I decided to leave for hospital now. After all, I had a job that I needed to attend to. So after finishing breakfast, I took my car keys and ignited the engine. The engine roared to life. I drove towards the hospital, but today, the road seemed to be longer than usual.
Do souls really exist? I don't care. But will they hurt me? That's what I care about. I don't want anything to happen to me. I love my life. I am the only daughter of my parents. What will happen to them if I leave them alone in this world in this age? No I cannot die.
I realised that my car was becoming heavier and I had to soon drive it entirely in the first gear. Then the car came to a stop. I tried to ignite the engine again and again, but it just wouldn't start back again. I realised that my car's dynamo was gone. But how?
I looked around for help, but the place was entirely empty and lifeless, except for a church. All around me were lush green forests. It was weird, considering that a town was just nearby. I wanted to call a mechanic, but my phone received no signal.
I looked at the Church, which had a large and beautiful statue of Mother Mary at its entrance. The Church was quite large, and I decided to check it out before walking towards the town to find a mechanic. I was already late for work, and plus today's discoveries made me consider work as the most unimportant and useless thing in the world.
The Church was huge and dark, and a woman was seated there. The Church was otherwise empty. There were many candles lighted and I lighted one candle and prayed God to keep away all darkness and bad spirits away from me and my family and friends, which, I don't know why, included Liam aka William even though he is a spirit himself.
I turned to walk towards the confessions chamber where I could meet and talk to the Father.
The Father was a very humble person. "What confession do you have, my child?" He asked.
"Not a confession, Father, a question." I said.
"A question? Is it a very urgent one? You sound worried."
"Yes, a very urgent one indeed." I replied.
He came out. He was an old man, and a man of faith, since he wore a huge crucifix around his neck. He wore black and white robes, and his smile radiated warmth and gentleness.
"I, um, Father, I have a doubt. Can spirits talk? Can they touch, eat and sleep?"
He thought about it for a moment. "Yes." He said. "When a soul is pure, and is innocent, and is stranded on the Earth only due to an unaccomplished task, that is the Purpose, it can do all of the things you just said."
I nodded. Unaccomplished task? A purpose? What could be William's purpose?
"And the souls which can't? I mean, the souls which have to possess other bodies?" I asked, curious.
"Well, these souls are not good. They have done bad deeds, and need a driving life force to survive, which they suck from the bodies of the living."
Does this mean that Elizabeth has done something wrong too? I know what Pascal has done, but William didn't tell me anything about Elizabeth. Wait, what if he doesn't know himself? I needed to tell him this at once.
"Thank you Father." I said. He smiled back.
"Do you know how to um, you know, fight the bad spirits? Send them back to where they belong?"
He smiled again. "Child, this is the work of a priest. He commands them. Do you need a priest? Even I can help you."
"Can you help me?" I asked.
He nodded. "I'm the only priest in the town and nearby radius."
He removed the crucifix from his neck and handed it to me.
I exhaled warm air. "Thank you so much. I don't know how-"
The woman in the Church stood up.
"No, Father, you won't help anyone." She laughed. We both turned to look at the woman. She was young, in mid-20s, and very pretty. Her eyes were dark and lifeless, just like Anushka's used to be.

"I am Elizabeth Hargreaves, and Sarah, I don't need your body anymore, for I have got one, as you can see. But still, we would like to kill you for our personal satisfaction." She said, her voice sounding threatening.
Father read a prayer. She shrieked loudly, and I was glad when she fell to the ground.
"Is it over?" I asked.
"I think so." Father said. He went closer to the woman to inspect her.
Father yelled in pain as the woman drove a knife through his heart. No, not a knife. The butcher's knife. The knife which Kumar had used. I turned away.
"You will not be possessed by me, but I would like to take your life force away." She whispered.
At that moment I began to feel dizzy. I couldn't feel anything. I felt so numb. My head began to spin, and the world seemed to become darker and darker with each passing second. Is this how Anushka had been feeling the whole time? Suddenly my brain, my very soul felt blocked. I couldn't think anymore. I couldn't see anymore. It felt as if I had fallen into an infinite oblivion.
