Mutant heroes are present in many different forms of media and the galaxy's greatest comic has their own: Meet the blank eyed Johnny Alpha, the greatest bounty hunter and member of the Strontium Dogs!

In the year 2150; a nuclear war wiped out 70% of Britain's population and also led to a huge increase of mutant births due to the exposure caused by this nuclear fallout. The mutants faced a high degree of racism and laws were passed mutants from owning businesses and segregating them into ghettos such as a giant mutant settlement at Milton Keynes. In the year 2180; the only jobs left for the mutants was bounty hunting, which was considered too dangerous for humans. The strongest of the mutants hunt down criminals throughout the galaxy for the Search/Destroy agency, their distinctive badges have earned them the nickname of Strontium Dogs. The SD agents operate from an orbiting space station known as The Doghouse; one of these mutants is Johnny Alpha, a mutant with the power to see through objects and read people's minds.

Johnny relies on more just his powers; he is armed with high tech weaponry such as a variable-cartridge blaster, electrified brass knuckles (also known as Electroknux), a short-range teleporter, a "time drogue" that can briefly "rewind" the last few minutes of time, and "time bombs" which can transport somebody minutes or hours forwards or backwards in time (by which time the planet has moved along in its orbit, so that the victim reappears in empty space).
