shook his head. As he looked up he noticed that several small kids were staring at him so he nodded and waved as he sped up to catch up with Jacob. "Those kids are following me," he mumbled to Jacob.
Jacob turned to stare at the eager faces and laughed, "It's not like they are strapped with bombs."
Kaelen froze as his eyes widened, "Shit!" He whipped around and found the old man. "He has a bomb!"
Jacob and Lucas turned and raised their hands in unison as the bomb detoniated it implode with a small poof as screams ripped through the air. The purple haired woman gazed in horror as she stared at her father, "Zachary gave him something to present to you as a gift, my lords."
Kaelen eyes swirled as he stared at the old man, "What is Zachary's full name and what village do you hail from."
Ah'Taria - Silver Lights District
Orchid stared excited at the reply from Ruby, "She's still as dumb as ever. I can't believe it's this easy."
Orchid quickly pressed buttons on her device and waited for it connect to Dion. "The contact that I have is as dumb as I thought she was. I'm to meet her in two days from tonight." Orchid grinned as she set her device down and picked at her nail, "How goes the distraction?"
Dion couldn't believe her childish plan seemed to have worked. "I would think any and everyone would stay away from you. And your plan was is so juvenile that it defies logic that it is working."
"How dare you," snarled Orchid. "Up until recently I was a Sinclair! Sinclair's are known for being smarter than anyone."
"Were a Sinclair," scoffed Dion, as he interrupted, with a sneer at Orchid. "And if you were a smart as you thought you'd still be a Sinclair." When he saw her cheeks flush with color he waved a hand, "Anyway, who is the person dumb enough to still want to be of your acquaintance? They obviously have lost their mind."
Orchid glared at the screen, "Ruby Hands was and is a dear friend even though her antics and whoremonger ways are legendary. I believe she will be a great asset especially since she is still sleeping with the third chair." Orchid lips curled up as a new plan unfolded, "Not only will she be able to tell me who the mystery boy is, she'll definitely have a few secrets that we can use later."
Dion grunted as he stared at her in thinly veiled disbelief. "I don't care about the secrets she supposedly knows. Find out who the boy with Anthony Lawson is and find out when you meet her."
"I will," snapped Orchid as she disconnected the feed. "He is such a dictator," cried Orchid as she plopped into the bed and pulled the covers around her. "I'll show him! He thinks he is the one pulling the strings but soon I won't need him anymore."
Orchid laid in the bed for several minutes while she contemplated what it will be like once she rules the Alliance. With the new appreciation for her plan she responded to Ruby's message:
I'm excited to see you to! It's been too long since the last time we got together and to think that will be meeting at Richard's. The signature protection :-)
Orchid reread the message several times before she send it with the self- satisfied smile. "I'll make all of them pay for what they've done to me," whispered Orchid maliciously as she lay back in the bed.
A/N Hey guys! I'm trying to use natural speak to do the update and I know it seems like it should be easy but it's not. The dang on thing can't understand my Chicago accent (-_-)
