Eleven - Bathing In Comfort
"Looks like you made it in time today." The guy I sat next to in the bus yesterday stated with a small grin, a cheeky glint in his eyes.
I breathed out laughing, "Yeah, I'm not gonna repeat my mistake from yesterday."
"Better be careful." He agreed, tapping his hand onto the free seat next to him, "Wanna sit down?"
I nodded gratefully, slumping down next to him inelegantly.
The boy just snickered, placing his earphones back and averting his attention to the street outside of the bus, not bothering to make any more conversation with me (which I very much appreciated).
I leaned back in my seat, closing my eyes with a sigh. I stayed up till 2am today, just to get up at 6 and now spend a whole day with Jungkook - which I knew was gonna be one train ride, because apparently it always is with him.
I wanted to run back home and curl up in a blanket, just to do nothing productive besides maybe playing Among Us (yellow is my go to color btw).
But instead I was sitting in this crusty bus, on my way to another tiring day of school.
___
"Sup." I grunted when I entered the class room, dropping my bag next to Jungkook whose eyes shot up startled.
"Hi." He mumbled frowning, eyes scanning over my face, "You good?"
I nodded, not bothering to tell him that I was running on 4 hours of sleep after playing Minecraft the whole night.
As the day went on, I kind of expected Jungkook to bother me, like he always does, fumbling my hair from behind or whispering useless comments in my ear while taking in the majority of the table, but today Jeon didn't seem to be in the mood for his little games.
He kept throwing short glances at me, yes, but they were always accompanied by a small frown.
I'd like to mention that serious Jungkook was a sight to see, his frown, spiced up with his eye brow piercing and long locks falling into his face had something gloomy and intimidating.
But it was unusual non the less, I was so used to having wide-eyed, curious Jungkook that serious Jungkook was throwing me off a little.
Well, I was quick to find out why he was like that.
"Y/N...?"
"Hm?"
"Do you..." He blushed, "Have a boyfriend?"
"No, a girlfriend." I shot back, earning a deeply confused look.
"But you-"
"I'm kidding, idiot." I interrupted him before he could say anything embarrassing, "I'm as single as one can be."
"Ah." He said, then paused for a long time, though something was clearly bothering him, "...then... why do you always smell like this guy? Do you have a brother, perhaps?"
"No," I said confused, "I'm an only child."
"Sounds like heaven." Jungkook said dryly, "But then why do you always smell like the same guy?"
"Uhh-" I get that Jungkook's sense of smell was a lot stronger than mine but how the fuck did he know the gender of whatever person's scent was on me, "Dunno."
I thought for a moment wether there was a guy I was regularly spending time with before class but couldn't think of any. Then it dawned me.
"Ohh, yeah." I giggled, "Are you perhaps talking about the guy I was sitting next to in the bus?"
Jungkook blinked, "Bus? But it's... so strong..."
I shrugged, "Dunno, I'm not that good at detecting scents buddy."
He cocked his head to the side, wide-eyed expression back on his face, "Is he also a shifter?"
Woah there-
"Uhm, I don't know. I mean, I don't even know his name sooo-"
Jungkook nodded, chewing on his lower lip as if there was something on his mind, "Y/N-"
ding dong
He got interrupted by the school bell ringing, signalizing the end of a tiring day in class.
"That's my cue." I said relieved, jumping up immediately.
I saw the shifter opening his mouth to say something, but he didn't end up saying anything so I just took my bag and hurried outside, throwing a quick 'bye' at him.
I was already outside of the building when I heard Jungkook call my name, the boy quickly catching up to me, "Wait- Y/N. I wanted to ask you something else."
"What is it?"
"Can I-" His voice was awfully quiet, I noticed how he tried to hide his shaking hands, "Can I scent you?"
...
huh?
"Can you what again?"
"Scent you?"
"What's that?"
"You don't know-" He sighed, "Just- just watch, okay?"
He suddenly came very close, making me back off, "Woah there Jeon, what are you trynna do?"
"No it's-" He blushed, "It's part of the scenting. We- Shifters do that to, uh, do different things but it's mainly to comfort each other." He looked down embarrassed, "Please? Do you trust me?"
"Not really-"
He got closer again, one hand coming up to cradle the back of my head, making me stiffen immediately.
"Just relax... please." He whispered, lidded eyes looking down on me.
His face came even closer, until the tip of his nose touched my neck, right where it connects with my jaw, skin gently rubbing against mine.
My heart was beating like crazy at this point, his hand in my hair feeling like an anchor as he gently rubbed his cheek against mine, nose trailing up to softly rub against the sensitive spot behind my ear.
This whole thing was so utterly weird.
But if it was os weird... then why was I shaking in my spot? Not even out of fear or anything... Why did I enjoy this so much?
I felt a warm tingling all over my body by the time Jungkook moved away, a heathy red glow on his cheeks when he smiled down on me, "Thanks bunny." He giggled, ruffling my hair quickly before leaving me once again frozen in my spot, under the amused eyes of our fellow classmates.
Let's pray that the bunny isn't gonna be a permanent thing
___
I did not think this through properly.
I should've asked what exactly scenting is and then declined, because I knew that I was now not only smelling like shifter but fucking reeking of them.
Aaand I was right, because as soon as I entered my home, trying my best to sneak past the kitchen, a very gloomy, old lady passed my way, wooden spoon in her hand looking kind of threatening.
"You stink."
"Ah, thank you very much."
"What did you two do?"
"We? Didn't do anything." I giggled nervously, "What are you even talking about?"
She scowled at me, staring me down for a reallyyy long time.
"Go take a shower, I don't want this smell all over my furniture."
Damn, why is she so mad?
"Alright, yes, of course." I rambled.
I was almost headed upstairs when I heard Grandma's voice.
"Shifters scent because of two reasons: Either because they need the comfort of being close to someone they share a bond with..."
She looked up at me, "...Or because they want to claim something as theirs."
___
Chile anyways-
