Next day sanyu slowly stirs in her sleep and turns to find rd but his side of the bed was empty, that's when her phone starts ringing, without opening her eyes she receives it

Saying that she slowly sits up and opens her eyes to see that their room was filled with helium balloons of red and black color and a few letter balloons which spelt happy birthday

Rd-you liked it?

Sanyu-loved it, but where are, you were supposed to be here

Rd-I promise jaan, it will be worth your wait

Sanyu-tch, ok just come fast I want to tell you something

Rd-what?

Sanyu-just come and then I'll tell you

Rd-ok, fine, but you have to get out of the bed right now and get ready and go to your rehearsals and meet me at dad's house

They cut the call and rd who was waiting at the airport fully disguised, smiles at his own words, if someone had told him a few years back that he would be saying " I love you" to a girl, he would have smashed that person's head against his vanity van but now he was saying it and he meant it every time he says that and it was all because of her, who came to his life uninvited and became an inevitable part of his life.

Shekhar starts walking towards the exit when rd walks to him and greets him

Rd-hello un...I mean sir, I hope your journey was alright

Shekhar(scoffs)-you booked a business class ticket for me young man, you should not worry about my comfort

Rd gives a sheepish smile and takes shekhar's luggage, but shekhar takes it back

Shekhar-its ok, I don't want a superstar to help me

Rd(taking the bag back)-I am not a superstar anymore sir they follow me for news these days, not because they adore me, so its ok.

Rd starts walking and harsh looks at his retreating back, he sensed the dismay in the young man's voice when he said that, and he felt bad cause at one point he thought that it was good that the boy was out of his daughter's life but its only now that he realized that this young man has lost everything he has worked on his whole life, that name, fame, respect, it was all gone and he thinks that it was a really big price for rd to pay for something he had no idea had happened in the past

He reaches the car where rd was keeping his luggage in the trunk and closes it

Rd opens the passenger door for shekhar and shekhar gets in while rd takes the driver's seat and drives off to shekhawat mansion, when they approach the mansion shekhar asks

Shekhar-why are we here, take me to my daughter

Rd-un...I mean sir, sanyukta is not at home, she went for an award rehearsal and after that she will come straight here, I hope you don't mind

shekhar just keeps looking at the mansion they were approaching towards, the car comes to a halt and rd takes the luggage and walks towards the house while Shekhar reluctantly steps out of the car and starts walking towards the direction rd went

rd rings the bell, a servant opens the door and takes the luggage from rd;s hand and shekhar could hear his ex best friend say

harsh-arrey rd beta, you should have called me na if you were staying with sanyukta, I was worried

shekhar(to himself)-wait, they are living together

rd looks back at shekhar with a tensed expression, while shekhar was glaring at rd

rd-amm, dad its

but harsh saw him, his best friend and there they were all old and devastated, looking at each other with their tired eyes, they both thought, this was not how they had thought their future would be when they were young, they were the living example of the words "man proposes, god disposes", they had thought their future filled with happiness and joy with their children having the happiness, but here they were trying hard to even look at each other let alone live together, both of them has lost their wife, but the thing was one lost his wife because of the other's wife and so he left her and standing in between them was the boy who paid the price for it all, may be even more than they did, the young man had been fighting a war with the world to grow up, just because the two elder men didn't get the life they planned for themselves

harsh says to shekhar who was now at the door, while shekhar just stares at harsh and then it happened, they both shed the first tear in their whole life after they both parted their ways

and in that instant they engulfed each other in a bone crushing hug as if they were trying to fill the gap that has increased between them in these past years

harsh-I am sorry shekhar for whatever happened, I had no idea this would turn out like this

shekhar-I am sorry too harsh, I am sorry for blaming you when you did nothing but help me

harsh-no, you were right to blame me, I should have stopped her, i...i

shekhar-its ok harsh, whats done is done, we cant change the past and we have lost the major parts of out life grieving over that, I want to stop now, I want to live the rest of my life happily , standing by my daughter's side along with my best friend

