Adrian POV:

I was sleeping in my bed, and the alarm went off with the blinds pulling up.

Alarm Clock: Good morning, Adrian. Today is March 15th, 2095. Let's make it another great day in Edge, the City of Dreams.

I turn off my alarm clock before feeling something heavy land on me.

Adrian: Oof!

???: Wake up big brother. The sun's up.

I open my eyes and see who landed on me: my sister Mizuki.

Mizuki: Get up Adrian. School's in 2 hours.

Adrian: I'm up, I'm up. Could you please move? I'm having trouble breathing

Mizuki: Okay, sorry.

Mizuki gets off and I look around to see our apartment.

I shower real quick and put on my clothes. I look in the mirror to make my hair less disheveled. I also grab my Focus and place it on my head.

Mizuki: Addy, come get your breakfast.

Adrian: Coming

I go to the kitchen and see that Mizuki made breakfast.

Adrian: Thank you Mizuki. Though I'm the one that should have made you breakfast.

Mizuki: That's what family's for. You made breakfast yesterday. So I made it today. Let's eat then leave.

The two of us eat and see the news playing on the TV

News: Today is a warm 60 degrees outside with sunny skies. In other news, the Union Aerospace Corporation has made resounding advancements in space exploration technology. Many are expecting to travel beyond the solar system in just a few decades. Meanwhile, Monarch Solutions presents a plan for a generator that promises clean energy

I turn off the TV and we leave the apartment. The two of them get on a train and head for school. They look out the window and see the many skyscrapers and advertisements playing. Mizuki was on her Focus while I had mine play music. The train stopped we got off with the others.

Mizuki and I saw our school on the level below us.

Mizuki: Race you there!

Adrian: Mizuki, be careful! You might trip, fall, and break your neck!

Mizuki: I'll be careful. I always am.

Adrian: (Groan)

I took Mizuki to her classroom and I went to mine. Everyone was talking with each other or on their phones. Someone in class then says something interesting.

Male Student: Did you hear? We're getting a new teacher.

Female Student: I did. Do you think it's a male? Or is it a female?

Male Student 1: I hope they're not too strict.

Female Student 1: Same. I would appreciate a teacher that gives a proper class instead of one who expects us to know what they are talking about without telling us beforehand.

Adrian (Thoughts): Yeah, our last teacher got removed for total incompetence and alcohol abuse.

Suddenly, a woman comes in and sits at the teacher's desk. She's a very beautiful woman with black hair and gold eyes.

She writes on the digital board "Merlina" before turning around toward the class.

Merlina: Morning class. I'm your new teacher Merlina. I am happy to be working with students who have amazing potential. But, it is up to you all to fully realize that. So I encourage you all to perform your best at all times. Now, we will begin talking about our favorite stories and the main themes behind them. Would anyone like to go first?

I raise my hand up first since I know what my favorite stories are.

Merlina: Yes, Mr. Wake?

Adrian: My favorite stories are The Seven Deadly Sins.

Merlina: Excellent. And why are they your favorite?

Male Student 1: Cause his mom's the one who wrote them.

Adrian: That's not it.

Merlina: So, Wake as in Mayvin Wake? She's your mother?

Adrian: Yeah. Author of the series and a Head Scientist at the UAC.

Merlina: Interesting, but I'm getting off track. Can you explain the stories of the Seven Deadly Sins?

Adrian: It was about a group of people that was considered the most vile order of holy knights in the lost land of Britannia. They consisted of three humans and four non-humans. They were branded traitors after being framed for killing the Holy Knight Master and were on the run for a decade. It was only during the first signs of the Holy War they banded together to fight the Demon Race and stop the Demon King from destroying everything. The main themes of the story is never giving up, love always prevails, and always have hope.

Merlina: Thank you, Mr. Wake. Now would anyone like to tell their favorite stories?

The students raise their hands and tell their stories ranging from sci-fi to action and to romance. With only a few minutes until the bell rings, Merlina has an assignment for all of us.

Merlina: Okay, before we end class, your assignment is to do a report on you favorite book. And a head up, your assignment after that will be doing research on the authors of your favorite book and for extra credit, what inspired them to write it. I would greatly suggest starting it sooner rather than later so you don't end up doing it at the last minute. That is all.

The bell rings and everyone gets out of their chairs and leaves the classroom. I look at Merlin who is packing up for her break and notice her taking a glance at me.

Adrian: Is there anything else, Merlina?

Merlina: No. I've read Mayvin Wake's stories. There are very interesting. What's her inspiration?

