[BB] History Buff.

It had been raining outside. Slow claps of thunder cracked down from the dark sky which was covered in a thick coating of dark grey clouds, and bright lines of lightning zapped down from the heavens. The roads began to slowly flood as people hurriedly searched to find shelter, the cars had submerged in a thin layer of water like a personal waterfall, and the soil was being pulled up due to the heavy downpour.

A small flower shop across the road had its small white and red striped fabric roof pulled in, the small pots brought inside and the clear window with a sigh reading: 'Jordan's Little Flowers' had its heavy shield placed down, to stop the power line across the road that started to sway from smashing into it.

Next door to that was a coffee that had its white and green fabric roof pulled in, it had brought the small tables inside, and the window saying: 'Green's bean's' had also been covered.

The whole town square had been closed and locked up. All the shops surrounded a circular park, with white cemented benches, plants, and bushes with bright coloured flowers, a water fountain that had been placed on each of the four sections separated with a pathway to a statue in the middle of the park.

Your small car was parked outside of the local museum that you took shelter in, you had planned to sketch the town with your notepad, pencils and watercolour pens for the day at the coffee shop, but plans had changed.

In the early morning when you woke up, it had been sunny, not the summer sun, but a nice glow to the day. It was a weekend so you could take the day as slow as you wanted, but so could the weather, therefore you decide to change plans and sketch the museum.

The museum took up one whole side of the road and went up a couple of floors high and below the surface. You had already been here before but never got to see the mythology section of the museum.

You clambered up the flight of stairs to the fourth floor from the ground level, it was just underneath the constellation floor at the top of the museum. You remembered that you went there the day after you moved to the town, you had your sketchpad that day as well and stayed for the opening ceremony at night when the observatory room opened its roof and you could see the stars from the spherical glass windows.

Once you reached the top of the stairs you noticed a small amount of people, it was mainly old couples sitting on a bench in front of one of the sculptures chatting away, or individuals who actually cared about the place and the arts. You walked past a couple of entry ways to different sections of mythology and went straight to the Greek mythology room, it was always your favourite, and luckily for you, it was also empty.

You walked slowly as you inspected the statues of Gods and Goddesses and occasionally read about them and scribbled down a drawing. You found yourself in front of the small stature, you had sat down and began to sketch a picture of it and took out your watercolour pens. It wasn't long before you had them all over the floor in front of you and one in your mouth as you concentrated.

"Did you know that Horme is the Greek spirit personifying energetic activity, impulse or effort or in other words 'to do a thing', eagerness, setting oneself in motion, and starting an action, and particularly onrush in battle? She had an altar at Athens, where mainly the divine servants and relations of Zeus including Pheme and Aidos, as well as Athena, had altars. Her opposite character is Aergia, a goddess of sloth and apathy."

You looked up to see a tall man with dark brown hair, it was slightly curly and looked a bit damp? He had dark trousers on with black boots, a black shirt with a dark checkered button up shirt thrown over the top unbuttoned. He had a black coat hanging in his grip in this left hand while his right hand was holding the bicep of his left arm.

You stared at him not knowing how to respond, he looked down at you with a smile. "And I guess I was graced with her presence, seeing as I got the courage to come over here and talk to you. That and I should thank Zeus for creating the rain and forcing me to come here today." His eyes crinkled at the side when he smiled and you dropped the pen out of your mouth with a small cough.

"Um no, actually I didn't know about Horme, but that's very interesting—" You paused for a brief second. "I'm sorry, I didn't actually know anyone else was in the room, I've probably made a giant mess of this place with my colours," you mumbled out your words trying to put them back in their little box to keep the floor neater. "Why don't you take a seat next to me? You know, if you want to, I wouldn't mind knowing more about Greek spirits." You smiled at him and he nodded his head lightly, the small droplets of water dropped off his hair and he sat down. His knee was touching yours and he looked over to your sketchpad.

"Can I see?" He asked pointing to your book, you mumbled a 'yeah, of course' and handed the book over to him gently.

He began looking through from the beginning and smiled at your work. You had drawn almost anything you could find, it differed from living things to inanimate objects. He had flipped the page onto a recent drawing you did.

"I see you have drawn Heimarmene, who is a Goddess and personification of fate and destiny, in particular, the orderly succession of cause and effect, or rather, the fate of the universe as a whole, as opposed to the destinies of individual men. Her name seems to be a synonym to other Greek terms for destiny and fate such as Aesa, Moira, Moros, Ananke, Adrasteia, and Pepromene." He looked up to you from the book.

"Yeah, and did you know that Heimarmene's name is speculated to have numerous different origins; some postulate it is derived from Greek word eirein, meaning 'to fasten', implying the significance of every event?" You started and the man turned to face you slightly with your book still in his hand. "The fact that we are all connected, or the fact that we are all bound to a destiny." He looked so fascinated with the way you spoke so passionately and how you also knew a bit about mythology. "Others suggest it is a participial form of the Greek verb meiresthai, meaning 'to receive as one's lot', which is derived from the same root as Moira 'fate'. It is likely that both are correct," you finished and looked at the statue in front of you.

