Chapter 52~ Something Lost, Something Gained

I managed to get their minds off of the... carving-in-tree incident. We explored a little bit, finding places that we never knew was here. Daddy said that he used take walks through the forest and record the different life that lived here. Although, because he has been so busy, he hasn't gotten a chance to do so lately.

We did get a chance to see different animals from far away. Except for some bunnies, we came pretty close to them before they hopped away. Then we got to see a mama deer with her baby. It was so cute! We hid behind some bushes and kept really quiet. Alfred took this chance to take a picture with his phone, good thing the sound was always off.

"It's a Deerling and a Sawsbuck~" he whispered to himself.

When the deer strolled away, we continued on our way. The chirping of unusual birds caught our attention from up above. They were flying around and nursing their young.

"So many Pidgy~" Alfred was in his own world.

On the ground, I found different bugs. There were tiny ants and weird beetles, creepy spiders and adorable worms. The vines that were wrapped around my legs turned into extra arms for me. The snaked to the ground and carefully picked up a little pink worm. The worm inched around in the vine like a caterpillar.

"L-Look Daddy! I f-found a worm! I'm g-gonna call i-it Pinkie Pie. Ooh~ c-can I keep it?" I smiled.

He gasped, "Heavens no, Olivine put it back."

"But... b-but why?" I pouted with puffy cheeks.

"You don't want to take it away from its family, do you?" He reasoned.

I realized my mistake and immediately placed it back on the ground.

"I found a Heracross and-- OMG THAT LOOKS LIKE SEWADDLE!" Alfred whisper-shouted.

He was on the ground looking at a bug hangout near a tree. There were beetles and caterpillars everywhere. I ducked as a dragonfly zipped over my head.

"Ah~! It's a Yanma! There's so many bug type Pokémon out here." I think Alfred is losing his marbles.

Daddy hit Alfred in the back of his head, "We're not in a video game, come back to reality, you git."

"But they look so much like them!" He whined back.

To cheer him up, I decided to impress Alfred with my Earthbending. This also was an opportunity to show Daddy that I've gotten better at it. We strolled over to an open area in the forest so none of the life could get hurt.

I told them all to step back as I readied my stance. Keeping my feet apart and bent at my knees, I threw my arms downward but brought them back up in fists. This pulled the soft soil from its roots and hardened it into rock. I couldn't quite figure out how to shape it into anything, it was just a medium sized rock, a little bigger then myself. Then, an idea popped into my head. I widened my stance once more but placed more weight on my left side as I stomped the ground, the rock jumped into mid air. Next, shifting my weight to my right, I preformed a high kick and shattered the rock into shards. In retaliation from the force, I lost my balance and fell over, striking a pose to make it look like I meant to do that.

At least I fell over in style~

Everything was silent until the last shard fell.

"That. Was. Totally. AWESOME!" Alfred exclaimed, "It was like a Pokémon battle between Graveler and Riolu! I can hear the battle music now~"

Papa and I were confused while Daddy stood there looking a little annoyed.

"Battle Girl Olivine sent out Riolu! Riolu used rock smash!... It's super effective!" He expressed his emotion with fist pumps.

I giggled at his childish nature, I really like that about him. Even though he doesn't quite understand how Earthbending works, he still loved it. Daddy praised me for my performance and told me that I have done well. The truth is, I haven't been practicing since the last time I was over here. I think it has something to do with my new form.

~ Tee Hee! ~

The sun signaled the coming moon and we trekked back through the forest. All this Earthbending has worked up an appetite, along with swinging from the tree tops.

However, Cody is in big trouble. That Pedo! I don't even remember when he did that. I know it wasn't recently, the indention it made has aged. But still, I can't explain him to them! It's too early... they might think that I don't need them anymore. Then again, Cody thought the same thing when he confronted me about my new family. I don't want either party to think that I don't need them anymore.

We decided to take a detour through a quiet creek. The slightly steep hill wasn't as slippery as I thought. The calm rushing of the water reminded me of when Cody and I would step on the slick rocks to cross over. When one of us fell in, we would just laugh it off, even if one of us got hurt.

