I told him everything that had happened. He listened to me, his face turning paler with every passing second.
He shook his head after I had finished.
He left the room. He didn't say anything.
As soon as he left, the room turned damper, and colder somehow. I leaned on the wall, and sat upright to support my body.
The cabin was lightly furnished, with a chair for a guardian, and a clock to check the time- except that it wasn't working. The entire place was white- ceiling to the floor. The tiles glistened in the white light, making the place look at the more like a hospital- giving it just the appropriate feels.
I felt scared somehow. I wanted Liam to be back. My rate of breathing increased, as did my heartbeat. I jumped in fear whenever I heard even the faintest sound.
I looked around and tried to make myself feel calmer and composed. I took in deep breaths, and told myself that Liam will be back soon. Why did I feel so safe around him? Why did I trust him so much? I haven't even known him for long.
He came back.
"We need to talk to my sister. I will not believe you until I talk to her and hear the truth from her myself." He said.
"And why would she tell you now if she hasn't for so many years?" I asked. He didn't reply.
"I'll be talking to the doctor about taking you back home. Then I'll be seeing my sister."
I nodded. "Fine."
He walked out of the room. And so did he warmth and the secure feeling. The room turned damp and cold. Again.
Someone laughed. The voice made me jump. I looked towards the source of the sound but nobody was there. I knew the voice- it belonged to him. Kumar.
You want to find Elizabeth and me? You will.
I heard his voice in my head. My head throbbed as I took in each word he said.
Just come to the villa. And come with Liam or William, whatever, please, baby.
"Why are you doing this to me?" I cried. "And where are you?"
He laughed in my head.
Look up. Look, look, baby.
He was hanging upside down from the fan. He grabbed my neck and pressed it hard, to choke me. I screamed with all my voice, and he laughed, as if he was enjoying it.
Then he let go of my neck. I painted, trying to catch my breath.
Soon he was gone, along with a gust of air, while Liam came rushing into the cabin. He had a nurse with him.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Are you okay?" She asked too. She looked at Liam the whole time though.
I nodded. The nurse left, after giving Liam a last glance.
"What happened?" He asked. The concerned look on his face made me happy for some reason. Maybe because it made me realise that he cared for me too.
"Kumar had come." I gasped. "He told me that we would find Elizabeth in the villa."
"Why would he tell us that?" Liam asked.
"Because they are together. And he said he would be found there too. With her." I added.
"I talked to the doctor. You can be taken home now." He informed me.
Great, I thought.
"Then I'll pay a visit to my sister. And ask her what's happening. I need to know the truth."
"I'll come too."
He shook his head. "You must rest."
"Me too." I added, again.
He looked puzzled. "You don't need to go." He said again.
"Come on." I pleaded.
"Why are you so keen on going there?" He asked.
"Number one, the villa is where we'll find them, and the villa is where I'll be resting. And number two-"
"What is number two?" He asked, frustrated.
"He said I need to come too."
