There are certain people in your life that you can just read like a book. Everything about them is familiar... it's comforting. They, essentially, could be considered your soulmate. Nothing about the relationship has to be sexual or romantic, there's no rule book which enforces that rule anywhere. It's often rare to find someone who simply just encapsulates your entire world with just their being, without wanting something in return, or using that fact to gain something for themselves. What's even rarer is being that person to your own person. Ask anyone that knew you, they would say that Raven Reyes was that person for you; she was your soulmate, and you were hers, without a doubt. It's also often difficult to hold that said person back when they really have their mind set on something, but it's often done for their own safety... and possibly someone else's. There was no one else that you trusted more, and there was no one else that you would have gladly gone to war for, no one other than Raven. With all that being said, she did have to hold you back at that moment. Granted she did so with a laugh and a grin on her face, but she held you back nonetheless.

One of the Arkadian women had made a snarky comment about the way Raven had done something. Deep down, you knew that the woman wouldn't have made the comment if she knew that Raven had been the one who had done it. You knew that the woman didn't know who it was that had actually planned that particular thing, so the comment wasn't directly aimed towards Raven. But, it was said while you had been in hearing range, and you did know that it was Raven who planned it, you had been beside her when she did. It was an accident, as the woman had said multiple times with her eyes squeezed shut in fear that a fist would collide with her face, after all, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but this woman had somehow managed to dig herself a grave and land herself on your 'kill list'. The room wasn't busy to begin with, but people did begin filing into the room once you slammed the wrench onto the work table and slowly turned around with that deadly glare you wore quite often, your eyes targeting the woman who stood behind the two of you. The room, still not entirely busy, fell completely silent, which the Arkadian woman picked up on straight away.

For Raven, it was difficult to hold back the snort of laughter that bubbled up her throat as she smirked and turned around to face the woman as well, crossing her arms over her chest while she leaned back against the table that she and yourself had been working at. It was in that moment when people caught sight of you, and the expression that you had, that they realised the woman had unknowingly insulted Raven and her work, something none of them would ever want to do while you or Raven were around. The woman spun around slowly, her dark-red hair falling into her face as she did so, and she looked at you before quickly looking away and over at Raven, who still seemed to put her on edge, before the woman was glancing back at you as you slowly stepped closer to her.

"What the hell did you just say?" You spoke in a low voice.

"Oh, no... I-I just... I was just—" The woman stuttered out a response, shaking her head quickly.

From the corner of your eye, you could see that Clarke walked into the room once it was obvious that something was going on because of the growing crowd. Her eyebrows were furrowed and confusion was on her face as she turned the corner and paused, looking directly at the woman and yourself before she looked over at Raven, knowing that she was never too far behind you at any given moment. Clarke tilted her head before she realised what was happening, and quickly sent Raven a look which clearly stated 'deal with this now'. You were talking too quietly for anyone else to hear once you had stepped close enough to the red-headed woman that your noses could touch. It was clear, judging by the look on the woman's face, that Raven, and everyone else, didn't think that you were talking about rainbows and world peace. Clarke glared at Raven once more and Raven rolled her eyes, knowing that she was going to have to interfere with your plan to break the woman's neck.

By the time she stepped closer and wrapped her arms loosely around your waist to pull you away, you had pushed forwards. Raven's arms had tightened around your waist before you could get your hands around the woman's neck, and she pulled you away, lifting you up from the ground slightly as you kicked and yelled out in anger. You couldn't stop yourself from laughing, which didn't seem to be the reaction that everyone else was expecting—it was no doubt making them more uneased by your presence than they already were—while Raven began to drag you out of the room. As Raven did so, a few other Arkadians quickly got out of her way.

Once she got out into the corridor and placed you down on the ground, your laughter had died down. She watched as you huffed and straightened your jacket before you looked over at her. "Only a psychopath would have laughed like that. You know that, right?" She raised an eyebrow.

"If the shoe fits." You shrugged. "Tell me you haven't forgotten why I was sent down here as a prisoner, Ray."

"How could anyone forget the face of a mass murderer?"

"Are you actually asking me or—?"

Raven grinned and slapped your arm, rolling her eyes. "You didn't have to do that, you know?"

"I did. She was wrong. I went over your plan about twenty times and there was nothing wrong with it, but, clearly, there's something wrong with her. I mean, what does she even do? Plant seeds in a pot? Her intelligence doesn't match up to yours, she had no right to say what she did."

"Thanks," she spoke quietly, smiling faintly over at you.

"Clarke's going to have a field day with this," you commented, changing the topic, causing Raven to grin. "While I was talking to Red, I could see, from the corner of my eye, that it looked like all the veins in her head stuck out."

Raven crossed her arms over her chest. "Just one. Right here—" She moved one of her arms to poke the side of your forehead, trying to point out where it was before she moved her arm back.

"Want to hide and break a few things for a couple of hours before Clarke finds me?" You suggested, knowing that Raven wouldn't want to go back into the room where she wouldn't be able to concentrate because of the staring and whispering.

"Only if we are breaking something of Wick's."

"Of course."