harsh-you have no idea, how much important these words are for me

rd was smiling at the little reunion that was happening in front of him and he was happy to finally see the two grim looking old face finally smile

once they were back to normal and were sitting in the living room, rd clears his throat

rd-amm, dad, un...I mean sir....pls don't tell sanyukta that you are here, I want to keep it a surprise for her

harsh and shekhar-ok

rd-ok, then you two continue with your talks, I'll be back

harsh-where are you going beta

rd-I have someone else to pick

rd goes to the door but was stopped by shekhar's hand on his shoulder, rd turns to face shekhar

rd-yes sir

shekhar-I heard you were living with my daughter

somehow that question left rd a bit scared

shekhar(squeezing his shoulder)-you better not

shekhar could see the sincerity in his eyes and so he slowly pats his shoulder and walks back inside while rd drives off towards the old age home

rd was halfway when his phone rings, it was sanyu, he switches on the Bluetooth

rd-heyy sunshine

sanyu-are you driving?

Rd-yep

Sanyu-ok, I'll call later

Rd-no no no, its ok I am on Bluetooth

Sanyu-no, I'll call later

Rd-its ok sanyu, tell me

Sanyu-my rehearsals are over I am going to dad's house

Rd-oh it got over early

Sanyu-yeah

Rd-ok then I guess you'll have to have your gift in halves

Rd smiles thinking about her reaction when she sees her father and he was sad at the same time coz he wont be able to see her reaction, he reaches the old age home and starts with the paper work

Here sanyu reaches the shekhawat mansion and she could already hear harsh laughing loud already

She enters the house

But she stops on her tracks when she sees the person who turned to her, she looks at her dad as if she saw a ghost

She didn't knew that she had started crying until she felt tears roll down her cheeks

And there she was, after a long gap of an year she heard him call her, she heard his voice and at once she ran to him and hugged him

Sanyu-I am sorry papa, I am really sorry to hurt you

Papa(caressing her hair)-shhhh, don't cry sanyu, pls don't cry, I was wrong too

Sanyu-I missed you so much papa

Shekhar-me too beta

Sanyu-then why didn't you call me papa, you know I used to call you everyday

Shekhar-but you would hang up before it rings

Sanyu(breaking the hug)-wait how did you........

Shekhar(smiling)-I was wrong about randhir, he is a good man

Shekhar-he came to see me yesterday

Sanyu-what! But he was.....(her eyes go wide) he travelled back and forth from delhi to Mumbai yesterday

Shekhar-yeah and he literally got mauled by our society people

Sanyu-he is an idiot

Shekhar-but he loves you(smiles)

Sanyu-so you are fine with it

Shekhar-as long as you are happy I am happy too beta and I know that he will do anything to keep you happy

Sanyu(hugging him)-thank you papa

Shekhar-but wait, I heard that you were living together?

Sanyu looks at harsh who was smiling and then at shekhar who was looking at her dead serious

And as if to her rescue, she hears rd

Rd-dad, did sanyu...(he enters and sees sanyu) oh you already here?

Sanyu just nods while rd smiles

Sanyu-thank you rd, it's the best birthday present ever(hugs her dad)

Rd-well that's just half of it, there is still the other half remaining

That's when parth and arpi enter

And they first looked shocked to see shekhar but then they smiled

Arpi-thank god uncle that you finally came, she used to cry like hell for both of you(looking at rd) I am so happy that now she will be happy

Shekhar-I know beta and I am sorry that I caused trouble for all of you

Parth-no uncle, its not a trouble at all, she is family now and so are you

Harsh-exactly

Arpi-hey sanyu...happy birthday

Parth-happy birthday sanyukta, kya yaar rd, I thought you were throwing a surprise party

Sanyu-party or no party, it's the best birthday ever

They all look at each other confused while sanyu goes stiff

And slowly walks in anju and at once harsh and shekhar recognize her while anju looks at both of them wide eyed
