Chapter 16❤

"And I love you,

With all of me,

So be my baby.

Would you be my baby?"

I literally stopped in my tracks as the melody drifted through my ears. The soft strumming of a guitar was so beautiful and hypnotizing, pulling me towards the heart of the music.

Soon enough, I found my ear pressed against the door of Tommy's room as the intoxicating melody continued,

"I know it's been a while,

Since we last saw eachother.

But I'm asking this question now

And I want an honest answer.

I love you,

With all of me,

So be my baby.

Would you be my baby?"

If any boy sang that to me, I would most definitely be their baby!

I meant that in the most romantic way possible.

Finally, I turned the brass handle of the door and was greeted with the sight of a shirtless Tommy, legs crossed, guitar in hand, sitting on his bed.

I had seen his chest before, but only the top- so the view of his abs were really making my knees weak.

I hadn't even noticed he had stopped playing before his voice snapped me out of my trance.

"My eyes are up here Tam," he teased.

But my eyes were still pathetically trained upon his chest, if only I could just touch-

"Huh? What?" I tardily responded.

"I said-"

"Hey? What does that say?" I interrupted him, as I spotted a tattoo by his lower abdomen.

It looked like a series of swirls but as I moved closer, realised it said words.

"Oh this old thing? Nothing." he said nervously.

Tommy and nervous? That was new.

"Doesn't look like nothing to me." I replied suspiciously.

"It really is." he corrected eagerly.

I walked closer to his figure, still eyeing his tattoo.

"Please let me see," I begged.

"No." he said, not missing a beat.

I was about to pull the puppy dog cared when-

"Don't even think about it." he warned.

Dang it!

"I'll tell you my tattoo if you tell me yours," I tried to reason.

"You have a tattoo? Tammy Lovell, the girl who can't even swear or lie to somebody's face."

"Yes, I do."

I was reluctant to show him mine, it was embarrassing really. And no, I did not get it on one drunken night, I never drink, it was just silly me being silly me.

I pulled up my top to show him.

"Are you being serious?" he hissed.

My tattoo was of an infinity sign with the letters N and T in each loop. I bet you could guess what the 'N' stood for.

"I'm still saving up to get it removed."

"You got that idiots initial permanently etched onto your skin." he continued.

"Maybe one day I'll meet another guy with N as a first initial?" I reasoned.

"How can you be so stupid Tamara?" he shouted.

I flinched as he used my full name.

"I was 16 years old, gullible and naive and I thought I was in love." I replied.

"You thought you were in love? Lord have mercy." he said, rubbing his forehead.

"I don't know why you're getting so mad about this, it was my decision and now I have to face the consequences."

"And does he have the same tattoo?" he asked, his jaw now clenched in anger.

"No."

At that he cursed loudly.

"Take a chill pill, if I'm not mad, you shouldn't be." I said annoyed.

"Whatever."

Oh so now he was going with the short and curt responses?

"What's your tattoo?"

He simply slightly pulled down the waistband of his jeans so I could read it fully.

"I can't remember to forget you." I read aloud, before I could ask what it meant, he opened his mouth again.

"Happy now?" he snapped.

"If you're going to act like this over something so stupid, I'll just leave you alone now." I snapped back.

"Go ahead, be my guest," he smirked.

"I will you Jerk." I hissed, pushing his chest and stomping towards the door of his room.

I hadn't seen that Tommy for a while, the last time was the day he threw me into the pool.

All I can say is that I hadn't missed it one bit.

With one last look at him, I slammed the door and ran to my own room.

----

After exiting my bathroom to do some... feminine stuff, I went back to my bed.

No, if you were thinking that kind of stuff then I urge you to go to church this Sunday, but let's just say that Mother Nature had made her great return.

I buried my face in my duvet, the scent of Tommy still lingering in the sheets.

Tommy.

He had some serious apologizing and cream cheese puffs buying to do before I forgave him. It was none of his business if I got a tattoo with my archenemies initial on it, if I could accept it, he should be able to too. I still couldn't fathom why he would act like that.

I reached underneath my bed and pulled out the mahogany box that I kept there. I had decorated it with sticker jewels and other decorations, making it look more personalized, I kept the key beneath one of the loose floorboards in my bedroom, which was conveniently also underneath my bed. Of course, my family being the way they are, had continuously tried to open my box, but they could never find the key- due to my inconspicuous hiding place.

I heard the 'click' as the key turned and I lifted up the lid of the box. Inside the lid was a picture of Lucy and I on our first sleepover night, we had played dress up, or rather been forced to by our crazy parents, I as Ariel, my sparkly tail laid out in front of me and my feet poking out on either side, and she as Belle.

It was quite blatant that our outfits should have been switched as Lucy had the red hair to match Ariel and I had the brown hair to match Belle, but we must have been oblivious to that that day.

Our makeup, of course done by our fabulous make-up artist selves, was terrible, smudged all over our faces, giving us the appearance of clowns that had been banned from the circus.

Still, after all these years, whenever I looked at that picture, I couldn't help but smile. I lifted out my sketch book and my pencil case of art supplies and began drawing away. The first image that flew into my head was Tommy's toned, muscular chest and I soon began to sketch exactly that, even trying my best to copy the tattoo from memory.

I had done a rough outline and was beginning to add details (of course I wouldn't be able to finish the sketch in 10 minutes) when I heard a knock at my door. Before I could grant their permission to come in, the door opened, revealing a distressed looking Tommy.

Instead of snapping at him to get out, I simply closed my sketch book and looked at a poster of The Wanted on my wall, ignoring his presence as pointedly as I could.

"Listen Tammy-"

I interrupted him with a loud sigh.

"I--"

I began to hum a song.

"Hey, isn't that my song?"

I immediately stopped my humming, mentally cursing the song for being so catchy.

"Finally, a response."

"What do you want?" I snapped, still looking at the poster.

"I just came to apologize okay?"

"Well get on with it then." I urged.

"Would you look at me?" he pleaded, his voice soft.

Feeling my defiance weaken, I turned to look at him with a raised eyebrow.

Wherever this Tammy had come from, I liked it.

"Thank you, I'm sorry for acting the way I did, I overreacted and it's none of my business what you destroy," he coughed at his mistake, " I mean put on your skin. I just know how much of a jerk that narcissist is so I got angry. Especially as it sounds like he just took advantage of you- he didn't get a tattoo so why should you? Anyways, yeah I'm sorry." He finished sincerely.

"What about-"

"Yes, I'll get you your cream cheese puffs tomorrow,"

He knew me so well.

"Well in that case, apology accepted." I said, jumping up to give him a hug.

"So the way to your heart is by cream cheese puffs, not like I didn't know that already, but I'll keep it in mind." he winked as we pulled away from eachother.

Now this is the Tommy I know and love.

And I meant that in the least romantic way possible.

I hope
