Chapter 8

Lisanna's P.O.V

So this birthday did not go well as planned.

I paced inside Lucy's condo unit for the past hour. I had to cancel the party saying I had the flu. Good gracious, the paparazzi will be at my neck tomorrow. Luckily, I trust the company to deal with this if ever the press come up at my door step and bombard me with questions.

On the other hand, I don't know what to make of Lucy's state. I may actually need to call some help for this.

After the little fiasco, I had to call in the bodyguards to clean up whatever the heck just happened. At this moment, "the woman with a plan 24/7" has no trick up her sleeves. I had to call the girls so we could all sort this out.

I also called the guys, they'd be here soon.

I took another look at the pamphlet seated across from me. This is beyond sinister. Who ever did this deserve to get his shit beat up real good. I fondled with my gloves, playing with the smooth cloth wrapped around my arm.

Nervous? Me? Never. Or at least I think I don't. I'm a woman who knows no fear. But yet, why is it so hard to ring up his number? This could have been dealt with long ago but I guess things just find a way to resurface.

I paced again, over and over. One thought in my mind: to call him or not.

I gripped the phone I had in my hand. Bitting my lip, starring down at the screen. I kept my promise to Lucy that no matter what would happen, I wouldn't ring him up. Ever. But sometimes, drastic times call for drastic measures.

I pressed the caller ID. Mentally, hitting myself.

"Natsu. I need you over.  Now."

Erza's P.O.V

Canceling the party was done in a snap of my fingers. Although, the press will be up my fucking throat the next day. Tch, they're as pesky as flies on a pie.

We all gathered into her condo unit, soothing Lucy as much as we could. Levy took he liberty to make us drinks. Four cocoas for Lucy, Mira, Levy and Lisanna and a hot mug of coffee for me. Levy truly has a knack when it comes to knowing her friends.

Who the fuck would even do this? This is just fucking sick. I got the call, not a moment to soon. Carrying Lucy all the way to her condo unit was no trouble at all. Now, all we have to deal with is the damn pamphlet.

This was something that should have never gotten out in the first placed. Only a few actually knew the truth with Lucy's disappearance of almost a year. If the press ever knew, it would be hard to cover it down. Heck it would be even harder if he knew what was going on.

Sipping into my coffee, I saw Lisanna walk out of the kitchen with her phone in her hand and quietly slipped away from the crowd. Strange, she rarely takes calls. Must be something personal. So, I turned away and focused on Lucy.

"Lucy," I called out, snapping her out of her dazed form. She looks fine compared to when we saw her about an hour ago.

"Yes?" She replied. Looking up from her hot cocoa, given to her by Levy who rubbed her back in a slow motion.

I took in a deep breathe and stared at her deeply. I know it's been three years or s but honestly, I think it's time everyone knew about that faithful night.

"Lucy," sucking in all the courage I could, I looked at her straight in the eye and said, "I think they deserve an explanation".

Lucy looked away. I know it's hard to talk about it but they have to know about what happened. I don't think hiding it will help her anymore. I've seen my strong and beautiful friend slowly crumble bit by bit. Day by day. I don't think we can handle seeing more of this façade.

"Lucy, what's Erza talking about?" Levy looked at her in the eye. Her eyebrows scrunched up in confusion. It took a lot of courage for Lucy to tell us about it. Heck, one year. It took her that long to open up the topic.

"I guess it's time you guys finally knew what happened the year after I disappeared. That one year I cut off all contact to all of you".

She wasn't looking at us, but I could already tell this is going to be very difficult for her to tell us what happened back then.

"It's okay Lucy, you can tell us." Mira said, slipping herself into one of the sofa's next to where Lucy was placed.

Stirring her mug with the small spoon, she took in a very deep breath and just let it all out. Lifted her head up high and looked at each one of us individually.

"I have a daughter".

I could have sworn, Levy and Mira dropped their mugs in an instant.

"What?"
