Ion Fortuna
When I woke up, I noticed I was in my room, which was more like a broom closet. You remember how small Harry Potter's closet was? That's about two times the size of my room. At least I was allowed to decorate the way I wanted to. My sheets and walls were dark purple, but you couldn't see the walls very well with all the portraits and photos of me and my friends hanging around district 12. They were like collages on purple paper. And the carpet was soft and black. At least there was one place where I fit in.
When I turned the light on, I screamed.
There was someone on my bed.
"Sssshhhhhh! Quiet! Please be quiet!" said the stranger. I finally stopped screaming when I heard footsteps running towards my room.
"Get under the bed!" I whispered to the stranger. He did as he was told, and right as he was under it, the door burst open.
"Myranda! Are you alright? What happened?" Sierrah screamed, then ran over and hugged me.
"Nightmare?" Kathryn asked.
I nodded. I hated lying to them, but I had to see what that guy under my bed was here for, and I didn't want them scared to where they couldn't sleep. One of us may get sent into the games tomorrow, and that person would need they're sleep.
I looked at the clock on the shelf on the other side of the room. Midnight. The reaping was at noon.
"You guys go on back to bed. I'm fine. Wake me up at eight and we'll go hunting before the reaping." I said.
Sierrah started to protest, but Kathryn grabbed her arm. They left the room without another word, closing the door behind them.
"You can come back up now, there're gone," I told the stranger. He came up slowly, as if trying to tell me he came in peace, but I wasn't so sure.
"Who are you, and why are you here?" I asked slowly.
"My name is Ion Fortuna," he said, "and I'm here to help save your life."
