Whether you like it or not, people would always remind you of that “THING” you do not like, it is now left to you to know how to
react. Here “the bullied” is your mind,
Your mind is responsible for your reaction towards people opinion and it is left for you to decide how you want to react.
There are two ways to react, the first is to give in to our bullies while the second is to fall our bullies hands.
When people comment on “that thing” and we feel and act hurt, dejected, sad, angry or even pay attention to what they say, then we have given in to our bullies.
When we ignore comments thrown at us from our bullies, then we have fallen their hands because we have not given them the reaction they want. Another way to fall their hand is to acknowledge that you are aware of what they said . So someone says you are skinny and your reply is "ohh, yes I know." You have fallen the person hand. You have to own it, own "That Thing".
Most of the times, the reason our minds behave the first way is because it has lost its confidence and we need to constantly talk to ourselves to build back our confidence.

Taking ideas from books, movies and other people, when people comment about “that thing” there are some cliché responses you can give or you can simple ignore.
Some of these responses are: “Ask Google”, “I was born like this”, “It is hereditary”, “Why do you also have (say their own “that thing”)”, “none of your business”.
SUMMARY:
You can either choose to give into give into your bully or fall their hands, it all depends on the BULLIED REACTION.
