Glynda turned back to the group she was leading, Damn peach had to go and tutor some third years, leaving her with this lot who were supposed to be walking through the forest, however most of them were sightseeing

"Yes, students, the forest of Forever Fall is indeed beautiful. But we are not here to sight-see. Professor Peach has asked all of you to collect samples from the trees deep inside this forest, and I'm here to make sure none of you die while doing so."  She said, deliberately grabbing their attention with the word die.

The group stops, and Jaune, grunting and carrying a large case with six empty glass jars on top, tried to catch up with them and ends up bumping into Cardin. The bully scowls at Jaune, who attempts to feign innocence by whistling tunelessly. 

Glynda, oblivious to all of this was still instructing her group, holding up a full jar of their objective. "Each of you is to gather one jar's worth of red sap. However, this forest is full of the creatures of Grimm, so be sure to stay by your teammates. We will rendezvous back here by 4 o'clock. Have fun!" 

While Yang Xiao Long and her sister smiled at one another, Jaune attempted to sneak away from Cardin to his team, unfortunately stealth was not his strong suit and the blackmailer sees this and grabs Jaune by the back.  Cardin smiled rather ironically "Come on, buddy - let's go!"  He said, not seeing Y/N watching them

Jaune miserably looked up at his team, where Nora and Ren were already walking into the forest's depths and Pyrrha was staring sadly at the scene. Dropping his gaze, Jaune turned and followed CRDL, much to the disappointment of a sighing Pyrrha before she continued on. 

Team CRDL made themselves as comfortable as possible by leaning on stones, trees, and the ground while Jaune returned to the group with six full jars, setting them down just as he collapses face-down.

The surrounding team gets up in response.  Cardin grinned "Hey, great work, Jauney boy! Now that wasn't too hard, was it?" 

Jaune who was still on the ground, cross-eyed and sounding dizzy merely replied "I think I'm allergic to this stuff..." 

Cardin nodded and cut across this remark "Greeeeat, great, great. So, Jaune, I bet you're asking yourself, 'Why did my buddy Cardin ask me to collect six jars of tree sap when there's only five of us?'" 

Jaune nodded, still exhausted however. "That is one of the many questions I have asked myself today, yes." 

Cardin talked as Jaune sits up "Well, come with me, and you'll find out."  Jaune moans at the concept of walking more and gulps in worry.

Now perched on a hilltop overlooking the other students, team CRDL - plus Jaune, squeezed between Cardin and Russel Thrush - stuck their heads over the crest and watched as everyone retrieved their samples of sap. Ren, kneeling to collect it from a tree, passes a full jar to Nora, who "Mmmm!"s at the gift as Ren trades it for the other empty jar in her care. He turns back to the tree and starts filling it up while several licking sounds are heard and Ren looks back to Nora, now with an embarrassed smile covered in red and an empty jar in her hands. 

Jaune turned to Cardin to his left "Cardin, wh-what's going on?"  Cardin was still staring at the unsuspecting group sharply "Payback."  He said without averting his eyes. Jaune widened his eyes in understanding "Pyrrha...?" Jaune watched her gather more sap from a tree

"Wh-what are you-?"  Jaune started before Cardin cut across him angrily while pounding his fist on the ground "That's the girl. Red-haired know-it-all, thinks she's so smart. Alright, boys..." he produced a buzzing cardboard box with a large "W" written on its side from beside the group

"Last night, old Jaune here managed to round up an entire box of Rapier Wasps, and now, we're gonna put em to work." 

Russel grabbed Jaune by the shoulder, who barely laughs in nervousness.  Cardin smiled slightly  "Now, according to one of the essays you wrote for me last week, these nasty things loooove sweets." He continued as Pyrrha was finishing her sap collection "I'm thinking it's time we teach her a thing or two. Then we can get that other stupid guy with the fancy glove" he pointed over to Y/N who was talking to Pyrrha quietly.

The members of CRDL get up. Cardin offered his hand to Jaune, only to painfully yank him up on his feet and shove the jar into his grasp.  Cardin smiled sadistically "And you're gonna do it."

Jaune blinked in confusion and fear "Do what?" 

Cardin rolled his eyes "Hit her with the sap!" He said before leaning in close to Jaune's face "Either that, or I'll have a chat with Goodwitch, and you'll be on the firstairship out of Beacon." 

Jaune looked down at the jar of sap in his hands doubtfully and then up at the four grinning teammates waiting to see what happens. Jaune turned towards the group and aimed his throw at an oblivious and smiling Pyrrha, trying to steel his nerves and shaking hand to do the deed, but ultimately steeled himself for what he's about to do. 

