It took a few minutes, but Abel finally returned. He walked over to Kathryn and put his right hand on his chest.

"I apologize for making you wait. Shall I walk the young lady and her friends home?" Kathryn was going to answer but she was way to flustered, and it was way too obvious. So, being the awesome friend I am, I answered for her.

"No thanks, um, Mr. Nightroad." He turned to me.

"Please, call me Father Abel Nightroad." There was no way this guy was a priest, but I'll go with it.

"So yeah, like I said we can handle it Father."

"If you were to be caught then I could take the blame and you three could get away unharmed. Please, just let me do this much." Abel smiled, and it seemed as if the whole forest lit up with him. Even though he was strange, I had to admit, he was incredibly handsome. He did have a point. The last thing I needed was to get caught in the forest again.

"Fine, but only because we need to hurry and get dressed for the reaping."

"Alright," he turned and started walking towards the fence. Kathryn was right behind him, and wouldn't stop staring at him. They were followed by Sierrah, who looked very skeptic towards him. I just rolled my eyes as followed them, hoping that these new strangers would keep their promises to protect us.
