A ten year old boy is happily reading a GO magazine and some record of pro games. His name Hikaru Shindou, a very nice, and respetcful child, who tend to act mature from his age. Mainly because he always talking to his grandfather Heihachi Shindou who introduces him to the game he fall in love and talking a thousand year old spirit who he can only see, hear and touch and also loves to play GO.

As long as he remember, Hikaru have been inside of his white room surrounded by Medical equipment attached to him. The smell of medicine and blood are become usual to him and the concept of death is become normal to him.

He know that he himself will face the dark void sooner or later.

Throughout the years, his life. His only companion is the game and the spirit who comes with the Goban. His name Fujiwara no Sai. A spirit hail from the Heian Era as the GO tutor of the emperor who died by drowning himself from misery and sadnest of taking the only thing he knows of what he is best in his life.

He was cast out by the Emperor of cheating alligation he never did. It was orchestrated by his rival in the palace as a Tutor and put the blame to Sai as he the one who did the horrible action.

"16-7" Sai said as he point his fan to the Goban and Hikaru putting the black stone to it. Now Hikaru's turn, he carefully look at the board for a couple of minutes and finally giving a deep sigh. "I resign" He said.

"Thank you for the game" The two said bowing to each other.

"You certainly improved Hikaru! I'm so proud of you!" Sai said enthusiastically hugging the boy.

"You think so...but its not enough to beat you. Dang just one game. I haven't beat you for 5 years Sai" Hikaru said smiling looking at board and looking at Sai after.

"Hehe" Sai said opening his fan covering his face/mouth. "Don't worry, keep practicing, and I'm more than happy to keep teaching you" Sai said smiling.

The smile on Hikaru falters "but I don't think I'll have the time Sai" Sai immediately interject him. "Don't say that, you certainly have a lot of years to live in" Hikaru smile at Sai. "I know myself Sai... I'm sorry" "what!!? you don't need to say sorry, it's not your fault"

"No I'm sorry because you got stack to someone like me, I couldn't fathom the agony and loneliness you need to bear waiting in that Goban(Go board) for someone to be able to see your trace and play the game you like. And I couldn't even give you a real battle. If only I'm not like this, you and I are now maybe famous, we got to battle a lot of strong opponent and have a chance to be at the top of GO scene and the chance of us, you achieving the divine move.

"Please don't say that. I love and enjoyed every game I played with you. That's the truth"

Hikaru smile at him.

Another morning...

*tut *tut *tut *tut *tut

The boy's eyes open slightly , seeing the blinding light and different people around him. The noisy cluttering and voices he hear. His eyes moves to his right seeing his friend's spirit.

'Sai...' He thought that Sai definitely can hear.

"Hikaru... Thank Kami, just fight on! " Sai said in mixed of desperation and sadness.

Hikaru smile and close his eyes...

For the last time....

Sai found himself to this peaceful place. He look around. His eyes widen to see Hikaru not far from him.

"Hikaru... " He said

"Sai" Hikaru said as tears started to fall from his eyes.

"It's alright, nothing of this is your fault" Sai said assuring his dear friend and hug him.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry,  I'm sorry"

"Sai continued to hug Hikaru without saying anything.

Slowly Hikaru calm down.

"Sai?"

"Mmm?"

"Are you up for one round of GO" Hikaru ask.

"Of course"

"Don't hold back on me alright"

And the two play the last game they might play together.

"I lost" Hikaru said smiling. And Sai look at him smiling but with sadness in his eyes. He doesn't know if he was happy because Hikaru will be free and will not suffer anymore or he was sad as he once again bid farewell to a wonderful friend, maybe he also afraid to be once again alone in that darkness.

"Sai" Hikaru called to take Sai attention. "I've decided, I'll give my body to you" Hikaru said now with genuine smile on his face.

This make Sai choke to his word "w... What! Hikaru what do you mean by that!?"

"My time's done and I think you know what does it mean right Sai?" "But I could never take something that doesn't mine" "you're not taking anything. I'm giving it to you!" "That's the same thing your body is not mine" the two started bickering to each other.

"Pfftt hahahhaahaa Sai you really are persistent" "I could say the same thing for you my dear friend" Sai said huffing.

There was silence while Hikaru continue to observe Sai now using his fan hiding his face.

"Sai listen to me, please look at me" Sai look slowly to Hikaru with sadness.

"I couldn't do it anymore Sai, I'm even thankful that I got to live this long, of course I always wish and hope but it's just a wishful thinking.... And now I started to realize that maybe that's why I met you and beside I can't just let you go back to that dark Goban alone and wait for another.... What a thousand year? " Hikaru said.

"But..."

"Come on Sai, live my life, you can use my body however you want and I know with your skill both of our dream will come true" then Hikaru stop and put his finger under his chin, in thinking position.

"Now that I think of it, it kinda selfish of me and it unfair since your going to be the one living, going to experience a lot of hardship and the one playing and I'm only giving my body in exchange"

"What! that's not my point just the fact your asking me to live is never in my thousands of years existing will ever happen" Sai said

then Hikaru smile "Does that mean you accept?"

Sai became silent

..

"Are you sure, Once I take your body, there's no turning back. My soul will be permanently bound to your body" Hikaru nod.

Sai slowly started to cry as he kneel down hiding his face with his fan. Hikaru slowly approach him and gently move the fan as he see Sai face. And touch his cheeks to swipe the tears

"Crying is not suitable to your face. I prefer your beautiful smile" Sai chuckle.

"Sai, I said that you can live as me but remember you might have my face, my voice, my body, I could never change the fact that you are Fujiwara no Sai. Use my body however you want. My life is yours now. Don't forget who you really are and I'm lucky and happy to have met a friend like you"

"To a ten year old, you talk like an old man" Sai said.

"Haha am I?" Hikaru said.

"I promise Hikaru, your dreams is now also my dream"

"And so am I"

The boy in the bed who's been trying to resuscitate by the doctor for whole 6 minutes open his eyes as a single tears slide down his eyes.

This is the story how Hikaru Shindou and Fujiwara no Sai became the greatest GO Player in world. And the only person who achieve the legendary "divine move".

Hello welcome to this new ff, some of you might already know about this anime/manga but all I know is that Hikaru no Go anime is one of the underrated sport anime and manga.

I want you all to know that I don't really know how to play GO. I'm only writing it the way I understand the game from watching the anime.

This is an experimental chapter. It means that, it will depend on your esponse from this prologue if I will continue to write the story so there will be no fix update schedule since it's not sure.

Thanky you all for supporting my other stories. I still have a lot of drafts and stories I want to publish but I just couldn't finish all of them faster as I need a lot of motivation and I'm busy writing my research paper(thesis). I just couldn't publish them and in the middle stop and discontinued them as I know the pain of reading in cliffhanger.

I just have this idea as a re-watch this anime and the idea is keep popping on my head. So kinda try to write this one chapter.
