Dawn's POV

We venture out into the open today. We've had our fun. It's time for business.

Rafael's POV

Dawn wakes me up with a start. I yawn and stretch. "What do you want? It's only 8:30," I groan. "No sleeping now! Come on, come on!" Well, she's excited about something. Eh, it's better than third- wheeling Rodney and Tasha, who are, at the time being, the only other ones sleeping over here. I get to my feet and follow Dawn.

"What are you doing?" I say breathlessly as I try to catch up with Dawn (I've never been a huge fan of running or going fast in general). "And... Stop... Running... So... Fast!" I gasp, almost dying. (Fitness champion of the year!) "You're just slow!" She teases, skipping a bit to make her go even farther ahead.

After about 10 minutes, I manage to catch up with Dawn. I place a hand on her shoulder and she shrieks! (Forgot to tell one small detail: I had moistened my hand in cold water just seconds before!!!! Mwahahahahahahaha...) "That'll teach you to run away from me!" "Hey!" She screams, and disappears. She returns a few minutes later with a bucket of FREEZING water. "No! No... Save me!!!" I run as fast as I can, away from Dawn (a sentence I never thought I'd say), but I'm still not fast enough. Only moments later my entire body is drenched in ice cold, freezing water. I'm cold from the inside out... "Stop complaining!" I hear from Dawn. "I'm not!" I say loudly. All of a sudden we both stop in our tracks. "I didn't say anything," I whisper, almost inaudible. "Neither did I..." Dawn's eyes are as wide as saucers. "Rafael, you don't think..." I do think. I think with all of my might. Rafael, what does this mean? I hear in Dawn's slightly melodic, so familiar I might burst, voice. This can't be. It can't. It can't. It can't! This is just like Haven, Says Dawn's thoughts (?!) dreamily. Now all we need is the vampire. I wonder... I laugh out loud. "I'm not a vampire, Dawn." I can almost see her disappointment. But then she giggles. "It would make sense, though..." I laugh again and twirl her around. She laughs with me, and all of a sudden I know. This wasn't just a fluke. We made it to the pod for a reason.

Whitney's POV

I don't know where I am. All I know is that this wasn't where I was before. All I know is that I'm here for a reason. A name floats in my head. Whitney Casella. Whitney Casella. Is it mine? Is it someone else's? I don't know. All I hope is that whoever that is is safe, and if it's me, I hope that I'm safe, too.

Dawn's POV

What will it be? Where will it be? What's waiting for me? I skip along excitedly. I can't wait, either. But... Where are we going? Asks the new voice in my head, AKA Rafael! I don't think I could have a better one... Oh pineapples, he can hear this, can he? Oh gods, I should stop... But- a warm chuckle cuts me off. In my head. Bizarre, isn't it? Anyway... I can't wait to go out into the open! We've been hiding the last few days, but now it's time to explore! And discover! Yay!!!!! Oh, so that's where we're going. That makes sense. Wonder why she's so excited? I also wonder how in the name of Earth this works! This just defies everything, doesn't it? Oh, Rafael the science nerd. Eh, I'm the math nerd, which just might be even worse! But we need our math and science nerds to make this world great, so it's all okay! Why can't we just talk? Why do we have to thought speak? Why can we thought speak? There's too much to ask! I clear my throat. "You're right. We should just talk." Rafael smiles, but it quickly turns into a worried but somewhat thoughtful frown. "Dawn, do you know how this even works? I mean, you know. Everything's weird these days. But this? THIS is insane!" "I know," I say softly, leaning into Rafael. He puts his arm around me, and we stay like that for a long time.

Sadie's POV

I look out of the window. I found this place a long time ago. People don't really focus on me. I guess I fade a bit into the background. I guess this started when I started dating Adam. I think we were just together the whole time, ignoring everyone. Now? I just don't know. I put my head in my arms and continue to look out of the window.

[Months later]

I'm about to tear my hair out of my head. It's quite boring, actually. Being alone isn't very fun when you don't have anything to entertain you. As I try not to explode, I am aware of a presence near me. Oh, dang. I was out here too late. "Hello," says a voice behind my head. I can't turn around. She can't know. But, in spite of myself, I turn anyway. I see her gasp, utterly and completely shocked. Because this person? It's me.

Dawn's POV

Rafael and I sit there for a while. Don't know quite how to continue. This is just totally bonkers, you know? We must have gone nuts when we stepped into the pod. Maybe I'm just the one who went crazy one day and imagined all of this! I guess if I'm crazy, this is just about the best way it could work out! I agree, says the Rafael in my head, and I smile. Yep, this is a pretty great plus of a hallucination, if it is one! I feel Rafael smile next to me. It's not fake, though. You can't always assume it's not real. I mean, sure, you can be all philosophical and say nothing is real, but really, you can't be like that. Okay? Alright, Rafael. You win this time. I flip over on my side, and he smiles at me. We're just on a hill, lying down, staring at the clouds.

I like Dawn so much. She's so cute when... "Stop!" I giggle, blushing. He knows I can hear him. You're the one complaining! Do you realize how much YOU think about ME?! That's true... "You said it, not me!" "Ha, ha. Very funny. " (quick A.N. The joke was that I'm not really saying anything, I'm thinking it. Get it now? Haha I know it's not funny but laugh for me anyway! Cyborg280 knows all about that, right, Cyborg280 ?)

I gaze up at the clouds. I wish this could be the world. All happiness, no conflict. Nah, no, I don't. Conflict makes it exciting! Just gotta push T though it and get along with your life! Alright, alright, Miss Graduation Speech. Get along with the story. I grin, and turn around. Once we're face to face, we can't help but let instincts kick in.

I sigh. We can't just lie around here kissing all day. I have a mission, you know, I think to Rafael. FINE. We break the kiss, and I get up onto my feet, dusting myself off. After a moment of thinking to himself about things that I don't need to repeat, Rafael stands up too. "We're off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Oz!" We link arms, and we're off.

I don't know why I'm here, but it just seemed right. If I'm going to be here, and my suspicions are right, then she'll be here.

I get off the bus that somehow randomly appeared at my will... Interesting. ANYHOO...

I walk to the park, but still can't believe my eyes. It's her. It's really her! Even Rafael, who never even enjoyed her presence, is awed and relieved. How do I know? Because I know. I hear it. Exactly what I'm thinking.
