The many students lined the sides of the cliff, filled with determination and optimism. Y/N stood among them, he wasn't really excited, just determined to get this over with, thankfully, Qrow had told him exactly what to expect.

Y/N was lost in his thoughts by the time Ozpin had got around to launching him, Y/N quickly raised a fist and blasted a path through the trees with the power stone. He then fell through the hole he had made and gripped onto a low hanging branch before swinging on it a couple of times to break his momentum, he dropped down and panted slightly before continuing on his way.

Y/N paused as he heard someone muttering up ahead, he paused as a red hooded girl and another girl both stride into view.

Y/N stared at Ruby, Ruby stared at Weiss and Weiss stared at Y/N, then they switched to staring at the other person.

"What happens now?" Ruby asked

"I find someone else" Y/N said coldly as he turned away, only to be held back by Weiss "if I have to deal with this dolt then so do you!" She whispered before releasing Y/N

"Fine" Y/N said

"So what do three partners make, tratners?" Ruby asked

"I changed my mind, you can keep her" Y/N said before him and Weiss saw Jaune stuck in a tree.

"Hey guys.." Jaune waved down, Weiss turned around as Y/N saw Pyrrha "I think that's the owner of the spear, you have fun" He waved at Jaune before following Weiss back to Ruby, at least Ruby wasn't as bad as vomit boy. Still as long as he didn't tell her his name, that's fine. Y/N's thoughts were interrupted by the trio being surrounded by beowolves.

"Ah a trio, that's what it's called" Ruby suddenly said. Y/N sighed "duck you two" he said, pushing them both down before he raised his left hand and clenched it into a fist, the power stone sent a wave of energy that hit the beowolves and turned them into dust almost instantly as they were sent reeling by the simple movement, it passed over Ruby and Weiss harmlessly as it dissipated, Y/N charged forwards as he once again used the power stone to boost his punches, making every blow a killing strike.

"What kind of weapon is that?" Ruby asked as she switched crescent rose to sniper form and fired at a few beowolves charging towards them

"It's a gauntlet you dolt" Weiss said, swiping myrtenaster at another set of beowolves that had got too close for comfort "although you do have a point, what kind of dust is that?" She asked, pointing at the purple gem imbedded into said gauntlet.

"It's not dust" Y/N said but before he could explain further, he was swatted by an Ursa Major which roared at Ruby and Weiss.

Ruby and Weiss gulped collectively before Ruby started to spam her sniper, sending round after round at it as Weiss sent a torrent of flame towards it, a large purple beam hit the Ursa as Y/N walked back up, he had a slight claw mark on his side where the ursa had hit but it didn't seem to be too serious. The ursa gave a roar of defeat before it collapsed, Y/N stopped the beam and watched the Ursa turn to dust. "Alright, let's get moving" he said, whilst Weiss and Ruby were panting, already out of breath from fighting off a whole pack of beowolves and an Ursa Major straight afterwards, Y/N seemed like he was barely getting started, yet another perk of wielding the power stone, his stamina was greatly increased.

"You four collected the black bishop pieces, together you will be known as team CRDL, lead by Cardin Winchester." Ozpin shuffled the paper in his hand

"And finally, Blake Belladonna, Y/N Ro- I mean Branwen, Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee and Yang Xiao Long, you five collected the white knight pieces, together you will he team RRWBY, i mean RWBBY, lead by Ruby Rose." Ozpin wiped a bit of sweat from his brow, "that was surprisingly difficult" he whispered to Glynda as the students headed out to their dorms.

"Alright, ground rules, hands above the waist at all times and you leave the room when we get changed" Weiss said to Y/N who wasn't even listening to her "hands above the waist?" Y/N asked "why would I hug you?" He looked up at Weiss and blinked

"For team hugs or group hugs or whatever" Weiss said, waving a dismissive hand, "I propose a new rule, you don't talk to me after 8 PM" Y/N said, opening the dorm door and pointing to a clock on the wall before jumping on one of the five beds, "huh, didn't take them too long to set up a fifth bed, must be IKEA flatpacks" Y/N said, bouncing on it slightly before laying back

"It'd be cooler if they were bunk beds" Ruby said, tossing a bag on one of the beds to the left, leaving Weiss cornered with the one on the far left, she put down her suitcase delicately as Yang and Blake came crashing into the room,

Well it was Yang who did most of the crashing, "Branwen was uncle Qrow and my moms surname" She said, looking at Y/N with her eyes slowly turning red.

"Coincidence" Y/N said quickly as he picked up a book that Blake has put down "this is filth" he muttered, reading the title and tossing it back at Blake who caught it.

"You expect me to believe that?" Yang asked with a glare

"I expect you to accept that I have my secrets and respect that" Y/N said, sitting up and his face quickly turning to anger.

"If you don't start taking this seriously.." Yang started to say, activating Ember cecilia

"The only matter I do not take seriously, GIRL, is you, your anger bores me, your demeanour is that of a screaming child, I'll only fight with this team, if you leave me alone" he said, standing up from his bed, "not as fun when they fight back, is it?" He whispered as he sat back on the bed and opened his scroll.
