Eighteen
Olivia's POV:
I grab my books from inside my locker, but instantly I feel a hand to drag me away from my locker and force me to run towards what I recognized was the pathway to the basement.
I look up and see it was Ethan. "Ow! What the--"
"No time to explain." Scott runs up ahead of us along with Aiden.
"Okay, okay, at least let go of my arm dumbass!" I scold, pulling my arm away so I could carefully go down the stairs myself.
As soon as I reached the bottom, I notice up ahead a figure holding an object that I recognized to be one of Argent's emitters.
The figure slowly turned around and my eyes widened, seeing that it was Stiles with a bit of hesitation in his expression.
"Okay, I know what you guys are thinking, but it's me." He innocently raises his hands up. "I swear to God, it's me."
I hear growls from behind and instantly the twins push pass me and sprint towards Stiles.
"Wait!" I call out and Scott quickly runs after them as they harshly held Stiles against the locker.
Scott rips Ethan off first which causes him to slam his back against the wall. He shakes his head a bit and tries to stand but I quickly jump on top of him, igniting my arm to envelop in flames, bringing it close to his neck.
Aiden notices my action and angrily roared but Scott shoves him off, roaring twice as loud which causes both of the twins to cower.
"It's me, Scott. I swear it's me." Stiles assures as he glances at each of us before looking back at Scott. "I don't know where I've been the last two days or what I've been doing, but this is me. I promise."
I move my arm away from Ethan's neck as it changed back to normal and offer my other hand to pull him up. "You know what happened at the hospital?" Ethan asked him as I pull him up.
"I know more than that." Stiles responds and walks over to a duffel bag pushed to the side then zips it open. He pulls out a blueprint and opens it up. "You see this? It's a blueprint of the hospital's electrical wiring. You see all these markings in red? That's my handwriting." I crouch down to his level and see several scribbles about where one of the machines that exploded that night. "I know I did this. I caused the accident."
"Stiles." I whisper, taking notice of his eye bags.
"And everything in this bag, it's all stuff that could be part of something bigger." He continues and he watches as Ethan pulls out rope, wires, and couple other tools.
"What the hell were you doing? Building a terminator?" Aiden remarks.
I pull out a map from the bag and see it was one of the familiar hiking trails we had ran in for PE awhile back.
"Isn't that the cross country trail?" Ethan points to the red line that traces a track.
I sigh dramatically. "Ah yes, the memory of running for my life away from you two. I cherish it deep in my heart."
"We were on orders." Aiden mutters.
"We were on orders." I mock quietly. "Bullshit excuse."
"Enough." Scott glares at the three of us. He points in the area where Lookout point was. "That's the Tate car. Where Malia Tate's family died."
"You mean that's where her father put steel-jawed traps." Stiles points out.
My eyes widen. "You don't think..."

"Stop, stop, stop! Everyone, stop!" Stiles yells beside me as Aiden, Coach, and I both skid to a stop.
The rest of the cross country team slows down in front of us with confused looks on each of their faces. I look worriedly at Stiles, wondering how the hell he was going to convince these people to not continue any further without freaking them out.
Stiles digs his hands in the leaves until he picks up a medium sized ring that linked with a chain. He carefully pulls the chain closer to him until it reached the end, revealing nothing else.
No trap.
Coach slowly starts to clap next to me. "Congratulations, Stilinski. You found a length of chain." He lightly pushes passed me, practically blocking me from everyone else. "Can somebody now please tell me what the hell's going on?"
He takes another step forward in front of me, but everything happened so fast because next thing I knew, I hear Scott scream at Coach and my eyes trail over to the arrow sticking on his stomach which causes everyone to gasp.
"Oh crap." Coach whispers before he falls on his back.
"Holy shit. Holy shit. Holy shit." I panic as I crouch down to his level along with Aiden, Stiles, and Scott. I apply pressure on the wound in hopes of stopping the bleeding.
"Get it out of me! Get it out of me. Get it out of me. Oh, my god. I'm going to die!" Coach yells out in pain as he frantically looks between Scott and Aiden.
"Wanky."
Scott glared towards me. "Olivia, not the time!"
