PART 6 (old)
The weekend had been boring as hell. My dads were gone for their getaway-date that they went on once a month. That meant I had to stay home and take care of Darla. Don't get me wrong, I love my little sister, sometimes you just want to have some time for yourself. Especially since she has trouble sleeping at night and always comes up to wake me.
Now it was Monday, and I was ready to get out of my house. Dad and papa had come home late last night; laughing so loud I woke up from my deep slumber. It was okay though, since today is a short day.
I was wondering if Fridays encounter would make my group and Matteo's group friends. I hoped so. We will at least say hello to each other in the hallways, right? I didn't know, and the thinking about what would happen made me nervous, so I tried desperately to stop.
"Hey!" Amelia plopped up beside me. "You know that girl I've been talking to?"
"Yes."
"She's coming to our town next weekend!"
"Amelia, that's so great!" I smiled at her. "I'm so happy for you."
"Me too! I'm so nervous though."
Out of nowhere came Casey. She stopped in front of us nearly making me walk right into her.
"Don't be silly, you've talked to that girl for like a month. Aaaaand you've Skyped and everything. Now you'll just get to touch her." Casey wiggled her eyebrows, making me laugh and Amelia slap her arm.
"Exactly, as soon as I meet her I'll be touching her but and everything!" she stated sarcastically. Casey just winked at her.
"Where's Don?" I changed the subject, spinning my head around trying to find my friend.
"I dunno. Don't you guys have the next class together?" Amelia said.
"Yes, but we're supposed to meet before that so I can copy his homework."
"Why couldn't you do it during the weekend, or do it yourself?"
"I've had to take care of Darla the whole time, and Don didn't want to come over."
"There he is!" Casey's high-pitched voice soared through the air and I looked to the direction she was pointing. There he was, leaning against a wall behind a bunch of lockers. Boys were surrounding him, and I instantly recognized them as some of Matteo's friends. I looked at my clock to see that it's only five minutes till the bell rang. Rolling my eyes, I quickened my step and walked towards him.
"Don!" I said as I neared him. His head threw up and he instantly gave me a big boyish smile.
"Isn't it my fellow classmate? Just on time and all." His blue eyes sparkled in the sunlight when he moved to stand up.
"Cut the crap nut-head! You were supposed to meet me ten minutes ago."
"Hmm, I don't recall such statement." The guys around him snickered and I clenched my teeth together. Sometimes don was just too much of a sarcastic ass.
"Shut up! You knew we were meeting."
"Brynn, I don't' know what you're talking about."
"C'mon!" I begged. "I'm failing this class. Stop playing cool in front of your new friends." Now it was turn for them "oh" at him.
"I'm not playing cool!" whining like a big baby, he crossed his arms. God how I want to hit those freckles off his face right know.
"You know what? I'm going. You're not gonna get any help from me when it comes to English anymore. If you make me fail I'm going to make you fail." With that I turned my heal and hurried to class.
