Chapter Eight: Who's the Heir?

Harry's Point of View

I was running with Alec down the flooded corridor, eventually we came across Ron and Ginny who were talking quietly, Ginny was writing something in a black book. "Ginny! Ron! What are you guys doing?!" I asked. I know that they weren't very nice to Victoria but I wanted to believe there was good in them. Ron looked up at me and Ginny did the same but she blushed when she saw me. "Nothing, we're just writing." Ron said, smiling. Alec looked a little concerned. "The Chamber of Secrets has been opened. It's dangerous for anyone to be out by themselves." I explained to them. Ginny frowned, standing up and walking over to me. "Then why are you out here Harry, it would be dangerous for you too. I don't want you to get hurt." She said sweetly. "We're looking for Victoria." I explained. Ginny immediately frowned. "Oh, I'm sorry to say I haven't seen her all day. Neither has Ron." She said, walking around Alec and I and walking off. Ron did this same. I was extremely confused but Alec and I continued our search. Suddenly I heard someone crying. I immediately ran into the bathroom to find the water red with blood and a ghost girl crying over a girl who was lying face down in the mess. "Oh god it's Victoria!" Alec cried, immediately rushing over to her and carefully flipping her over. "What happened?" I asked the ghost, who sobbed. "It was just awful. I was sulking in my bathroom stall like I normally do and I heard this girl getting attacked." The ghost said. "Did you see who did it?!" I demanded. The ghost shook her head. "I've been trying to wake her up but it hasn't worked." I immediately stood up. "I have to go tell the teachers, stay with her!" I yelled as I ran out of the bathroom. I ran to the great hall and found Professor McGonagall, explaining to her what happened. She summoned the other teachers and they rushed to where Alec was with Victoria. Only Professor Dumbledore remained at the table, a look of amusement on his face. This made me mad. I ran off to tell Hermione and Claire that Victoria had been found.

Alec's Point of View

I cradled the unconscious body of Victoria, gently brushing her hair out of her face. "Come on little sister, just hang in there." I said quietly. I was absolutely terrified, there was so much blood. I felt my heart do a leap when I heard a lot of footsteps rushing in. "Oh Merlin." I heard McGonagall say, she rushed over to my side and took Victoria from me. There was a tsking sound. "It appears the Chamber has claimed its first victim." Lockhart said. McGonagall shook her head. "Not yet Gilderoy. Ms. Peverell is still breathing." She said, carrying Victoria to the hospital wing. I went to follow but was stopped by Lockhart. "Best to let the professionals handle this my boy. You should go back to your dorm." I frowned but did as I was told. I ran back up to the Gryffindor common room where I was greeted by just about everyone. "She's being taken to the hospital wing now. Madam Pomphrey should be able to fix her up." I explained. There was a large sigh of relief from everyone, except for Ron and Ginny. Gods, I couldn't believe why they hated their own sister. I was snapped out of my thoughts by Claire-bear. "Who do you think did it? Attacked Victoria and opened the Chamber?" "Do you think they're connected?" I asked. She nodded. "They must be." I nodded in agreement. "Tomorrow you me and Hermione will hit the library, see what we can find out, but until that happens, I've got a few suspects." I said, looking at Ron and Ginny. Ginny looked down at the book she was holding, writing in it.
