Reaping

Time had come and it was reaping morning in district 7. I knew my chances were low, but I didn't want to jinx my luck.

I got up and threw on a black lace dress which was my mothers when she was younger. I matched it with some black sandals. I then took the braids I had slept with out and let my hair fall in small waves cascading down to the middle of my back.

Once I made it to the reaping, they started the same boring speech they give every year. Just standing there, I could feel the nervousness floating around.

"This years female tribute is... Leah Morris!" I looked around for the unlucky person this year but, then realized that's my name. I'm the unlucky person. I was scared and couldn't process what was going on. I made my way slowly up to the stage and it just hit me. I'm going to be district 7's girl tribute, and I'm going to die.
