"We have some breaking news! ", exclaimed the male news reporter on t.v. as a picture of a well known scientist came up behind him on the screen.
"We have received word that possibly about ten scientists have been reported missing in the past few days all over the country. No one knows where they have gone and it seems like the only people that have gone missing are scientists. "

The news reporter turned towards his fellow colleague, and she began to speak :

"More information coming up, after this break. "

With a smile on their faces, the cameras zoomed out and started playing the news theme. It wasn't long though, before those irritating, never ending advertisements started popping up.

Billy, Medusa and Sarah sat there on their sofa in their hired flat for the summer holidays, shocked after hearing the news. Silence hanging like fog between them.
It is now a year that they have been close friends since the Dire Wolf incident.

Medusa finally broke the silence:"Scientists? ", she asked, to no one in particular.

Still confused themselves, Billy and Sarah nodded.

"Why only Scientists? ", she asked, now looking at her friends.

"Don't know ", replied Billy, absent mindedly, still wondering why it's only Scientists that are going missing.

'Yes! Why scientists? ', thought Sarah. 'Why is the news about scientists grabbing at my interest like this? If they mentioned police or doctors, I wouldn't feel the same as I am feeling now. Would I? '

Suddenly it came to her! It grabbed her interest because she, along with Medusa and Billy , want to become a Scientist.

Her thoughts along with the muffled voices of her friends, were immediately silenced as the news theme started playing again.

"Well hello! And welcome back to the News 24/7. I'm Bob and this is Cindy, bringing the news from this country to you !"

"Okay! We heard you before! ", shouted Medusa at the two news reporters who were unaware of her irritated anger towards them.

Sarah couldn't blame her, it irritated her too.

'Why can't they greet once at the beginning and carry on with the news after the never ending breaks? ', wondered Sarah shooting an annoyed look towards the t.v.

Finally, after a few annoyed words and shouts from Medusa, which seemed to annoy her even more, came the well known phrase they were all waiting for :
"And now ,back to the news of the missing scientists! ", exclaimed Cindy.
"There has been word that possibly 10 scientists could have been abducted. No one knows why or where they have gone."

Ten pictures of the scientists who were reported missing suddenly came up on the screen. The three children scanned through the photos until they came upon two that they knew.

"Hey! That's John and Maddie Tyler!", exclaimed Billy, pointing to the screen.
"What?! ", exclaimed Medusa in surprise.

"Adam Mitchell, 30, last seen at a cafè. John Tyler, 16, last seen with his sister Madison Tyler, 15, at Stanford High's laboratory. Tshegofatso Noko, 29, last seen at Yale University...", on and on went Bob, until he mentioned everyone.

The camera zoomed out once again and the news theme played.
The camera man zoomed in on the weather interpreter after the theme song was over.

"Can you believe that?!",cried Medusa in excitement, after switching the t.v. off.
"John and Madison Tyler abducted! "

"I know right! ",exclaimed Billy, equally exited and amazed.

They turned to Sarah and saw that she was busy thinking and trying to work something out.

"What are you thinking about Sarah? ", asked Billy.

"John and Maddie were abducted at the school's laboratory ,right?"

Medusa and Billy nodded, still not sure as to where this was going.

"But it's summer holidays. What were they doing there? ", she asked, looking at her friends with a confused expression.