Adrian: That's something I have to write for the research.

Merlina: Fantastic. See you soon Mr. Wake.

I leave the class and go to lunch.

I was eating with with Mziuki when-

???: How's it going, Adrian?

I look and see the best friend a guy could ever ask for: Alan Anderson

Adrian: Hey Alan.

Mizuki: How's it going?

Alan: Pretty well. I am back on track with improving my grades now that my sickness has passed. I am also planning on playing with my sister and catching up on Big Bang Theory when I get home.

Adrian: How's Alice? Is she back from her trip?

Alan: Yes. She brought a lot of souviners. And she is now interested in seeing UAC Headquarters in a few weeks. I can see that your mom has been spearheading the Space Exploration Divison.

Mizuki: She's been working hard and she's not giving up on her dream of going into the stars.

Adrian: Yep. That's why she joined it to begin with. That and to give us a happy life.

Alan: You two have a very loving mother. Even its not by blood.

Adrian: Same for you. You had amnesia and Alice told her family to adopt you.

Mizuki: And they find your personality a good thing to have as their son.

Alan: Well, good thing my Autism doesn't get in the way of friends and family.

Alan's Focus beeps and he checks it.

Alan: I have to go now, I need to return my books in the library. Nice talking to you guys.

Adrian: Same.

Mizuki: Take care Alan.

Alan: You both as well.

Alan waIks away and I check my focus to see that Lunch ends in 20 minutes.

Adrian: Mizuki, lunch ends in twenty.

Mizuki: I know. I hope I get a cool teacher like you did.

The both of us got up and returned to our classes. We went through History, Math, Science, and even Social Studies. After the day comes to an end, Mizuki and I leave the school and get back on the train. We head back to our apartment complex and visit our friend who lives on the floor below us, Iris Sagan.

Iris: Mizuki!

Mizuki: Iris!

Iris is our neighbor, has been for years. She and Mizuki have been best friends for years. And I hang out with them as well sometimes. Mizuki is also a streamer, a really good one.

Iris: Hi Adrian, how was your day?

Adrian: It went pretty well.

Mizuki: Adrian got a new female teacher.

Iris: Really? Was she hot?

Adrian: Yes, she was hot. So much that everyone in the school was talking about it.

Mizuki: They were. Even the girls in my class were talking about how jealous they were.

Iris: Nice. Well, that's enough of talking about teachers. You guys want to play video games?

Mizuki: Absolutely!

Adrian: I'm up for some "Nova Legions".

The three of us play together with Iris of course kicking our rears. I honestly can't help but smile when I'm around her. Mizuki often teases me about that, but I can't deny it.

Iris: Adrian, you're about to walk over the edge.

I look back at the game and get my character back on track.

Adrian: My bad. Thank you.

Iris: No problem.

My focus then goes off and I see mom's contact image showing up. A text appears with it.

Chat

Mom

"Coming home soon. Are you and Mizuki spending time with Iris again?"

Adrian

Yep. Stay safe on your way back.

Mom

I will. See you three soon

Miuzki: Is it mom?

Adrian: Yeah, she said she's coming home soon. And asking if we're hanging out with Iris again.

Iris: You both love hanging out with me.

Adrian: I can't deny that.

Iris: One more thing, what did your new teacher teach?

Adrian: She asked my class what our favorite stories are.

Iris: And what did you say?

Adrian: The Seven Deadly Sins

Iris pauses the game and looks at me with stars in her eyes.

Iris: The Seven Deadly Sins!? The greatest heroes in the missing land of Britannia!? The characters of the books your mom wrote?

Adrian: Those are the ones.

Mizuki: Oh yeah, you're a huge fan of magic and stuff. Right Iris?

Iris: Of course. The Seven Deadly Sins in the land of Britannia were the greatest warriors that ever existed. They defeated the Demon King and the Supreme Deity. Peace was then finally brought to all the races and everyone lived how they wanted.

Mizuki: Hey Big Brother, you have any ideas for a story you want to write? No need to rush or anything.

Adrian: I have an idea involving a strange thing I see in my dreams.

Iris: What is it?

Adrian: It's weird empty place that lacks, stars, time, and gravity. Yet it seems to be full of energy. I find myself drifting in it and can sometimes see something in the distance.

Iris: That would be a very interesting story to write.

Mizuki: Yeah, I'd definitely read that book.

