CHAPTER SEVEN: EMO CRUSH WITH AN UNSUSPECTING KISS

April 18, 2005

 It’s now late April, and No Rules had their third CD (their first as an 8-piece band), Redemption, released in Britain. Their comeback CD has charted at number 1. They’ll be releasing their CD in a few weeks. Their single, Okay, was a huge hit worldwide. Now they’re beginning promotions for their latest single, Fearless.

 NR are at a meeting with their managers. Peter began: “So far, your comeback album is a huge hit in Britain. It’s already becoming your second gold album, after your debut CD. Because of this, Logan and I are allowing you to start writing songs for your fourth album. You will still have the producers from England, but the fourth album will be entirely written by No Rules. Since Erica is new, the producers will need to see if she can write songs. Any suggestions?”

 Edward suggested, “We want to do a heavier punk-rock-pop for our fourth album. It’s risky, but we feel this will make us even bigger.”

 Logan said, “I guess we could do that. Now another announcement: No Rules is having second European tour. This time around, you’ll be performing in arenas. If this tour sells well, we’ll turn it into a world tour.”

 Peter said, “And you’ll be having backup dancers, too: Four girls and four guys. Any questions?”

 Ashley asked, “Yes. Can Alex choreograph the tour?”

 With that, Alex had a shocked expression on his face. He exclaimed, “Me? Choreograph the tour?!”

 Ashley beamed, “Yeah. Alex, you’re the best dancer in the band, and you’re our choreographer. So it makes since that you should choreograph for the tour.”

 Peter said, “That’s a huge responsibility. Are you up for the challenge, Alex?”

 Alex stammered, “Erm, I-I’ll t-try. N-No, I-I’ll d-do i-it.”

 After the meeting was over, the members went to a nearby Starbucks. Charlie got up to Alex’s face. Alex, visibly annoyed, asked angrily, “What do you want now?”

 Charlie asked with an irritated tone, “Punk-pop on our fourth album? You choreographing the tour? These are your ideas, aren’t they, Walsh?”

 Alex taunted, “Maybe they are, maybe they aren’t. Why? Do you have a problem with it? Maybe you want to leave No Rules?”

 “Oh, you’d like that, yeah? Well, I’m staying!”

 With that, Charlie stormed off, and Sophie gave Alex a hug and a kiss.

 At another table, Erica was sitting with Hannah and Mariana. Eriica was staring Alphie (Alex/Sophie), flirting with each other. Then she blurt this out: “I love Alex.”

 With that, Hannah and Mariana stared at Erica.

 Hannah asked, “Did you just say that you love Alex?”

 Erica’s face grew red when she realized what she just said out loud.

 Mariana commented, “Alex’s with Sophie. You do know that, yeah?”

 Erica sighed as she said, “I know, it’s just that Alex’s been unbelievably nice to me since I joined the band. I’ve actually gained feelings for him, even though he’s taken.”

 Hannah said, “This can’t be good. You better not say anything.”

 “I won’t.”

 It’s now May, and No Rules are very busy. They’re heavily promoting their latest single, Fearless. Their third CD, Redemption, is gold in most countries; in Britain, they’re now multi-platinum. They’re busy rehearsing for their up-coming European arena tour, The 2005 Redemption Tour. They’re busy writing songs for a future fourth album. (Erica got the ‘green light’ to write songs. Her work was considered similar to Alex’s work, but not as dark.)

 And on top of that, they’re filming season three of their TV series Dare 2 Dream. And if any member is really busy, it’s Alex: He has to choreograph the entire tour. His work is considered very good, but there’s a lot riding on this gig.

 The members were on a morning show, performing their latest single. Once again, they had a live band; Alex and Edward are the lead guitarists; some choreography; and this song had Sophie and Erica singing.

 When the song was over, Erica approached Alex, and kissed him…on the lips! Alex was taken back by that, so pushed her away. Everyone was shocked, including the members. The cameraman got closer to Alex’s face for a reaction, but he camera away from him, and stormed off stage.

 A few minutes later, the members went to their dressing room. (Erica decided to stay outside the room.) They found Alex, sitting on the floor. He looked like he had tears on his face. Sophie gave him a hug.

 He said to her with his voice wavering, “Sophie, I have no feelings for Erica, okay? She came on to me.”

 Sophie “I know, Alex. I saw it.”

 Charlie taunted, “Hey Walsh, I bet you liked Erica’s kiss.”

 With that, Alex got up, and got to Charlie’s face. Alex told him furiously while gritting his teeth, “I’ve had it with you! It’s been five years, and I’m not tolerate your shit any longer! I’ll do whatever I can to kick out of No Rules!!”

 Then Alex stormed out of the dressing room.

 It’s now evening, and the members were in their house. They had an entire day of tour dance rehearsals. Alex kept his cool, but Erica’s kiss kept him mentally occupied.

 As the members were about to eat, Erica decides to try to talk to him. She approached him, and said, “Alex, I’m sorry for what I did. I don’t know what came over me. It just happened.”

 Alex said nothing. She asked, “Are you gonna say something?”

 Alex said to her coldly, “I don’t think we should be friends. I have a girlfriend.”

 Erica said as her voice wavered, “But I’m sorry! It’s just that I fancy you! Not like some crazed fan-girl, but I like you as a person. You’re unbelievably sweet, and that slowly turned me on.”

 “We’re not friends anymore. End of story.”

 With that, Alex stormed off; leaving Erica close to tears.
