One day, when she finally decided to show up, I spent time with her as usual. But when she stepped in front of me I gazed at her one last time before speaking,
'Clara..'
She turned around and smiled, 'Hm?'
'I've got to leave-' I began.
'Already?' She asked.
I sighed and then looked her in the eyes, 'Forever.'
She gasped and her eyes welled with un-fallen tears.
'We'll meet again.' I said.
'Don't know where? Don't know when?' She asked frantically.
'But I know we'll meet again, some sunny day.' I assured, not sure if that was for myself or her or towards every lover I've had throughout my time.
I was trying to hold back my own tears. I was struggling to keep my composure and stay standing there, I knew I just couldn't live without her. I had to stop myself..
She ran forward to hug me one last time and without thinking, my fingers tightened around the blade behind my back. The next thing I knew Clara, my Clara, had fallen to the floor. I fell to my knees and buried my face in her chest as tears fell from my eyes.
I couldn't stop myself, why did this have to happen. This has replayed so many times and I still couldn't change this fate.
