it's not weird at all
-
you watched the way chaeyoung's eyebrows furrow as she stared at the bouquet of chocolates sitting on her desk. she only noticed, then, that you were laying comfortably on her bed, a smile gracing your lips as you continued to stare at her adoringly.
chaeyoung raised an eyebrow. "what is this, chu?" she asked, gesturing towards the bouquet.
your grin didn't falter as you got up and spoke. "chocolates?" you returned, chuckling lightly. "what's the point of giving flowers to a girl on the first date when she can't eat them, right?"
rolling her eyes, chaeyoung placed her bag down on the chair as she took the bouquet of chocolates off her desk and handed it rather forcefully to you. you frowned. "hey!"
"i need my desk to study, kim jisoo. go bother me later tonight after you're done with your date."
you stared at her in disbelief. is she still actually thinking these are for jennie when it's sitting right on top of her desk?
you seriously can't believe how stupid this breathtaking goddess could get sometimes.
but you loved her for it.
"babe," you tried to call for chaeyoung again, but she only reached for a bunch of books from inside her bag before plopping down on her chair and started flipping on the most random of pages. "those books were the ones you used last semester, chaeyoung. don't test me or i might just do something we both wouldn't like."
chaeyoung turned around to face you, cheeks a little flushed because you just caught her red-handed trying to find excuses to ignore you. however, she scoffed, raising an eyebrow at you in an attempt to come off intimidating.
"and what would that something be, exactly?" she challenged.
bouquet of chocolates still in hand, you retorted in the same tone. "i'm going to ask jennie out."
chaeyoung rolled her eyes at you. "haven't you already?" she bitterly spat before standing up and attempting to exit her own bedroom.
however, she was rather abruptly stopped the moment you let the next words roll of your tongue.
"i'm going to ask her out instead even if i was intending to ask you out in the first place."
you watched as chaeyoung instantly froze in her spot, one hand holding onto the knob of her bedroom door, her back facing you.
you waited for her to turn around and say something, but she didn't, so you decided to take matters into your own hands and continue speaking in the lowest voice as you took painfully slow steps towards her.
"and i'm gonna ask her to help me make you jealous just so that you'd realize how much you want me, and that you never want to see me going out on a date with someone else besides you."
coming up behind her, you pulled her by the arm to spin her around so that she's facing you, and you swore you intently felt the butterflies using your organs as punching bags the moment you met each other's gazes.
"chaeng," you said, taking a deep breath as you let your hand rest firmly on her arm, the other still holding the bouquet of chocolates you bought for her.
she looked at you expectantly, eyes turning a little glossy as her gaze held the same intensity as yours.
"these aren't for jennie." you trailed off, gesturing towards the bouquet you're holding. "they're for you." you watched the way chaeyoung gulp, trying to tear her gaze away from you but miserably failing, nonetheless. she bit her lip, eyes turning even glossier as she continued to stare at your chocolate ones intently. "take it as however you like, and think of it as whatever you want it to be. but, i'd really like to ask you out on a date," you smiled, that lopsided grin that always sends her blushing like crazy. "and by that i meant you and i; jisoo and chaeyoung." you smiled at her unsurely as you finished off. "you know, if it's not too weird?"
you weren't able to register chaeyoung's reaction anymore, as you, instead, felt her instantly wrap her arms around your neck, pulling you in for the sweetest and most passionate of kisses. it's nothing like the one you shared back at lisa and jeongyeon's party. rather, it felt like kissing her again for the first time.
you know, butterflies and fireworks and all.
chaeyoung didn't completely pull away when she stopped kissing you to gasp for air. instead, she leaned her body even closer to you, closing the remaining distance between your bodies as she rested her forehead firmly against yours.
you fluttered your eyes open, only to see her smiling at you widely, tears starting to roll down her cheeks, but you knew they were happy tears.
you knew because you just felt your own starting to fall from your eyes, as well.
"it's not weird at all, kim jisoo." chaeyoung mumbled softly with a giggle before smashing her lips against yours once more, and you had to let go of the bouquet in your hands to be able to hold onto her waist tight.

"dawg,"
the familiar voice caused you to turn around once again, only to find lisa walking up to you with a grin. you smiled at her back, hitting one final spike of the volleyball in your hands before officially wrapping your afternoon practice up.
turning back to lisa, you wiped the dripping sweat off your forehead as you went for your duffle bag sitting on one of the bleachers of the gym. "what's up?" you asked, reaching for your phone when it suddenly chimed, signaling a text.
"there's this new club opening up two days from now. jeong says it's one of her old friends', seulgi, and i'm here once again to ask you to join us." lisa said with a huge grin plastered on her face. she walked up to you, wrapping an arm around your shoulder as she spoke. "jennie and tzuyu's coming, too. why don't you bring chaeng, as well?"
you felt your lips tug to your eyes the moment you heard chaeyoung's name. ew, that's so cheesy. yet you didn't mind. in fact, your grin even turned wider than it already is the moment you saw the said blonde's name popping on the tiny screen in your hands.
chaeyoung: hey, babe! prof said he'll dismiss us early today. take me out on a date?
you felt your heart pounding from extreme giddiness, the same time you hear lisa groan behind you in faux-disgust. "ugh, all these cheesy texting stuff going on right in front of my salad. what a time to be alive!"
smacking the back of her head lightly, you chuckled as you typed in a response. "shut up. it's not like you don't act all whipped when it comes to jendeuk. that girl's got you wrapped around her finger, we both know."
jisoo: woo me a little first, park chaeyoung. i'm not as easy as you think.
"you shut up." lisa returned, smacking your head lightly as well before gathering her stuff up. "anyway, you and chaeyoung, when are you gonna finally admit that you two are already a thing?"
you turned towards her, confusion evident in you features. "i thought everyone already knew we were dating?"
your statement caused both you and lisa to laugh, as the contrast of your previous gym conversations with her and the one you're having now is unquestionably unmatched.
"no shit, sherlock?" lisa laughed, trailing after you as you both headed for the locker rooms to wash up.
you heard another chime coming from your phone, so you immediately opened it up to read what it says.
chaeyoung: fine. then, don't. i'm just gonna go ask someone else.
jisoo: you don't have anyone else besides me.
chaeyoung: well, i hate to rain on your parade, but a lot of guys actually started asking me out when the word that we aren't dating came out a few weeks back.
jisoo: alright, now. don't play that ridiculous jealousy game on me again, park chaeyoung.
chaeyoung: shut up and take me to dinner.
"so it really is official, huh? does that mean the great kim jisoo who 'doesn't do crushes' finally admits that she does after all?" lisa asked with a teasing smirk plastered on her face, immediately pulling you out of your trance.
you chuckled one last time, typing in a simple evil smirk emoji as a reply to chaeyoung's last text message before shoving your phone back inside your duffle bag and heading for the showers.
"well, not if she's my girlfriend now."
