Five
Olivia's POV:
"So...you saved Kira?" Allison asked me as she dug through her closet. "Alone?"
"At first but Scott scared it off." I reply, eating a bowl of grapes I had gotten from her fridge. "She had our backpacks and Stiles had a doll that belonged to Malia in his bag. It explains why she got chased."
"And she printed out papers about Bardo that took her a couple of hours?" She emphasized and I nod again. "To impress you?"
"Yeah, I don't know why she struggled to make friends." I ask then toss another grape in my mouth. "She's pretty nice if you ask me."
"I guess." She mumbles under her breath, placing the crate on the table and unlocks the hinges, pulling out a large sniper to examine it.
I get up from the chair and walk up to her, placing the bowl behind me so I could wrap my arms around her waist from behind.
"You know, every time I bring up Kira, your jaw clenches." I tease, knowing it got under her skin. "I never took you as the type to be jealous."
"I'm not jealous." She retorted and carefully places the weapon back inside the crate.
"Mhm," I hum, peppering kisses on her neck and she tilted her head a bit to give more access. "but you don't have to be. I'm dating the most amazing, wonderful, beautiful, badass woman in the world." I say and I hear her let out a small chuckle.
"She sounds crazy." She softly says as she turned around to wrap her hands around my neck. "Why her?"
"Because she reminds me there's always hope and is the only one who can help me control my powers." I whisper with a small smile. She leans up to kiss me, shortly pulling away after to turn around. "Even if she won't admit that she's jealous."
She elbows me hard in the stomach, causing me to grunt and stumble back. "I'm not." She simply replied. "Are you sure you're able to help me find Malia?" She asks as she opens the other briefcase to reveal the small bottles filled with the tranquilizer serum I had brought from the clinic. "If not then you and I are going to be in the woods for a long time if you're not focused."
"Not complaining if it's only us two." I mutter, grabbing the bowl from the desk to eat another grape. "But Stiles took a blanket from the den that he thinks that she might run after. It'd be a perfect chance for her to follow after it."
"That's good." She says as she injected the syringe into the small bottle.
I attempt to toss a grape into my mouth until it hits my nose instead, rolling underneath the table.
"Nice one. You better pick that up." She chuckles and I roll my eyes playfully.
"You better pick that up." I mock quietly before going on my knees to find the grape.
I dig my hand around until I feel something round and grab onto it. I pull my hand out to see the dusty grape which caused me to grimace.
"Gross." I mutter and stand up from my spot.
Instead of facing Allison, I was met with a dark room, almost as if I was in Bardo but with mist forming around which made it hard to tell.
Oh god not again.
"Don't lose control." The voice echoes in my head.
"It's just a hallucination. You're not real." I shake my head to blink a couple times, trying to force myself back into the real world.
Instantly several shadows appear but one figure in particular slowly turned around, making my eyes widen as it's yellow eyes practically stared into my soul.
"It's real, but you're refusing that it is." It speaks again but I lift my hands to cover my ears and close my eyes. "Especially when you know you can't stop it."
Suddenly my eyes force open with the shadow standing right in front of me, it's glowing eyes staring me down.
"Take my advice and leave town before it's too late for her."
"What are you talking about?" I angrily ask and flick my wrists to ignite flames. "What are you doing to her?"
"Till next time, Olivia." It greets before flying above me again.
"No, you're not getting away!" I yell and try to aim as the shadow flew around the room.
"Liv, stop! Snap out of it! OLIVIA!"
I jolt awake, seeing Allison blocking herself with the box while my hands enveloped in flames that were aimed towards her, almost as if I was about to attack.
My eyes widen in shock and I close my hands to extinguish the flames. "Oh my god, I-I'm so sorry." I shakily say, backing away from her to the corner of the room and took a seat on the floor. "I don't know what I was doing." I whisper, bringing my knees close to my face to block my eyes from her since I was too ashamed.
"Liv, your eyes and flames were blue." She whispered as I heard her take cautious steps over to me. "It's getting worse."
I look up and see she was crouched down to my level. "How am I supposed to protect anyone when I'm like this? What am I supposed to do?" I hold out my shaky hands. "I don't want anyone getting hurt, Alls. I'm becoming a threat."
She cups my hands with her, holding them in place so I would stop shaking.
"You're not a threat. You won't hurt anyone." She says but I shake my head.
"I almost hurt you a couple seconds ago. Shouldn't you be running the other way?"
She shakes her head before saying with a small smile.
"Because I...I adore you."

Allison suggested for her to drive us to the preserve since she knew that I was afraid of the possibility of pulling the same stunt again.
Stiles' jeep and Scott's bike pulled up beside the car as Allison and I stepped out, shutting the doors behind us.
