Chapter One
Aria was roaming the grounds of the castle. It was around midnight, and the princess couldn't sleep. She flipped her fiery red hair over her shoulder, and turned down a familiar corridor. Suits of armor were spaced at intervals all down the hallway. Between them were large windows looking out into the royal garden, the only place that the princess could relax. Moonlight flooded the hallway as Aria hurried to the end of the corridor, and opened the large doors at the end. She quietly stepped into the garden and breathed in the cool night air. The moonlight was reflected in her bright green eyes as she strolled dreamily to a bench hidden by tall shrubs and bushes. It was close to the doors in case someone were to be in the garden with her, but sheltered enough that they wouldn't see her. She sat down and closed her eyes. She must have finally fallen asleep because she awoke to a loud thud in the middle of the garden. She didn't want to give away the fact that she was there, but her curiosity got the better of her. She knew it couldn't be a fallen tree limb, because the staff always kept the garden immaculately trimmed. The princess knew it had to be some sort of creature or animal. The thud was too loud to be anything human. She made her way over to where she thought the sound came from. She brushed aside a couple of large ferns, and gasped! Standing in the middle of the garden was a large dragon!
