Olivia's POV:
"Son of a bitch!" Coach Finstock angrily yells from another room which causes the class to snicker.
"Yeah he sure does love your gift." I whisper to Stiles who sat two chairs away from me, seeing that he was trying to hold back his laughs.
Coach slams open the door with an angered expression, causing me to stay quiet in my seat.
"Mischief night," Coach says, throwing a pencil to the side. "devil's night. I don't care what you call it. You little punks are evil!"
Some of the class starts laughing again but I could practically see the fumes out of his ears.
"You think it's funny every Halloween my house gets egged? A man's house is supposed to be his castle." He shouts, slamming his hand on Scott's desk for laughing. "Mine's a freaking omelet."
He walks over to his desk and scoffs, picking up the small box with a bow on top. "Oh, this? We're gonna do this again?" Okay, I'm pretty sure the boys and I didn't give him that box. "I don't think so." He slams it on the ground and stomps on the box, making the sound of broken glass to ring in my ears.
"Happy Birthday," Coach reads off a card that was tucked inside the broken coffee mug. "Love, Greenberg."
I turn to Lydia to see her reaction but see her swatting her hands in front of her face as she held her phone in her hand.
"Lydia," I whisper and she turns. "what are you doing?"
"There's a fly." She whispers back and I furrow my eyebrows.
"I don't see one."
She drops her annoyed expression but looks around the classroom in confusion. After she faces forward again, she slowly looks up to the ceiling in a daze.
I was about to call out her name again but from behind her head, several cop cars were parked in the front with Agent McCall, my father, Sheriff Stilinski, and several other cops walking inside the school.
This can't be good.

"Barrow went after kids with glowing eyes?" Isaac repeats Stiles' words, as Stiles, Lydia, Allison, and I walk down the stairs. "He said those exact words?"
"Yeah. And who in our group has glowing eyes?" Stiles asked before he gestured to Isaac and I.
"When my mom called me after class, she said no one knows how he woke up from anesthesia." I continue and Stiles nods in agreement. "When they opened him up, his tumor was full of live flies."
"In any other circumstance, it would be all kinds of awesome." Stiles adds which causes me to grimace.
"Did you say flies?" We turn and see Lydia had stopped walking.
"Lydia?" Allison questions.
"All day, I've been hearing this sound. It's like...this buzzing." She says but I snap my fingers.
"Like what you heard in class?" I ask, walking closer to her and she nods. "The sound of flies."
"Exactly like the sound of flies."

"The police?" Scott asks with confusion, noticing the distressed look on Lydia's face.
"They must have cleared the building and grounds, which means he's not here." Stiles responds.
"Who? What are you guys--"
"William Barrow is a psycho who escaped and wants to kill kids with glowing eyes and is on his way here. Piece together the rest." I interrupt him and Scott's eyes widen.
"You, Isaac, Ai--"
"He has to be here." Lydia interrupts Scott. "The sound...the buzzing I've been hearing? It's getting louder."
"How loud?" I hesitantly ask.
"Like there's a swarm by my ears."
My phone pings in my pocket and I pull it out, seeing that it was from Allison.
Alli🏹
meet in our english class as soon as you guys find scott.
{2:30 p.m}
I show everyone else the text and shove it in my pocket.
"I'm gonna try to talk to my dad into staying here so he could keep looking." Stiles says before sprinting down the hall.
"I'll try to get ahold of my mom to see if she could bring something close to Barrow's scent." Scott says as he pulled out his phone to dial her number.
"We'll go meet up with Allison. I want to avoid my dad as much as I can." I say and he nods before Lydia and I head over to the classroom.
Lydia pushes open the door and see Allison moving things to the side away from a window. She looks up once Lydia closes the door and gestures for us to help.
"I'm gonna sneak out to see if I could find anything in the bestiary." She says as she pushes more books to the side.
"Good idea." I respond as I open the blinds for her. "How long do you think it'll take?"
"It's literally one thousand pages long. If I'm going to find anything about flies coming out of people's bodies, it could take me all night." She pushes open the window, dropping her bag to the other side.
"Remember, the word in archaic Latin for fly is 'musca'." Lydia added.
Allison hops over the other side and I clutch on the edge as well. "I'm coming with you."
"No, you have to stay here with Lydia."
As if on cue, Stiles slams open the door with frustration and I turn to give Allison a look. "She has Stiles. Besides, school is almost over and knowing my dad, he'll try to corner me into giving me a ride home so I'm coming with you whether you like it or not."
"You're lucky I like you." She retorts, as we run towards her car.