"Wow, you know your stuff," he spoke softly and handed you back your book. "It was nice to speak to someone who actually knows about these sorts of things and doesn't pretend to know," he said sincerely and you smiled gently at him. "Who knows, maybe one day I will see you in another part of the museum?" He stood up and offered you a hand. You packed up your pens and book and grabbed his hand as he pulled you up off the floor. "May we meet again, Athena, Goddess of wisdom and crafts," he finished before walking away slipping his coat on without another word.

-

A week had gone by and you were back at the museum, this time it was a bright sunny day and you decided to go down to the Triassic era floor, three floors down from the main entry level. You never really knew how many floors there were but it was just one giant building of the past, it would never be big enough. You decided to go straight to the skeletons of the dinosaurs and got straight into drawing them. This time you only had your pencils with you, you didn't want to risk dropping your pens down into the displays and have people watch as you awkwardly fish them out.

"Did you know the smallest dinosaur egg found was only three centimetres long?" You jumped in your place slightly, you hadn't heard anyone walk up behind you, you knew the sound of his voice. You turned your head to the right see the same man standing next to you. "Hello again, Athena." He called you that last time you saw him. "What a pleasure it is seeing you here again," his voice was a lot deeper than you remember, however. But that didn't change the fact that it was still one of the nicest sounds you have ever heard.

"Hello again, Apollo, Greek God of knowledge and poetry." You smiled at him and looked down at your unfinished drawing. "Did you know that although the word dinosaur means 'terrible lizard', the name is somewhat misleading, as dinosaurs are not lizards. Instead, they represent a separate group of reptiles that, like many extinct forms, did not exhibit characteristics traditionally seen as Reptilia, such as a sprawling limb posture or ectothermy?" You glanced up at him sideways and noticed his head dip down with a smile on his face, his hands were holding the railing in front of the exhibit, and he slowly turned his face to you.

"Terrible Lizard? Really? I understand how they are not lizards but the whole 'terrible lizards'." He lifted his hands and used quotation marks. "Is a bit harsh don't you think?" You let out a small laugh as he made a face trying to defend the dinosaurs like they weren't that bad. He wouldn't be saying that if he lived with them. "Poor suckers. That goes with the whole ice age and explosion thing, not just the name." He twisted his upper body to you while leaning back slightly.

"Dude, they are dinosaurs!" You laughed out, probably a bit too loud seeing as a lot of people turned to look at you with a weird look, they must now think you are a dopey idiot. "Oh god," you mumbled out, a blush came to your cheeks as you turned to face the exhibit and bury your face in your book. "That was embarrassing," you whined slightly and heard the man chuckle. He placed his left arm over your shoulder pulling your body slightly closer to him, he rubbed your upper arm comfortingly.

"It's not that bad Athena, you could have said something like...Dinosaurs they are?" It came out more like a question because not even he could come up with a stupider thing to say out loud like an idiot. You groaned and pulled away from him stuffing your book and pencils into your bag.

"No offence, Yoda, but your words of wisdom aren't very helpful." He turned to face you, he leaned against the railing with his right arm leaning on it and his left hand holding his wrist. His face held a smug expression, when you looked back up to him from your bag you knotted your eyebrows together. "What did I say now?" He shook his head laughing.

"Nothing to fret about Athena, however, I'm not the Goddess of wisdom, you are. And off the record I am a great Yoda, you're just not a very good Jedi, you should listen to your master more!" He chuckled out and you followed your eyes stepping slightly away from the railing before bowing and replying with a lisped voice,

"Yes, master." One of your pencils fell out of your bag and you picked it up and stood back in your original place again. His smug expression didn't change. "If you dare say anything about how a good Jedi would have used the force to get the pencil, I will jam it into your eye," you playfully threatened with a smile on your face, he smiled back and raised his arms in defeat.

"I won't, don't worry, Athena." You didn't realise how long you had been talking until he checked the time. "It's almost closing time, we should start leaving, we wouldn't want to be trapped it here and experience 'the night at the museum' well, I wouldn't." He used air quotes again and you slapped his chest gently telling him to shut up with the shake of your head. "May we meet again, Athena." He nodded to you and walked off.

"May we meet again, Apollo," you whispered out, even if you did say it louder he wouldn't have heard you.

-

A couple of months had passed, each weekend you would meet up with your mysterious Apollo and chat about the exhibit and slowly go off topic. The museum was opened late for the observatory room. You planned on getting pictures of the sky and the stars to do some sort of art piece for it. The observatory was one of the most beautiful floors in the entire museum, it had small projectors that emitted small specks in the room that looked like stars, the walls were black and had tiny little lights in the wall that sparkled like the stars.