"I'm going to die!" Coach yelled out in annoyance.
"Coach, you're not going to die." Stiles says with frustration lacing his tone as he places his hands on the wounds as well next to my hands.
Instantly my vision changes to where my hands are placed on Allison's stomach as I held her in my arms, my hands stained crimson red of the blood that spilled out.
"No, no, no, please. I can't lose you." I hear myself plead to the girl in my arms. "Keep your eyes open, okay?"
"It's okay."
"Allison I-I can't—"
"It's okay." She shakily breathed out but I shake my head, "It's perfect. I'm in the arms of the woman I love. The first person I ever loved. The person I'll always love." She shakily whispers to me, weakly raising her hand to use cup my cheek. "I love-I love you, Olivia. O-Olivia Fl—"
"OLIVIA!"
I gasp and instantly I'm met with Scott in front of my face. "Focus! You have to do the thing just so coach can hold on until the ambulance gets here."
I nod and apply more pressure against the wound, feeling the energy course through my hands. Scott holds his hand and I could see the black veins trail up his arm which causes him to grunt due to the amount of pain he was absorbing.
I move my hands away, knowing that it was enough for now and see Coach had stopped moving. "Oh my god."
"No, no. He just passed out. I can still feel a pulse." Aiden quickly says and I sigh in relief.
"I-I could have killed him." Stiles shakily pulls his hands away. "Or Olivia. He was standing in front of her. W-What if it was his head or his throat?"
"But it wasn't." Scott sternly assures and I nod in agreement. "And he's going to be all right."
Aiden snaps his head to the left. "I think I just heard an ambulance coming."
My phone starts to ring in my pocket and I quickly wipe the blood on my hands in the clean part of coach's shirt before I grab my phone.
Alli 🏹
"Hello?"
"Hey, are you busy? Lydia and I might need your help with something at Derek's loft."
I glance worriedly at Scott but he nods. "Go. We can take it from here."
"I can meet you guys there, but..." I glance down at my now bloodied clothes. "do you have any extra clothes I left in your car?"

"While it's smart to be extra cautious to bring me along," I start off as I follow behind Lydia and Allison. "wouldn't it have been easier just to have only you two?"
"Yes, but who knows what he'd do." Lydia gestures to the doors.
"I still think the rest of this is totally insane." Allison casts a glance towards her friend.
"I tried to find Stiles and I led everyone into a mental institution while you two actually found him. Wanna know what I call what I did? A colossal failure."
"You're being too harsh on yourself. If it makes you feel better, I struggled having full control over my powers. Hell, I still do sometimes." I try to assure.
"I just need to figure this out and he's the only one offering help."
Allison scoffs. "Peter doesn't offer help. He offers a chance for you to be manipulated into giving him what he wants."
"Fine. Lets see what he wants." Lydia says and grabs the handles of the door. She slides the door to the side and instantly we were met with Peter looking out towards the city with his hands behind his back.
He slowly turns to face us. "The hunter, the healer, and the banshee. My favorite trio, come in."
Lydia is the first to walk in while Allison and I stand on opposite sides of her just in case Peter would try anything.
Peter looks between Allison and I. "They have to go."
Lydia sucks in air between her teeth. "The last time I was alone with you...I almost bled out on a lacrosse field."
"Awkward." I mutter.
"So they stay."
"Do you actually think I was trying to kill you when I bit you?" He tilts his head. "You were my backup plan, remember? Not to mention, the bite is what brought out your nascent abilities. You think power like that was going to come out on its own? I'm the spark that lit your fire, sweetheart."
"You attacked her and nearly killed her." Allison remarked.
"Power doesn't come without a little pain and struggle."
She scoffed. "She clearly didn't ask for it."
I remembered that. I remembered how Lydia was crying in her car last year when I had asked for a ride since I was running away from the kanima. The poor girl thought she was losing her mind. "I agree. I never asked for these powers. For gods sake, I tried healing Isaac today and it didn't work out so well since my hands glowed blue."
Allison snapped her attention to me. "You did what?"
Oh shit. "Nothing."
"But you're embracing your powers now, aren't you?" He smirks.
