Olivia's POV:
Once we arrived at the school, the event from this morning never left my mind. I knew I would have darkness in my heart but was a hallucination one of the side effects?
"Are you sure you're doing okay?" Isaac asks, breaking me from my thoughts as I park the car in the school lot. "We could ditch and get some coffee. Try to clear your mind a bit?"
I shake my head and unbuckle my seatbelt. "Mom wants to make sure I don't ditch if it involves an actual emergency. Probably just a nightmare or something else that messed up my sleep."
He snorts. "I can tell. I'm surprised your mom didn't notice." He says as we grab our bags from the backseat
"What are you talking about?"
He shakes his head with a smile. "I'll catch up with you later. I gotta drop some things off from my locker." He says to me before splitting away from me in a different direction but I continue walking to my locker.
"Olivia..."
I look around curiously but see the rest of the students talking among themselves with their friends.
"Olivia..."
Okay, now I'm pretty damn sure someone called my name.
"Don't lose control..."
I feel my hands begin to warm up again but I shake them, hoping that it wouldn't ignite in front of people.
"Somethings coming..."
"Leave me alone," I grumble to myself and turn the dial on my lock.
Once I hear the faint click, I pull the handle and the small mirror I had in my locker shows my eyes were glowing bright orange with a bit of a red mixture. I blink a couple of times but the color remained the same.
"No, no, no, no. Turn back." I whisper, harshly rubbing my eyes and look back to the mirror but see it stayed the same. This time, my hands burned bright blue again. "Oh my god, not now."
The shadow appeared behind me when I look back in the mirror. "Olivia..."
"I said leave me alone!" I abruptly turn around but see it was Allison with a shocked expression. "Oh my god, I-I'm so sorry." My eyes trail over to her blue knitted sweater with black hearts and a navy skirt with brown boots that practically left me dumbfounded. Wow. "I-I—"
"Hey, it's okay. Relax." She tries to assure by reaching for my hand but I quickly jerk it away.
"D-Don't touch me! My powers are getting out of control."
"They seem fine to me." She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion and I look down to see my hands were perfectly normal. I turn back to the mirror to see that my eyes were back to hazel. "Olivia, what's going on?"
"What did we do last night?" I whisper, turning around to face her.
"You came over last night to study and we sort of got distracted..." She trails, shyly pushing her hair behind her ear. "but then your mom called to make sure to go home. I tried to convince you to stay so I could at least cover up your neck but you were really insistent on leaving right away. Don't you remember?" She adjusts my jacket with a grin.
Was I sleepwalking?
"Something's happening to me." I nervously breathe out.
"You're seeing things too?" Allison and I turn to see Lydia, Stiles, and Scott with worried expressions.
"How did you know?" I ask and Lydia gestures to the boys.
"It's happening to—well, the three of you." She says and I pull my binder out of my locker.
"At least I'm not alone in it." I mutter then shut my locker.
"Well, well, well, look who's no longer the crazy one," Lydia says as we all start to walk to class. "Olivia, I assume you had fun last night."
"Maybe." I adjust my jacket to try to cover my neck. "And we're not crazy." I retort. She turns to face us which causes us to stop walking.
"Hallucinating? Sleep paralysis?" She lists off and shrugs innocently. "Yeah, you guys are fine."
"Well, you all did die and come back to life." Allison pointed out and Scott nods in agreement.
"That's gotta have some side effects, right?"
The bell rings throughout the school, indicating that our class was starting in two minutes.
"We keep an eye on each other, okay?" Stiles says then looks to Lydia with annoyance. "And Lydia, stop enjoying this so much."
"I'll see you after class." Allison whispered to me before pecking my cheek. "If you're not feeling too good in the middle of class, text me and I'll leave class to at least hang out with you for a bit."
I hum. "Will do." She and Lydia walk to art class while Scott, Stiles and I start to head to our history class.
"I wonder who's filling for Mr. Westover." I spoke up we walk inside the classroom.
"As long as it's not another Jennifer situation, I don't care." Stiles remarked. "I want a normal teacher for once."
Scott and Stiles sit in their spots in the middle and I was about to sit behind them until a random guy takes my spot.