Lydia gets out of the jeep with the look of hesitation as she looked around the woods. Isaac on the other hand, I could tell that he knew this was a bad plan since Scott couldn't roar to change Malia back and we had to rely on Allison to perfectly shoot the tranquilizer dart.
"Anyone else think we could be doing more harm than good?" Lydia breaks the silence but I shoot her a glare.
"Lydia." I scold.
"We're trying to keep a father from killing his own daughter." Scott adds, placing his helmet on the bike.
"Actually, we're trying to keep a guy from killing a coyote who's actually his daughter who we don't know how to change from coyote back to his daughter." Isaac corrects, crossing his arms as he spoke.
"And again with the not helping." Stiles says with annoyance.
"Will you two quit it?" I glare at the two boys, seeing Isaac give him a sarcastic smile.
"Anyway," Scott trails and looks to Allison. "did you bring it?"
Allison opens the trunk of her car, pulling out the tranquilizer gun to show all of us. Scott opens his mouth to speak but was immediately cut off by a gun shot that rang throughout the preserve.
"Oh no." I whisper, looking around to see where the sound came from.
Scott quickly slips his helmet back on before he jumps back on his bike, immediately taking off and leaving us behind.
"Scott wait!" Stiles yells with Isaac quickly running after Scott.
"Come on, we have to go." Allison grabs my arm, forcing me to follow after them.
We followed along the the tire tracks from Scott's bike over the hill, running as fast as we could to at least match Isaac's pace.
However since Isaac's speed was faster than ours, we lost him as he ran further into the woods.
"Damn you, speed abilities." I groan, feeling my legs begging for me to take a breather.
"Wait, Liv! I can see Malia and Tate from here!" I hear Allison shout, causing my head to snap towards her. "I have a clear shot!"
Before I could turn back, something sharply digs through my ankle which causes me to fall forward.
I screamed at the top of my lungs of the excruciating pain at my ankle, looking down to see I had stepped on a bear trap with a chain attached to the ground so it would stay in place.
"Olivia!" Allison quickly runs over to me, but I shooed her away.
"No, shoot Tate first!" I grunt, trying to pull apart the trap but it was clamped tight. "Shoot him with the tranquilizer!"
She nods and shakily holds the scope to her eye, leaving me just to painfully watch her. She presses on the trigger, the dart flying across to only hit the tree nearby Tate.
"Allison," I try to calmly call out. "take a deep breath."
"I-I c-can't." She says, her eyes filled with terror as she eyed my ankle. "You're hurt a-and--"
I painfully push myself up from the ground, ignoring the second shot of pain from moving around as it dug deeper.
"Don't look at that, look at me." I say, placing my hand on her shoulder since it was slightly bloody. "You can do this." Her eyes glanced back at my leg with worry, but I leaned forward to kiss her to at least calm her nerves.
I pulled away shortly after and see she wasn't shaking as badly as before. She lifts the scope to her eye again and takes a deep breath before muttering out something under her breath.
"Nous protégeons ceux qui ne peuvent pas se protéger eux-mêmes."
She pulled the trigger once more, perfectly hitting Tate on his shoulder. He dropped his gun on the ground and instantly fell backwards which causes me to smile.
"Payback..." I grunt, slowly sinking back on the ground. "you son of a bitch."
Allison groaned and dropped her gun to the side, crouching down to my level to try to pull apart the trap. "She ran off."
I feel my breath begin to quicken from seeing the loss of blood that spilled over the trap, feeling my hands start to heat up which causes Allison to take notice.
"Liv?"
"My powers," I clench my hands around the trap. "I can't control it."
"Olivia..."
"Leave me alone!" I angrily yell out, feeling my eyes flicker between orange and the normal color of my eyes.
"Olivia whatever is making you do this, don't let it push you around. Try to connect to something that makes you human. Like with werewolves, they have an anchor so maybe that's what you have to do." She encouraged as she grabbed both of my shoulders to make me look her in the eyes. "You can control it, you have the power. Not whatever that shadow thing is. You make it afraid, don't let it make you afraid. Find your anchor."
I shakily nod, my eyes flickering between her eyes and her lips.
"Don't lose control..."
A piercing roar erupts throughout the woods which causes me to clench my hands around the trap, feeling the flames twist around my arms and for Allison to instantly let go.
"Don't lose control, Olivia."
"I'm...in control!" I yell out, tightening my grip on the trap.
Somehow it was like a boost of strength ran through my arms which was enough for me to pull apart the trap so I could slip my leg free.
I fall back into Allison's arms as soon as the flames on my arms go out, the trap snapping shut once more.
I glance up at Allison and see she was already staring at me with a proud smile on her face. "So...you found your anchor?"
I lean to kiss her softly before pulling away with a grin. "You're my anchor."