Mizuki and I continued to spend time with Iris: Watching TV, eating Ice Cream, and even entering a virtual simulation of being on the moon. Mizuki enjoyed floating around in low gravity while I was sitting on the edge of a crater with Mizuki. I still feel warm when I'm with her. She's angelic, one thing I'll agree with the many commenters on her streams. Mizuki floats next to us and it seems she has something to say.

Mizuki: Are you two going to kiss?

I blush immensely and look away.

Adrian: No! Why are you always like this?

Iris: I wouldn't really mind it Adrian. If you want, we can do it right now.

Adrian: Why do two always do this to me.

Mizuki and Iris were laughing and the pat me on the back to assure me that it's okay. I honestly didn't know how to take it other than while they do tease me, they weren't trying to be mean. I get a message from Mom that she's on her way back and show it to Mizuki. Mizuki and I say bye to Iris and we go to our apartment.

Mizuki and I read the book on the Seven Deadly Sins and we go over the arc where the Seven Deadly Sins fight the Demon King and being peace to Britannia. Mizuki's favorite part was Meliodas and Elizabeth finally becoming free of their curses and finally able to live happily ever after. Mizuki wanted to read the Penultimate chapter where the Seven Deadly Sins battled the Supreme Deity to ensure that peace remained, but we heard knocking and I go to check the cameras. I see that it's mom and open the door for her.

Adrian: Hi Mom.

Mizuki: Welcome back.

Mayvin: Glad to be back. There were a bunch of accidents at the labs.

Adrian: Accidents!?

Mayvin: Nothing serious, just equipment malfunctioning. A researcher got hit in the head, but they're okay. I had to help readjust things and attend meetings after that. I'm just glad to be home.

Adrian: Glad to hear that things weren't to bad for you. How is the project going?

Mizuki: And we're calling it that since you never told us the actual name.

Mayvin: It's progressing smoothly for the most part. We're developing new engines that will allow us to travel beyond the Solar System. We might even go to Alpha Centauri one day.

Mizuki: When that day comes, will you take us?

Mayvin: Of course Mizuki. I'd never leave my kids behind.

Mizuki hugs Mom and I join in. Mayvin sits down on the couch and sighs in exhuastion. I decide to order pizza. Mizuki and I sit down beside her and we watch TV together.

Mizuki: Hey mom, Adrian got a new teacher who asked him about his favorite story. You know what his favorite story is.

Mayvin: The Seven Deadly Sins. That story just came to me one day, but I'll admit I did read a lot of books when I was a kid so I didn't just lucked out with the wording and the pacing.

Adrian: Still a little suprised you went from being a story author to being a UAC Head Scientist.

Mayvin: Well, after I got that story out of my system, I wanted to focus on a second dream on mine: Going to the stars. But don't get me wrong, you two are the greatest things that have ever happened to me.

Mizuki gets Mom's back and they move around. I try to get away, but they notice me.

Mayvin: You ain't getting away from this, Adrian.

Mom moves toward me and grabs me. We all playfully struggle until we fall back onto the couch and laugh.

Adrian: Look at us. The perfect odd family anyone has ever since.

Mizuki: And we're proud of it.

Mayvin: I love you two. Nothing will ever change that. I hope you both can understand.

Adrian: We do.

Mizuki: And Adrian wants to write a book just as great as yours.

Mayvin: Well, take your time and just focus on still being a kid. You'll have plenty of opportunities to get inspired.

The three of us eat and watch a movie before we go to our rooms and lay down. I look outside my window and see the city of Edge. All the signs, cars, and building lighting up the city in the night. I then look up at my ceiling and slowly close my eyes until I fall asleep.

I open my eyes and find myself in a strange room that is full of medical equipment. I get up and walk out of the room to find a hallway is white with a lack of decorations. I hear movement coming from the left side and go to check it out. I walk and see a man with grey hair walking foward down the hall.

Adrian: Excuse me. Do you know where I am?

The man turns and I look at his face which shows signs on tiredness. However, he looks at me and smiles.

Clifford: About time I saw you again, Adrian.

Suddenly, I end up in a strange place that has metal-like substances, but empty and silent.

Adrian: What the?

I suddenly wake up and pant as I look around and see my room and the photos of Mom and Mizuki.

Adrian: Who was that? How did he know my name?

Mayvin POV:

I was outside Adrian's room and was watching him through the crack in his door. I heard him talk about meeting someone his dream that knows him. And I have a strong feeling that person was more than just a stranger that you dream up.

Mayvin: (Whisper) I love you Adrian. Go back to bed.

I walk away as Adrian lies back down.
