Azure Nights

Thanatos poured me a glass of sherry.

I took it from his hand as he watched me gulp it down in one go. My nerves were shot and my heat was growing.

There was no point in denying the fact that he hadn't asked me to stay for just a drink.

He took the glass from my hand and recklessly tossed it onto the table behind him. I was surprised when it didn't break, and normally, I would've said something to him, but I couldn't speak as his eyes were glued to mine. He scooped me up in his arms and forced his mouth onto mine with a growl- the wait too long to bear anymore...

I wrapped my arms around his neck and danced my tongue forward to meet his.

Thanatos' heavy build pushed me down onto the ground and soon we were lying intertwined on the plush crimson carpet; neither of us had the patience to move to his bed. My nude-coloured dress raked up higher, exposing my legs. I quickly wrapped them around his torso as he pressed himself up against me.

The fire burning next to us crackled and danced as if being fuelled by our growing passion.

Thanatos hastily tried to undo the knot that held together my dress. I ran my hands down his back and towards his leather belt and swiftly ripped out his black shirt, tugging it up. He straightened his back and impatiently pulled his shirt over his head; leaving his thick hair messy and wild. He looked like a lion.

I growled and licked my tongue up his chest.

How does he make me act this way?

Thanatos grabbed the back of my head and I could hear his breath hitch. He pushed my face into his chest and clenched his thighs tighter around my hips.

"You drive me mad..." His voice was raspy, leaving me hungry for more.

I ran my hands up his rippled sides until I reached those ink-black claws on his hip and watched as the hair on his arms stood up in pleasure. Thanatos let go of my head and pushed me down onto the carpet as he fumbled with the knot again. He growled and began ripping at the material. I tried to stop his hands; "Wait- I like this one!"

"I'll get you another!" He said and I heard the thin fabric tear. There was no use reasoning with him when he was like this.

I felt his mouth clasp around my hard peaks and a loud moan left my mouth. His hips moved in usion with my mine as we rocked back and forth. The fire in my stomach raged.

"Thanatos!"

He lifted his head and lunged back down to my neck. His teeth were sharp and a painful, but I loved the feeling of them scrapping against my skin- leaving marks.

I ran my nails across his back as I felt his erection press into my heat- over and over; leaving me breathless and frustrated. Thanatos quickened his pace; his hips moving doubly as fast and with purpose. We moaned as my breasts pressed against his naked chest.

"Is this good?" He asked as he moved his hips in a circular motion. I nodded my head; my voice had decided to leave me.

"Faster? Harder?" His voice was raw.

I nodded; unable to speak as my breathing accelerated.

Thanatos thrusted his hips down harder and with more haste. I pushed my head back as he hovered over me with his hands on either side of my head. I clasped onto the rug with both hands and turned my head the side to bite down onto his wrist next to my face. His hands were clenched onto the carpet with considerable force as he tried to restrain himself.

He rode me for quite some time until I could feel the heat in between my spread legs topple over. I screamed out and pulled him down onto me to feel his weight against my entire body. Thanatos moaned as I came for him.

"Yes, angel..."

"Keep going..." I begged as his movement became smoother and more pressured on one area.

"Oh, I'm not stopping anytime soon..."

I moaned at his words; they were fueled by his addictive gaze running down my body in forceful appreciation. Thanatos rode me until the glass ceiling filled with bright stars and broke into tiny, glorious pieces. I could feel my body grow limp and tired as I rode out my orgasm.

But he kept going. I tried to move my hands down to his pants to take them off, but he grabbed them and pushed them to the back of my head.

"No time." His voice was ragged; his breathing hard and laboured. Sweat glistened on his forehead. "Just say my name..."

I gladly obliged as he continued to drive himself to the edge on my numb body; the mere friction and sensation of us finally together like this more than enough to sweep us right off of our feet.

Thanatos shouted out my name like it was the only thing that mattered in his entire world; "Aurora!"

I bit my lip as I watched his face contort and his muscles pop with strain as he shattered above me. The mere sight of him, so vulnerable and quaking, sending me back into a state of rapture.

He was mine.

His body only reacted to mine now and I felt a surge of power engulf me in pure bliss as he collapsed on top of me; his breathing loud and ragged.