"How about the fact that you brainwashed her and used her to bring yourself back to life?" Allison knitted her eyebrows together, annoyed at Peter's remarks and still held her glare at me.
"So that I could be here today to help you master your abilities. Isn't it amazing how things come full circle?" He smiles but I didn't like the feeling I had when he did.
"Okay..." I awkwardly smile back and glance at the girls. "he's insane. I'm hungry. Can we leave?"
"Yes. Come on." Allison grabs Lydia's hand and starts to pull her to the exit.
"You want the truth Lydia?" Lydia stops walking which causes us to stop as well. "It's not the scream that gives you power. All the scream does is help drown out the noise, allowing you to hear what you really need to. I can help you focus your hearing."
She turns around but I cross my arms. "But you want something in return." I say and he rolls his eyes.
"No, I'm dedicating my life to helping out narcissistic teenage girls." He grabs the container on the desk. "Of course I want something in return."
He opens the container and it spills out a set of claws, clattering against the glass table.
I scrunch my nose in disgust as the three of us walk up to the table. "Hales have weird hobbies."
Allison grabs one of them off the table. "These are the claws of Derek's mother?"
"My sister, Talia. Before she died, she stole a memory from me. It's something only a very powerful alpha can do. That memory is locked inside those claws." Peter explains.
Lydia leans against the table. "Why would your sister want to steal a memory from you?"
"Well, if I remembered the memory, I might be able to tell you." He raised his voice sarcastically which causes me to snort.
Lydia gives him a pointed look. "So, what am I supposed to do?"
As Peter was explaining the steps to Lydia, I grab one of the claws and put them on my finger.
Huh.
I look towards Allison as I held my finger out. "Instead of being a caladrius with fire abilities, would you like me better as a werewolf?" I mimic the hand gesture as if the rest of my fingers had claws which causes a small chuckle to escape her lips.
"I think I like you better as a caladrius." She whispers, taking the claw off my finger and handing it to Lydia who had the rest of the claws in her hand. "It's what makes you, you."
I grin. "Why, thank you."
"But don't think I didn't forget about the Isaac thing." She smacks my arm. "How could you do something when you know under the state of condition he's in, isn't good. He's in a coma!" She scolds in a whisper.
"I thought I could make the progress go faster so he could be good to go. Besides, Scott stopped me before I hurt myself." I explain and try to reach for her hand but she crosses her arms. "Allison."
"We're gonna talk about this later."
"I am focusing!" Lydia groans which causes Allison and I to look away from each other, seeing the frustrated expression on our friend's face.
"You're not! I can see the wheels spinning behind your eyes. Your hearing is attuned to a level of the universe no one else can hear. But only, if you're listening." Peter leaned against the desk.
"I'm trying." Lydia retorted.
"Try harder!" Peter starts to make his way towards the girl but Allison was quick enough to pull out a baton, immediately stopped in front of Peter's face as it electrified in front of him.
I had to admit, that was hot.
Peter turns his head at her with a smirk then flicked his hand to extend his claws. "Your aunt had one of those. Aunty Kate." He mocked, but her expression never wavered.
I lift my hand up, showing the ball of flames that appeared in my hand to him. "But did she have this?" I glare. "Does it remind you of something, I don't know, involving a house fire?"
"Stop it. All of you." Lydia scolds, but I held my stare at the werewolf.
"Didn't do her much good as I ripped her throat out, did it Allison?" He remarked and glanced at me. "And at least my family stayed together unlike yours."
The fire in my hands formed brighter at the comment.
"Well she didn't shove it up your--"
"Stop it!" Lydia yells, interrupting Allison as she threw the claws that connected to the wood podium near us.
The fire in my hands disappear, due to the sudden action and I slowly look at Lydia with shock.
She didn't seemed phased at the action, but she stared at the five claws that were dug in the post.
"Lydia?" I call worriedly, but she walks passed us, closer to the claws.
"Lydia did you hear something?" Peter asks her. "What is it? What are they saying? Is it the memory? What did Talia take from me? Tell me what she knew!" He shouts and finally Lydia turns to face us.
"You're not just an uncle."
Trouble at the station, Olivia.
Oh no.