I demonstrated the correct way to cross the creek, dancing along the way. The rocks were small enough for my little feet but big enough to secure my foothold. Alfred followed behind me, acting like an action hero doing cool stunts. Daddy didn't want to fall in and get wet so he refused to cross. Papa had other plans, he grabbed Daddy's hands and took him step by step across the flowing channel.

"What are you doing, you frog?! We are going to fall in!" Daddy panicked as he held Papa's hands for dear life.

"Lighten up Angleterre, live a little! A little water never 'urt anybody. Plus, if you fall, I fall," Papa teased with a cheerful tone.

They were halfway across when Papa pretended to slip just to agitate his lover.

"Francis I've got you!" Daddy gasped as he held onto Papa's arms.

"Aww~ you're worried about me. I knew you cared," he teased, kissing his forehead.

"Sh-Shut up! I just didn't want you to fall..." Daddy mumbled, blushing madly.

Someone's a tsundere~

"Get a room you two!" Alfred scoffed.

I playfully punched his leg. Since I'm closer to the ground, I can't reach his shoulder.

Once we were all on the other side, we followed the familiar trail home. Daddy was still barking at Papa, but Papa just smiled and teased him. They have an odd relationship, but it seems to work for them. After all, they're still together.

Deep down, I think that Daddy really does care about papa, he just doesn't want to admit it.

We chatted the whole way back, it was mostly Alfred explaining Pokémon to all of us. I instantly became curious about it and all the different creatures there were to discover. Also, the different regions that are based off real places in the world. There were so many different types that were best and worst against other types, the stories seemed to be well planned out, and he also explained that the graphics were best for each generation. Lastly, he told me that no generation is best, it all depends on the person.

Alfred said that he would teach me how to play when we get back to the house. Daddy wasn't on board with the idea, he doesn't want me to turn into Alfred for some reason. But Papa said that it would be a great way for us to bond as siblings. I haven't spent a lot of time with Alfred because of my poof-ing powers, this would be a great opportunity while I'm still here. Daddy sighed and gave in, Papa was right.

I think Papa is Daddy's soft spot~ hehehe!

"Olivine?" Papa asked.

"Hmm?" I looked at him.

"What gem iz on your chest?" He asked with a soft smile.

I looked down and traced over its surface, "I think i-it's Olivine. Olivine is a m-mineral but it can a-also be a gem. M-My friend Xero e-explained that to m-me."

The area grew dark faster than expected, it became hard to see. The trees were covering the sinking sun's light, making the light green life turn to a sleepy blue. Alfred turned on the flashlight from his phone and waved it around. Daddy and Papa did the same thing. Their lights soon became the only thing we could see. We didn't plan on staying out this long, we lost track of time.

"Stay close to me Olivine," Daddy warned.

"O-Okay..." I held onto his pant leg.

A few more minutes of walking endlessly, Papa stopped and stated a good point.

"It's so dark, 'ow do we know where we're going?"

We all realized that he was right. Everything looked the same, even the bushes look similar to the last. The trail that we were following just looked like grass and fallen twigs. It's amazing how you can lose your way so easily in the dark.

"I guess we're sleeping out here!" Alfred concluded nonchalantly.

"That will be our last resort, I don't plan on going primitive," Daddy told.

"But do you 'ave any ozher ideas, Angleterre?"

"...Not at the moment..."

What am I doing! This is my chance to save the day! Like the PowerPuff Girls!

"I h-have an idea, b-but you have t-to trust me," I announced.

They looked between each other then focused on me.

"What is it dudette?" Alfred was all for it.

I took a deep breath, "I c-can take us b-back home, but y-you have to turn o-off your flashlights."

They were a little stunned for my request. Daddy seemed to understand what I was implying, but he was still a bit hesitant.

"But we won't be able to see where we're going," he spoke soft.

"Trust me, I-I wouldn't let y-you wander around i-in the dark," I spoke in a confident tone.

They were still a little uncertain, but one by one they each turned off their lights. When the area was darker than black, I closed my eyes as something green illuminated the night.

"Woah..." I heard them gasp in awe.