"Aurora..." He whispered as he rested his limp head on my chest. I could still taste him on my tongue mixed with the sherry and some hints of whiskey. My breathing was slow now, whereas his was still fast and hard.

We just laid there, in content, as he listened to my heartbeat and I stared up at the dark sky through the glass dome. The fire crackled and fluttered like my heart.

After some time just savouring the moment, I spoke up; breaking the sensual silence. "That's some really good sherry..." I was still partially out of breath as I ran my fingers through his black hair.

Thanatos laughed breathlessly; "Only the best for you..."

I smiled up at the stars.

I was so happy, I couldn't contain it. I didn't want to.

Thanatos slowly lifted himself up, but I wanted to pull him back as the warmth of his sweaty body left mine. He was staring down at me with his lips parted slightly and his red eyes full of wonder... and something else.

Adoration?

He tenderly touched my cheek with his fingers; grazing a path down my face as his eyes lovingly bore into mine.

He wasn't a monster after all...

Not even slightly.

I closed my eyes and leaned my face into his open palm as I lifted my hand to his cheek. He sighed quietly and leaned down again to lie next to me on the woolly carpet, but he kept his hand on my cheek as I turned towards him and cradled myself into his chest. Thanatos snaked his arm around my waist and pressed himself against me; his lips on my forehead as he trailed tender pecks down to my nose.

"I wish I could stay here, with you..."

Thanatos sighed sadly; "Me too, my angel. I wish I could keep you in my arms forever."

I ran the back of my hand over his soft, tanned skin. He closed his eyes in bliss at the feeling. I watched as the shadows of my hand played over his cheek- he was astoundingly beautiful. It wasn't natural for one man to be so perfectly striking.

"Tell me a story..."

Thanatos opened his eyes slightly and a broad smile appeared on his lips; "Which one would you like to hear, beautiful?"

I smiled softly; "Surprise me..."

A chuckle escaped his lips and he closed his eyes again as my hand continued to softly graze across his face. The room was comfortably quiet; the crackle of the fire the only noise to keep us company.

This was odd- our relationship had flipped upside down right before our eyes; without warning. I wasn't complaining, though...

"What about Sleeping Beauty?" He said as he tucked a stray hair behind my ear. I grinned; my smile full of happiness.

"And how is this version being twisted, hmm? Does she get pricked by something other than a spinning wheel?"

Thanatos laughed breathlessly as he intertwined his feet with mine; "Not exactly..." suddenly his eyes were serious and his hand ran across my bare arm. I shivered.

"You're so beautiful."

My breath hitched. Never mind- our relationship wasn't flipped upside down; it was finally right-side up.

"You have no idea what story to make up, do you?" I asked jokingly, but his face remained serious.

"Who cares about that, Aurora. I just want to look at you and not have to think about how I can't touch you, feel you... I don't want to have to think about how we can't even joke together without arousing suspicion."

I felt my heart contract at his sincere words. His sad eyes showed a hint of anger.

"Thanatos..." I started to say, but I didn't really know what to tell him. I felt the same, but there was nothing we could do.

"I want to take you away."

I bit my lip at his words. He was deadly serious. "Let's go visit your parents. Let me take you away from here for a bit."

I gulped knowing he would do it. He would do anything I asked. I shook my head thinking about all the reason why I couldn't leave right now.

"I have training and what would I tell them? I only have my holiday in about a month from now."

"I'll put a light spell on them, and I could tell Conrad that-"

"No." I said softly. Thanatos was silently panicking now. "I need to stay here a while longer. But when the holiday comes, we can go down to Caneyville."

Thanatos nodded and dropped his eyes down to my neck. I pushed my face up close to his, bringing his eyes back up to mine, and smiled reassuringly; "You will come with me, right?"

"You wouldn't be able to keep me away..." His lips rushed towards mine.

Our kiss was forceful, exerting all the energy we had left in our bodies. I could feel the desperation in his lips- raw and unfamiliar from such a composed creature.

We broke apart with a jolt as our eyes met and I felt the entire universe dissolve into the background.

I'm in love.

My heart stopped.

I'm in love with Death.

And the ball drops- Aurora's realised her feelings, but how long before Thanatos does? Hmm...
