Serena Cesantio

I can say that today is one of the most excited day because it's my birthday. Yes.. I'm 29 years old and time flies so fast that I still can't believe that I'm this old. I'm so excited to see my friends and have fun together because I made a birthday party which is a simple dinner with only 100 people.

My family surprised me this morning with my favorite cheesecake and a beautiful necklace that my designed for me. I'm so thrilled to have the party tonight because it's been a long time since I've seen my friends.

Right on lunch time.. my goldlifes friends surprised me. They came into my house and surprised me with a puppy. It's a golden retriever puppy and it's just.. so cute that I cried receiving it.

Besides that.. I was hoping that Caleb will show up but he didn't. I heard about the robbery in Canada and I bet he's busy taking care of that. I just hope that he will come to my birthday party later on at night.

I thanked my friends for surprising me and they left to go back to work. I'm alone at my room with Cherry, yes I named my cute female golden with the name Cherry.

"Cherry.. do you think Caleb will come tonight?" I asked as I raised her up in the air. She just licked my face and I chuckled. I hugged her and kissed her.

"Serena, yo-" My mom stopped when she saw the puppy. She squealed as she walked inside to take the puppy.

"She's so beautiful, what's her name?"

"Cherry." I said and my mom looked at Cherry lovingly.

"Honey, you have to get ready. The hair and makeup team already here so.. get your ass to the shower." She said and I nodded. I jumped into the shower and quickly take a bath. I walked out with my robe and started to do my hair and makeup. I have Cherry on my lap and can't stop thinking will Caleb come to party? Because I'm dying to give him my answer.

I changed into my light grey dress and put on my highheels. I put my earrings and rings on, not to forget to sprayed some perfume. I checked on myself and I left my house with Cherry. When I arrived at the venue, I checked the venue and even the names on the table so there won't be any mistake.

When I was scanning the names, I stopped at Caleb's name. I looked at his table and even sat there hoping and praying that he will come. I looked down to see Cherry licking my feet seekinng for attention and I picked her up.

"Oh Cherry.. will he come?" I asked her again which is so stupid because dogs can't talk. I got up and it's time for my birthday party. My friends starting to come.. they're filling up the place and they even brought me a lot of presents which made me a little bit overwhelmed.

Everytime I talked to my friends, I glanced at Caleb's chair sometimes and he's still not there. From just looking at his chair, I looked at the door every 2 minutes hoping that he will appear.

My birthday party started 3 hours ago but still no signs of Caleb. I mean Isaac didn't come either but he texted me about it. He left for Canada to solve the issue but there's no news on Caleb. I say on my chair and looked blankly at the door. My friends tried to talk to me but my mind doesn't seem to connect and react to what my friends are saying so I ignored them a lot.

I know this is quite stupid to wait for Caleb only when a few of my friends can't come. It's quite ridiculous that I'm suppose to be happy today but I don't feel happy at all. I tried to smile and be hype, it's working for awhile but my mood fell again.

After 4 hours of talking and having fun, my friends are starting to leave one by one. When the clock hit 11 p.m, the place is empty but I'm still there waiting idiotly for Caleb. I heard from Athena that he left for Canada but a part of me still believe that he will come. Maybe he's late.. maybe he's on his way.. my brain starts to make things to convince me to stay there.

"Serena.. let's go." Zion said and I shook my head. He picked Cherry up and I gestured him to go first. He doesn't even need to ask me why because he knows about it.

"He won't come, Serena." Zion said and I just gestured him to go. I looked down to the ground and cried. I got up and sat on Caleb's chair. I took the card with his name on and looked at it blankly.

"Ms. Cesantio, it's 11 already. Should we go home?" My secretary asked and I shook my head as I wiped my tears. She left me alone but before she can go out from the room.. I asked her for a bottle of wine.

"Where is the wine?! Do you need to get in Africa or something?!" I bursted angrily.

"It's not a great idea if you're planning to get drunk on your birthday." My whole body froze and I turned my head slowly. Caleb was standing behind me raising his eyebrows.

"It's over." Even though I'm happy that he came but I'n still pissed that he didn't contact me that he will be late or somethings going on with him.

"Well.. if you say so." He said as he turned his body planning to leave but I grabbed his suit. He stopped and I sighed.

"I thought you won't come here." I said in a small voice.

"I have to come here.. to say goodbye." He said and that made me confuse.

"What? What do you mean?"

"I'm going back to Canada." That sentence enough to make me cry again. I grabbed onto his suit tightly and tears came out from my eyes.

"You can't! You said you won't go back to Canada!" I bursted angrily and stood up in front of him glaring while crying. Caleb showed me no emotions and he took a step back.

"Don't you want to hear the answer?" I asked as I wiped my tears.

"Serena, you're right. We will ne-"

"I still like you! I still love you! So please just.. don't leave me!" I bursted and I cried again. I kneeled down crying hard.

"Please.." I begged him and he held me to get up from the ground. He pulled me into a hug and I hugged him tightly clearly not wanting him to go anywhere.

"I'm going back to Canada to check on the robbery. I left my dad and brother to check it alone." He said and he chuckled lightly at the end. I calmed myself down and Caleb kissed the top of my head.

"You're mean."

"Sorry for coming so late.. The plane got delayed because of the storm in Canada." He said and I automaticly calmed my ass off.

"I thought you won't come." I said.

"Happy birthday, Serena. I love you." Even though it's just words but it was the best birthday present that I've ever received. It made my heart so happy and I just can't express it. I smiled big time in his arms.
