Last tag of the night

A grand idea started by the spactacular GerithorDunadain :). You list a few of your characters that are not Mary-Sues/Gary-Stus. And why. Imma do the characters form my NaNoWriMo novel. (which is still a work in progress... -_-)

Karayan Batal

The good: He's very intelligent, he has a great (albeit dark) sense of humor, and he is very likeable and charismatic, with a very charming personality. He had a good childhood up until he was ten, so he has a nice background. *spoilers* He joined the dark side, but got back to the good side, and stayed there, despite much persecution, pain, and trials. So he has a strong character. He's very physically fit, and well versed in martial arts and weaponry. And he's handsome. 

The bad: He is the bad guy, after all... He uses his wit, charm, charisma, intelligence, etc. for his evil purposes. He's cruel and sadistic, not batting an eyelash at the pain of other, nay, enjoying it. When he goes to the good side, he frequently doubts himself and almost buckles under the pressure to return to the dark side. (he does like cookies...).

I don't know if this goes on the good side or the bad side, but he is very good at lying, and all other forms of deception. Come to think of it, he's really good at being bad...

Roric

The good: He's a quick thinker, and has much experiences in the hiding and sneaking around line of work (one of my rad little ninjas). He has great expertise in swordplay, knifeplay, and archery, and hand to hand combat. He's steadfast and loyal to his friends. 

The bad: He's narrow-minded and stubborn. Once his mind has been set, it takes a lot and a lot to convince him otherwise, distrusting of all but select few. He's generally unfriendly, keeping to himself to the extent of rudeness if he doesn't want to interact. 

Just two. Man, and I thought I liked talking about my characters... *shrugs* Oh well. I have other tags to get to. ;)