"My dear Athena. The stars don't shine quite as bright as the light that is trapped inside your mesmerising eyes. The moon can't capture that certain glow of your skin that shines like clear porcelain. Your voice is as melodious as the angels, your laughter brings more joy than that of a newborn child. Your beauty cannot be compared, your lips are the shape of a bow, and your wit is as powerful as the arrows. I long to hear your voice, to see your smile, to breathe while you breathe. I live for your life. My dear Athena," a gentle voice spoke softly into your ears and you knew it was him. You turned around slowly with a smile on your face. "Now I'm still working on it, it might not be good but I hope you like it so far," he said in a hopeful voice.

"My sweet Apollo. The days are not as long as I would like to be when I spend them with you. The seconds that I cherish and hold dear tick by far too fast, the minutes I count are mere seconds, the hours feel like minutes, and the day is only a short hour. I want to hear what your mind has to say, to feel your words as you play them to me. I want to know what you know and feel the sun that you bring. My sweet Apollo," you said back to him and he looked shocked. "It's not as good as yours, seeing as I wasn't prepared and had to make something up, I couldn't give you nothing in return for what you have said. Which was one of the sweetest and most heartfelt things I have ever heard, or that I have ever received even. No one has ever gone to such lengths to tell me something like that. Thank you, Apollo—"

"Bellamy. My names Bellamy, you can call me Bellamy. Or Apollo, I don't really mind," he fumbled out and began fiddling with the hem of his shirt. "And you know, we've known each other for a while and I just wanted to do something nice for you, I mean we don't really get to spend much time with each other. Would you like to meet each other at some point, you know outside of the museum?" He spoke quicker than usual.

"Bellamy." He looked to you and a smile played on his lips. "I would love to, you don't have to be nervous around me, I mean I yelled out 'dude, they are dinosaurs!' to you not long ago like an idiot." He chuckled at that and nodded to you agreeing.

You both had watched the constellation show together and managed to get some good pictures of it, along with some pictures of Bellamy. Some nice and others when he was making faces, or when he wasn't looking. Which might seem like something a stalker would do but he had seen them and said you could keep them.

-

It was the day you were going to meet him outside the museum for a nice day out. You weren't sure what he had planned but you made sure not to worry too much about it. You didn't bring much with you and packed light. You sat down on one of the steps of the museum and watched as people walked across the park on the opposite side of the road, enjoying their day out in the sun.

"Athena!" You looked to your right and saw Bellamy walking towards you with flowers in his hand. "I wasn't sure what flowers you liked so, I got one of each." He smiled and slowly handed the flowers over to you. "You look beautiful today," he commented as you took the flowers from his and smelt them. He watched you with a smile and held his hand out for you. "M'lady." He bowed his head, you had a light blush on your cheeks as you took his hand.

"So, where to Bell?" You asked, he looked at you and smiled without speaking and pulled you along with him. "Oh, I see, lure me away from witnesses to kill me huh. You know, I should have seen this coming," you spoke sarcastically and Bellamy chuckled, he slowly shook his head and glanced sideways to you, a small smile made its way to his face and he looked away once more to see where he was walking.

"I'm not going to kill you, Athena, I wouldn't hurt you. That wouldn't be a good start to the date, one alive and one dead, it would be a one-way conversation." You looked up to him and watched as his jaw fluttered slightly as he clenched his jaw while concentrating. "Besides, I like our conversations, I like it especially when you embarrass yourself by yelling out 'dude, they are dinosaurs' in front of a crowd. That won me over." He smirked slightly and you glared at him even though he wasn't looking then looked back in front of you.

Both of you had been walking for a while when he brought you to a small restaurant on the edge of the small town. He opened the door for you and you walked inside, it was slightly busy but not too much, and it wasn't too loud either. A waiter came over and showed you to a table, Bellamy had pulled out a chair for you to sit and slowly tucked your chair in. It wasn't long after arriving that you got your orders delivered, you both talked about how you moved here and what you thought about it.

He admitted that he had seen you around the museum before but never approached you because it was normally too busy and you probably wouldn't have heard him. As the dinner came to an end, he paid for both your meals and walked you back to the museum where he had parked his car, he said he would drive you home considering how you walked there and he wanted you to be safe going home at night. He dropped you off and mentioned how you should both meet up again, to which you agreed.

-

You had now known Bellamy for just over a couple of years, the first couple of months you met up every Saturday at the museum, after about six months you decided to hang out outside of the museum. You had met up with each other almost every weekend, most of the time you spent together was at the museum and the other times he had taken you to some little hot spots around the town that he had found since living there.

-

After a year and a half, he had asked you to be his girlfriend, he would send you flowers and small notes to you, he would always tell you how intelligent and how brilliant you were. Bellamy always made sure you were happy and would still tell you facts about the museum that you didn't know about, he was fascinated by the history of the town and general history that you would often call him your history buff.
