PART 4 (old)

My head was dizzy and all muddled up as I walked out of the pizzeria, following close behind Matteo. He smelled of men's deodorant, a smell I've always loved.

He looked over his shoulder and right at me. I saw him saying something, but the late night fall-winds were too loud for me to hear anything. He stopped when he understood that I didn't hear him. The movement was so sudden that I almost walked straight into him.

"I didn't hear!" I said.

He lent in a bit closer to me. My heart stopped in my chest as I hold my breath. "Where do you live?"

"West blues."

"That's not too far from here. Maybe ten minutes?"

"That sounds about right." I said as we begun moving to his bicycle. It was red and pretty big, a bicycle basket hanged on the handlebars. He unlocked it and pulled it out of its parking spot. After he jumped on it he nodded his head at me, telling me to do the same.

I felt myself shaking as a placed my but on the luggage rack. I didn't know where to put my hands. It's not like I hadn't gotten a ride on someone else's bike before, it's just that this was Matteo. I didn't know what the fuck to do around him.

Finally I decided to hold my hands in front of me, gripping the luggage rack. Matteo looked behind him for a second to see if I was all good to go, and then he started pedal.

The wind around us was making it close to impossible for us to go any fast. Every few seconds it felt like the whole bike was going to fall over. There was only so many times I wanted to just grab onto Matteo and steady myself up. But of course I didn't.

I couldn't slow down my heart race at all, during the whole ride (that must've taken more than 10 minutes, by the way). I don't really know, though, if it was because of Matteo, or the fear to fall of the bike. Thinking back, it was probably Matteo who caused my almost heart attack.

When we were all settled and safe in front of my big house, I got of the bike. There was a short second of silence before I spoke.

"Well, thank you for the ride."

"No problem!" he smiled. "See you on Monday?"

"What's on Monday?"

He gave me a big toothy smile, and in that second I felt like the biggest idiot ever.

"School of course." I answered my own question. If even possible, he smiled even bigger. I gave him a playful smile back, before he waved and cycled away.

When he was out of sight, I let out a big breath. And with a happy smile plastered to my lips, I jogged to my front door.