Taking light steps, the path to the house became clear to me. My companions followed behind me with complete trust. I fluttered my eyes open to see the trees glowing green as I strolled past them, the grass illuminated the ground with every step I took. The winding forest turned into a simple road leading back home. Nothing could break away the rhythm that I shared with the Earth.

"That's it my darling, trust yourself. I am always with you, guiding you to your haven," The soothing voice echoed in my head.

"Remember that you are stronger in your Nature form, don't forget to listen to your surroundings."

Then her voice disappeared.

The forest was silent except for the rhythmic chirping of the crickets and our low footsteps. To ease the silence, they started conversations behind me. I didn't need total silence, it was getting a little creepy. Scary things happen when the area is quiet.

Off in the distance, a lone wolf howled to the moon. It echoed among the tree tops and rang through the night.

"Ah! Hold me Iggybrows!" Alfred yelped, holding onto Daddy's arm.

"America, you're fine. Get off of me," he was ice cold.

"I don't wanna get eaten out here~!" For setting a hero image, Alfred is a real scaredy-cat.

"We'll b-be okay Alfred, m-my light will k-keep them a-away," I reassured.

Cody would save me again anyway if we were attacked. I know he's around her somewhere... that Pedo. I'm going to smack him for what he did.

"I w-wouldn't let a-anything happen to y-you guys," I turned and smiled at them.

They always protect me, it's time I protect them!

~ Watch out for Slenderman... ~

When we finally made it back to the house, my Nature form wore off. My regular clothes returned to my body with a "poof!" Although, I was left feeling super drained.

Why does everything I do cost a lot of energy?

In the house, my tired body didn't make it upstairs. I plopped right on the couch and listened to the conversations of the room. My eyes couldn't stay awake but my mind still listened. It sounded like Papa was starting to make dinner and Daddy was probably going to take a shower. I couldn't tell where Alfred was though...

Someone lifted my body before placing me in their lap. When I opened my eyes, I found that it was my favorite American.

"Going to sleep already? I still have to teach you about Pokémon!" He insisted.

"S-Sorry, I'm not u-used using my b-bending abilities and m-my new form. Magic r-really drains my e-energy. Can I t-take a nap? Do y-you think you c-can teach me about i-it after dinner?" I apologized.

I made myself comfortable facing him as a really sad look grew on his face. He was pouting and instantly made me regret saying no.

Only I should be this adorable when pouting!

"I'm r-really sorry! P-Please don't be s-sad!" I hugged and squeezed him tightly.

"I'll only forgive you if you call me Onii-sama," he requested.

Without much thought, I gave in, "Gomen ne, Onii-sama."

He stared at me with starry eyes. Then his face softened as tears welled up in his eyes behind his glasses.

"You're so fucking adorable..." he whispered.

"No I'm not..." I denied as I hid my rosy cheeks.

"Kawaii na~" he nuzzled my face and held me tightly.

"Stop it~ it's embarrassing~"

"You're so kawaii as fuck~ but don't repeat that~"

"Alfred~!" I tried to wiggle from his grasp, but he was too strong.

He laid me on the couch before his fingers traveled up and down my sides.

"Waaaaaasha washa washa washa washa~" he chanted as he ticked me, finding my every weak point.

"S-Stop~ I w-wanna nap~" I giggled.

"Nope! Call me Onii-sama!" He teased.

"Onii-sama~!" I pouted while trying to catch my breath.

"You're just making yourself more adorable," he was really enjoying this.

I couldn't speak from my laugher. The feeling rushed through my body, I couldn't escape his wrath. When he finally let me breathe, he pinched my cheeks and laughed to himself.

"You've got chipmunk cheeks! You're so cute~"

"N-No I'm not~"

"You can't deny it, it's a fact!"

"Onii-sama!"

"Imouto-chan~"

We heard a french laugh in between our dispute. We stopped our actions and turned to the sound. Papa was leaning against the counter and seemed to be laughing from our scene.

"It's been so long since I've 'eard zhat sound," he calmed down.

"Wh-What sound?" I scooted away from my tickler.

"A child's laugh," Daddy smiled as he came down the stairs.

~ After Dinner ~

Alfred taught me all about Pokémon and the order of the regions. Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos! He explained that Unova is based off of New York City, New York in the USA and Kalos is based off of Paris, France.