I brought a bowl of popcorn to her Dad's office as she continued to skim through the bestiary in the computer.
"Even if this wasn't how I pictured to spend my day," I say, plopping on the chair beside her. "at least I'm with you."
She sighs, propping her arm on the desk to rest her head on her hand. "You're supposed to be helping me, Liv."
"Excuse me, I am helping. I read some pages and provided snacks." I hold it up and shook the bowl.
She rose an eyebrow. "That you got from my kitchen."
"Look, we've been reading a language that we both don't understand for a couple of hours now." I say, grabbing a piece of popcorn and put it close to her mouth. "At least eat a snack." She leans a bit to eat the popcorn from my hand and then looks back at the screen.
I click the next page for her but instantly was met with a picture of a horrible red face, its teeth almost canine-like.
Instantly my vision whitens and I frantically look around, seeing I was back in the dark mist filled room.
No, I'm supposed to be done with this. It was supposed to be over.
The shadow flies down from above and stands in front of me with its arms crossed. "We meet again."
"I'm not afraid of you anymore." I glare, forcing myself not to use my fire abilities. "What do you want?"
"Think of this as a warning," It says, taking a step closer to me. "for what you are to expect in the future."
Before I could object, it grabs my neck and places its hand on my forehead, making my vision white again.
My surroundings change and it showed I was in some sort of destroyed building that must have been here for awhile since there were vines and weeds grown around.
My eyes trail to the fight that my friends were in against what seemed like black hooded demon ninjas with silver masks and a samurai sword in their hands, similar to the mask Allison and I saw in the bestiary.
Kira was alongside an older woman, most likely it being her mom, attempting to defend themselves with a sword from the two ninjas that stood in front of her with their swords raised.
I walk closer to the fight and see myself fighting near Allison, shooting out fire blasts left and right at the ninjas coming close to us.
Was this the future?
I saw Isaac fighting off against two but the ninja slices across his chest which causes his blood to splatter, making his eyes widen. His knees buckle and my future self sees the action occur.
As soon as they lift their sword, she sprints towards them and jumps on their back, igniting the flames from her hands in attempt to distract them.
One of the ninjas instantly throw me off, making me crash against the wall and fall flat on my face. My future self weakly looks up with a scared expression but attempts to fire another blast at its chest.
It seemed unfazed at the action but lifts its samurai sword, as if it was about to stab through through my face.
It raises its sword down but instantly its chest begins to glow a bright green light, making a weird sound as it dropped its sword. It disappears into black smoke but a small firefly flies comes out, flying away into the sky.
I see the stick of an arrow fall to the ground and I look to Allison, seeing her smile in victory at the shot she took to save my life which causes me to grin as well.
That's my girl.
However, my smile drops as soon as I see one of the ninjas sprint towards Allison with their samurai sword raised. I try to run towards her but instantly, the ninja deeply plunges its sword onto Allison's abdomen which causes me to freeze in my spot as her blood splattered the wall nearby.
"Allison!" I hear myself scream at the top of my lungs, seeing the love of my life eyes widen at the sword piercing through her stomach.
I watch as I push myself up from the floor to Allison while the ninjas disappeared into thin air. Tears were already spilling from my eyes as she falls to the ground, blood already spilling from the stab wound. I see that I held her in my arms, pushing her hair away from her face as I cupped her cheeks.
I force myself to shakily walk closer to them and see I held my hand over hers over the wound, a panicked expression on my face.
"Why can't I heal you? Why isn't this working?"
"It's because it doesn't hurt." Allison weakly says as she stared into her eyes.
"No, no, no, please. I can't lose you." I hear myself plead to the girl in my arms. "You're gonna be fine, alright? Everything's going to be fine."
"It's okay."
"Allison I-I can't—"
"It's okay." Allison shakily breathed out but I shake my head, wiping the tears off my face. "It's perfect. I'm in the arms of the woman I love. The first person I ever loved. The person I'll always love." She shakily whispered to me, weakly raising her hand to cup my cheek. "I love—I love you, Olivia...O-Olivia Flores."
My tears start to cloud my vision but I couldn't bring myself to wipe them away. This couldn't be real. This couldn't be the future.
"You're not gonna die, I can fix this. Don't give up on us." I beg, pressing my hand against her wound to apply pressure which causes it to stain from her blood. "I-I love you. A-Allison you can't leave me alone here, please."
"Y-You have to—" She panted but then cleared her throat. "You have to tell my dad. T-Tell him--" She starts to struggle with her breathing until her chest slowly comes down as her eyes close shut.
"No..." I hear myself trail, clutching onto her tighter against my chest as her hand falls to the ground. "No!"
Flames brightly erupt from my body as I cried out in misery, not even caring if our friends were watching my outburst.
"Just when you think you have your powers under control," I turn to see the shadow standing next to me. "you still lose her no matter what."
"Why did you show me this?" I angrily ask, attempting to swing at its head but my punch goes straight through. "Why are you doing this to me?"
"I'm showing you the future of the inevitable." It says but I shake my head.
"No, I won't let it happen! There has to be an alternate timeline."
It shoves me back. "If you mess with time, there's always a consequence."
"I don't care. She doesn't deserve this." I argue. "If you didn't want me to mess with time, why did you bring me here?"
"To warn you about whats to come. Nothing can last forever, Olivia." It says, gripping onto my arm so I wouldn't move. "You can't save everyone."
It raises its hand but I mutter one last thing before it sent me back.
"Watch me."
