Dorothy Darlington, known as Dory, felt an attraction to the female gender from the beginning of her freshman year. The first time she saw the most popular girl in school, Lydia Martin, she had fallen in love. Dory, soon became friends with Scott McCall and Stiles Stilinski, two other outcasts at Beacon Hills High School.

The night before sophomore year began, Stiles forced both Dory and Scott to go into the woods with him to find a missing half of a dead body. Stiles and Dory were caught by the sheriff, Stiles's own father, leaving Scott alone in the woods. Scott ended up finding the dead body, losing his inhaler and getting bitten by a wolf in the process.

The morning after, the first day of sophomore year, Scott fell in love with the new girl, who's name was Allison Argent. Lydia Martin had adopted Allison into her group of popular beautiful people. Scott's wolf bite had already healed, making both Dory and Scott suspicious. They began doing research and came up with a crazy idea that Scott was a werewolf.

Turns out, that crazy idea was true.

Scott had been turned by the alpha wolf, Peter Hale, who was the uncle to Derek Hale. Allison found out that her family was full of werewolf hunters, and that her boyfriend at the time, Scott, was a werewolf himself. Lydia, who was then Allison's best friend, was bitten by Peter, but for some reason the bite did not heal. Lydia was immune to the bite.

After killing multiple people, the group banded together, and Derek eventually killed Peter, becoming the alpha himself.

A few weeks after this, the group found out Lydia's past boyfriend, Jackson Whittemore had been turned into a werewolf, but didn't actually shift into a werewolf. This was caused by problems of his past. Jackson was shifting into a Kanima which looked like a giant lizard.

While Jackson was terrorizing the town, Derek had begun to build his pack of teenage werewolves. Scott refused to join his pack, so he turned outcasts. The three teenagers who became werewolves were Isaac Lahey, Erica Reyes, and Vernon Boyd who just went by Boyd.

In the end, Lydia saved Jackson, and he could finally turn into a full werewolf.

After this, a pack of only alphas came to Beacon Hills and captured both Boyd and Erica. When Isaac was looking for them, he got captured as well, but Isaac was eventually saved by a mercenary named Braeden.

Animals began to act strangely, and it was because a Druid who took the wrong path, called a Darach, was in Beacon Hills to destroy the alpha pack. The Darach was Beacon Hills' own English teacher, Jennifer Blake, who, at the time, was dating Derek Hale.

Jennifer Blake was killed by the leader of the alpha pack, Duecalian, after she killed every member of the alpha pack except for himself and the twins, Ethan and Aiden. Derek had given up his own alpha status to save his sister who was deathly ill. Through this, Scott had proven himself a superior werewolf, becoming a true alpha.

After Duecalian left Beacon Hills, Scott, Allison, and Stiles had a hard time getting back into their routine because they had sacrificed themselves to save their parents, but were brought back to life. All three were hallucinating. Allison was seeing her dead Aunt Kate, Scott could not control his shifts, and Stiles was never sure if he was awake or asleep. Scott was introduced to a new girl named Kira, who he thought was cute. Kira was a kitsune.

Stiles had become possessed by a Japanese Demon called the Nogitsune, and began to terrorize Scott and his pack. Scott ultimately defeated him, losing Allison Argent to one of the Nogitsune's fighters called the Oni.

A new girl, Malia, who had been trapped in the body of a coyote for nine years, joined their pack, and had immediately taken a liking to Stiles, since they had connected at Eichan House. Even Dory herself had gotten the girl she wanted. Through the years, Lydia and Dory had grown close, close enough for Lydia to fall in love with Dory.
