Ahoy and happy holidays, fellows! I typed this up recently, and it's not perfect, but what's perfect anyway? 😅😬

Well, here's this for the holidays. Zane lovers will particularly enjoy as this about him ;p

Thanksgiving was Zane's favorite holiday. For the other Ninja, Thanksgiving was great and all, but it was usually succeeded by holiday's such as Christmas, or Halloween (however, everyone could agreed that St. Patrick's Day was the worst; watching Lloyd strut around the Monastery with that smug look on his face, knowing that they would never manage to pinch him, was not very fun).

Zane loved Christmas well enough, but he was terrible at buying gifts for the others, and could never think of anything to ask for for himself. Halloween was okay, but Zane never understood the point of it. Why would one willingly dress as a nonsense character to beg for candy? It seemed silly.

Thanksgiving however was a wonderful holiday, one that made sense, and was much more enjoyable in Zane's opinion, for several reasons. For one thing, the celebration of Thanksgiving was to rejoice the day that Ninjago finally made peace with itself so many years ago, which seemed very important to Zane. Since the beginning of time, there had never truly been peace in Ninjago. First there had been the Stone Wars, then Battle against the First Spinjitzu Master and the Overlord, then there were the Serpentine Wars, then the battle against the Time Twins...

It had always been one war after another. Thanksgiving marked the day, after the banishment of Garmadon, when Ninjago finally found itself at peace. Of course, that peace hadn't lasted very long, but the tradition of celebrating Thanksgiving lived on.

Another reason that Zane loved Thanksgiving was the food. Not eating it, but making it. Thanksgiving marked a day that Zane was allowed to spend the entire day in the kitchen, by himself, making whatever he pleased. As long as he made gravy, cooked a turkey, and baked at least one or two pie's, the others would be more than happy. Everything else about the meal was completely up to Zane.

If he wanted to, he could create a three course meal, complete with dessert, and everyone would love it. He could experiment with different techniques, recipes, anything. His brothers would eat anything he made, so long as it wasn't burnt or frozen solid.

Zane would bake all types of pie's, stuffing's, and sauce's. He would season the turkey however he liked. He would make mashed potato's, then proceed to make two different types gravies, just because he couldn't decide which recipe he liked best. He had complete reign over the kitchen, freedom to do what he liked and he loved it.

Then, after a full day of cooking, Zane, the Ninja, Pixal, and Sensei would sit down together, and feast on Zane's meal. The Nindroid swelled with pride at each bite his brothers took. They would relish in it, giving Zane compliments, telling him how much they loved it. Zane couldn't help but notice that the happiness that filled him when he saw how pleased his brothers were, how happy he had made them with the food... It was a happiness that wasn't quite matched by any other.

And that brought him the third reason Zane loved Thanksgiving so much. It gave him a further reason to feel and express the emotions he felt everyday, ever since Sensei Wu found him at the bottom of a frozen pool.

He was thankful. Thankful for friends, his brothers.

His family.

Some people might take for granted what they have, what they are blessed with, but not Zane. Zane knows that without Sensei and the others, he would've never found himself. He would still be wandering the streets, no purpose, no direction, no family.

But now that he had one, now that he had them, his brothers, he would never take them for granted. He knew he would always have their back's, just as they would always have his.

Thanksgiving was a holiday about family, and acknowledging what a blessing family was. It was a good holiday.

At least Zane thought so.

Well, like I said, maybe not perfect, but I thought the idea that Zane likes Thanksgiving was kind of sweet.