Then he taught me about the eighteen types of pokémon: Normal, Fire, Water, Grass, Electric, Ice, Fighting, Poison, Ground, Flying, Psychic, Bug, Rock, Ghost, Dragon, Dark, Steel, and Fairy. I made sure to listen closely and take in everything that he told me.

"Now, there are two types of 'special Pokémon' that everyone goes crazy over. They're called Legendary and shiny. Legendary Pokémon are harder to catch and they can really make you want to use your Master Ball on them. Those battles can be nerve racking, especially if you keep killing them... damn it Mewtwo..." He seemed a little upset.

"Shiny Pokémon are only special because they are a different color than normal. They don't get special moves or abilities, but they are really really hard to get if you don't trade. Well, unless you're Asian... they're always one step ahead of me. Along with the Koreans..." He's really starting to put hisself down.

"C-Can you show m-me your team?" I asked, changing the subject.

"Oh yeah! They're so cool and powerful!" He smiled as he opened his already active device.

It had dual screens, four buttons on the right that read "X, A, B, Y" and lower was the power
button. On the left was a circle pad thingy and a pad going in four directions- up, down, left, right. There was a switch thingy on the top screen that read "OFF and 3D" Lastly, on the bottom were three buttons that read "Start, Home, Select." But there also was a thing that said "MIC."

"Onii-sama, wh-why does the o-outside look so w-weird?" I finally spoke the obvious question.

"First off, this system is the Nintendo 3DSXL. I got the Gamestop exclusive- NES edition. Therefore, my 3DSXL looks like the NES controller," he informed with a satisfied face. He then stared at his game, letting the music play. His hair hid his eyes as he softly closed the system, tracing over the surface in a reminiscent manner.

"Seeing this print beings back memories for me. NES... That system make me fall head over heels in love with Nintendo. That was a time when the cartridges were big and there wasn't an auto save option. I still remember when they released it in American stores... October 18, 1986. That's how I got into Super Mario Bros and experienced how amazing fun it was. That 8-bit game... it was everything to me. Then in 1989, I got the Gameboy. I still have it at my house and it still works too! And then~ in 1998, Pokémon Red came out. And thus, my life as a Pokémon trainer began."

It took me a while to take that all in. I only asked him about the design, but he told me something that was precious to him. I think I understand his love for video games now... even though I only understood less than half of what he said. However...

"Y-You said that y-you still have y-your Gameboy, do y-you still have y-your NES?" I held onto his arm.

He flinched a little and bit his lip. He looked as if he was about to cry. But after a short breath, he answered, "England and I had a fight long ago. In retaliation, he took it away and hid it from me... he won't tell me where it is. He always said "It's just a video game, you'll forget about it when you're older." But he was wrong, he didn't understand. I will always remember. I will always remember that they saved..."

He didn't continue his sentence. I heard him sniffle and saw him bring his sleeve to his face. He stayed like that for a little bit until he looked at me and smiled.

"I'm sorry, I'm not acting like a big brother should. I'm getting way too emotional about this," he wiped his naive tears and tried to convince me that he was okay.

"It's o-okay Onii-sama, you c-can be emotional. B-Boys can cry t-too! You d-don't have to t-tell me what h-happened," I squeezed his arm.

He peered down to me and said, "Let's just say that I went through a phase that all teenagers go through. And hey... when you get older and start to feel depressed, come to me... okay? I don't... I don't want to see you go through that alone. I've only got one sister."

I wasn't sure what he was implying, but I still agreed. That seemed to make his woeful look disappear and make his usual childish grin burst through the cloudy skies.

"Now, let me tell you about my super awesome team."

I started off in Sinnoh, my starter was Chimchar. I have traveled to Unova, Kalos, Johto, Hoenn, trying to get to Kanto from Johto (HeartGold And SoulSilver players will understand. All the wild pokémon are too under leveled to gain enough EXP! It's taking so long to level up my pokémon -_- )
---
I love it when Olivine says "O-Okay" and how the first letters look like the emoticon "O-O". So I imagine Olivine making a O-O face. (I know, my humor is weird.)