I walk further in the back and see an empty seat next to a Korean girl who was writing something down on her notebook.
Whatever works I guess.
A Korean middle-aged man dressed in a suit walks in the class, which causes everyone else to settle down.
"Good morning, everyone. My name is Mr. Yukimura." He greets with a warm smile. "I'll be taking over for your previous history teacher. My family and I moved here three weeks ago. I'm sure, by now, you all know my daughter, Kira. Or you might not since she's never actually mentioned anyone from school. Or brought a friend home for that matter."
The girl beside me sighs in frustration and uses her arms to cover her face, hitting the desk with a small thud.
"Either way, there she is." He continues as everyone else turns around to stare, practically making me feel bad for the girl.
She slowly looks up and gives an awkward smile, most likely uncomfortable at everyone staring.
"Now, let's begin with American history at the turn of the twentieth century." He says but I tuned him out since I wanted to at least introduce myself to Kira.
"Psst." I whisper and Kira turns to me. "Sorry about your dad."
"I never wanted to die on the spot so much." She mumbled which causes me to chuckle. "What's your name?"
I offer my hand for her to shake. "I'm Olivia Flores and my hobby is I like to poke things with a stick. I haven't figured out how to make money with that yet so I'm stuck in school." I shrug and she gives a small smile. "If your dad asks, you can tell him that and say you made a friend."
She shakes my hand then goes back to listening to her father's lecture.
I turn to face forward as well but then I feel my hand start to get warm again. I hesitantly look down and see a small blue flame beginning to form.
It's just a hallucination. It isn't real.
I clench my fist then slowly open it, seeing that it no longer glowed blue.

"It glowed again?" Allison asked me as she unlocked her locker.
"Yeah but like Lydia said, maybe I was hallucinating." I assure. "Maybe the boys and I need a little more time to get back to normal."
"Well don't forget, you guys did re-activate the beacon for supernatural creatures." She points out and opened her locker. "I doubt things are going to go back to normal."
"Can a girl dream for once?" I reach for her hand. "Besides, I want to at least take you out on a date without worrying about something possibly attacking us."
She doesn't turn to face me but a smile forms on her face. "I don't remember saying yes."
"By the look on your face, you don't have to." I tease.
She turns to look at me but her eyes widen. "Olivia, your eyes."
"What about them?" I tilt my head in confusion.
"They're glowing orange." Instantly she yanks her hand away, clutching onto them in pain. "Agh!"
I look down and see they were starting to form small flames and slowly started to expand.
"You need to relax your heartbeat." She whispered but my hands wouldn't stop shaking.
"I-I-I can't." I say, feeling my breath start to pick up. "It has a mind of its own."
She shuts her locker and grabs my arm. "Just keep your head down, come on." She says and drags me away to an empty classroom.
She shuts the door behind us but it felt like the flames inside of me were burning me from the outside.
Allison tried to reach for me but I took a couple of steps back. "No, get away from me!" I pant and hold my hands out. "I don't want to hurt you."
"Olivia you won't hurt me." She assures.
"I don't know if I can. Get back!" I say, noticing the red flames in my hands got bigger.
I press my hands against my chest and stomach, feeling it start to burn through my clothes and my skin. I cry out in pain, feeling it start to burn my flesh but it starts to slowly diminish with the flames finally disappearing.
My knees buckle to the ground and I lean against the desk, feeling practically drained from the energy of the flame it exerted. Allison slowly walks over to me and crouches down to my level.
"Scott told me that if werewolves lose control, pain can make them human again." I weakly rasp, moving my hands off the wound on my stomach. "Looks like I can do the same."
"Liv, this isn't just in your head. This is real." She says, showing the burn on her hand. "If it was a hallucination, you wouldn't have left a burn."
I shakily grab her hand and into mine and focus on healing her burn. I feel the sparks travel through my arm into her hand until I knew it was gone.
I let go of her hand and see the redness had disappeared, making me smile. "What burn?"
She rolls her eyes in annoyance and helps me stand to my feet. "I have an extra shirt in my locker that you can borrow."
"What, you don't want to see me almost shirtless?" I tease as I grab my bag from the floor. "You've seen it before."
"Don't even start."