"No." 

Cardin almost looked surprised"What did you say?"  He asked dangerously Jaune gripped the jar tightly "I said... NO!"  He turned and threw the jar at Cardin, instantly recoiling his hands to himself as he looked at Cardin's breastplate covered in sap. The other team leader, however, just looks at himself and laughs darkly. "Oh, you've done it now..."  Jaune humorously laughed to himself once more with his hands still raised in an attempt for defense as Dove Bronzewing and Sky Lark grabbed Jaune's shoulders and pulled him towards them.

"I'm worried about Jaune, he's spending more time around Cardin, his supposed bully rather than his own team" Y/N said as he used the power stone to burrow a small hole through the tree.

"You think Cardin is forcing him to hang out, why?" Pyrrha looked up at him

"I don't know, did anything happen while you walked him out of Oobleck's lesson?" He asked

"Well he did say-"

They were cut off by a girlish scream "Some  little girl is in trouble!" Y/N said, standing up and leaving his jar to slowly fill by the hole he had made.

Y/N then turned to see Dove Sky and Russell all running from a clearing, screaming "URSA!"

"Oh never mind it's just Cardin.." Y/N said, turning back to his jar before pausing

"JAUNE!" Y/N and Pyrrha both said simultaneously before darting back the way DRL had ran from.

They found Jaune on the ground, scooting away from a big Ursa which swatted Cardin aside easily before turning to Jaune, He picked up his weapons and palms shaking, stood up to face the ursa.

Y/N moved to help but Pyrrha stopped him "he's got this" she whispered as they and Ruby and Weiss who had followed them all crouched behind a bush

They watched as the Ursa leans over a helpless Cardin raising its paw and swiping it down... only to be blocked by Jaune's shield, Crocea Mors. Jaune struggled to defend a stunned Cardin from its attempts to lean on him, he managed to take the shield out from the Ursa's paw and slash at its stomach, causing it to lash out and try to crush him. He rolled out of the way and jumped over its swipe at his feet, but he was unprepared for when it launched a claw at him in midair.

He lands far away, yet he was immediately back on his feet and passing Cardin as he charged again. The Ursa knocks Jaune behind it when he tried for a leaping attack, and he looked at the scroll built in his shield to find out that his Aura level is in the red. He grew angry again and starts to run at the Ursa as it also begins to dash towards him. As they are just about to clash in slow-motion, Pyrrha saw that Jaune had left himself completely open to the left, making him exposed to the Ursa's attack, she lifted her hand out to him, gathering dark red energy in her arm. Just as the Ursa was about to hit him, the glow surrounded Jaune's shield and forced it upwards to block the swipe.

Jaune used the surprise defensive move to lean on the ground, push his shield back up, and swing his blade right through the Ursa's neck. The head fell to the ground with a tiny thud as the rest of the body slammed onto the ground hard and loud.

Y/N looked at Pyrrha "what was that?" He asked "telekinesis?"

"What was what?" She tried to feign ignorance

"That whole raising the arm thing" Y/N said

"Did you use the force?" Ruby whispered excitedly

"No you dunce, that's Star Wars" Weiss hissed

"Well Ruby has her speed, Weiss has her Glyphs, You have that magical stone thing and I have polarity" Pyrrha said

"What you can control poles?"

"No you dunce, it means she can control magnetism"

"Oh...magnetism is cool too" Ruby said

"This stone isn't my semblance actually" Y/N said as they walked out from the bushes to Jaune who collapsed to his knees, exhausted after fighting the Ursa and helping Cardin up who is astonishingly heavy, maybe it was his density or something, could've been the armour.

Later Jaune was walking out in the rooftop to find Pyrrha to apologise, he looked around but didn't find her.

"Your team really misses their leader you know" Pyrrha said, from standing next to Y/N

"Pyrrha I'm sorry, I-" Pyrrha suddenly cut him off "I know and I forgive you"

"Then-"

"Yes I am going to train you, with a little help" She nodded her head over to Y/N who was leaning against the wall, his arms crossed, a trait he learnt from Qrow.

"Alright, let's see what you've got" he said, getting up "attack me" he said

"Wha-"

"Just do it"

Jaune shrugged and slashed with his sword before Y/N blocked it with his gauntlet "your stance is all wrong, if you step forward like this." Y/N proceeded to take a step forward with his strong foot, pushing the blade back a little. "You can put some more force behind it" he finished

"Try now" Y/N said, holding Crocea Mors as a target "hit the shield" he said

The three kept this up almost all night.
