Thinking
Soldier X Reader
--------------------------------------
Another day, another workout for you and the other mercenaries. It was a sunny day with a light, gentle breeze. You and Scout were running a light sprint around the track field behind the base. Soldier, of course, was in the front yelling at both of you to keep up or move faster.
"You call that a sprint MAGGOTS!!!" Soldier yelled in his deep raspy voice. His gray eyes blocked by his helmet.
Of course, you and Scout could run way faster than the military man, but you two liked to piss him off, so every time he gave you a long boring lectured about how slow you two were going, you and Scout ran even slower. Oh, and did that piss Soldier off even more than before, he quickly turned on his heels and gave you the scary look through his helmet, (Like the one mom gives you when she's mad, like really, really mad). This caused a cold shiver to run up and down your spine. You heard Scout gulp from behind you, and you gave an unsure smile to the military man in front of you.
"Hehehe, sorry Soldier we'll get back to our sprints right away." You quivered in a shaky voice, but Soldier did not move he kept his icy glare on Scout and you. This, of course, made you feel small and weak all you wanted to do was climb under a rock and hide from that evil glare. "Umm... Soldier?" You asked your (e/c) eyes staring past him, as the gentle breeze swept through your (h/l) (h/c) hair.
"Scout start running Now!" Soldier barked his long, bulky finger pointing down the track. Scout gave a tremendous hustle at those words and instantly started down the track. You were about to catch up when Soldier death gripped your arm.
"W-what the Hell!" You hissed in pain trying to pull away, but failing. "Let go!" You yelled throwing a punch but was quickly countered by Soldier's other hand. Another hiss of pain left your lips as his grip became tighter around your arm.
You stared up at Soldier with a glare stronger than his, of course, he did not falter, nor look fazed at your attempted to stand your ground. Feeling hopeless your (e/c) eyes looked away from Soldier.
You knew better not to mess with him, you knew the consequences every time you pissed him off, you knew he would do this eventually, but why? Why would you do all of this, why do you want Soldier's attention so much?
All the questions that were bottling up inside seemed to churn in your stomach every time you tried to answer them. 'But why?' Was the real question. Why do you do the thing you do to try and get his attention so much, it's not like you love him or anything you just like to piss him off that's all, right? Right!?
"I'm sorry, now can you please let go." You spoke in a quiet voice your eyes still fixated on practically nothing. Fear and sadness washed over you when he didn't oblige. "I'll go back to my sprints, and this time, I'll be more serious." You whispered bowing your head.
"Pathetic. You give up to quick," Soldier spat harshly. Sadness washed over your eyes when he spat more cruel words to you. "Aw, is the little girl going to cry? Go on little girl cry like the little baby you are!" After Soldier said this something inside you snapped when he said 'little girl.' You've been called little girl before but the was way he said it, it made you furious. It was as if a volcano went off in your mind and was controlling your body.
The pain in your arm soon became numb, and you were sure it was the amends anger you were feeling coursing through your veins.
"Is the lit-" You interrupted Soldier with a kick to the no, no, square. The man fell back holding his crotch, pain painting his every expression. Your (e/c) eyes glared harder than they've ever glared before and you felt powerful standing over the pained Soldier.
"Don't you ever call me 'little girl' ever again!" You snapped, your hands clenched into fights. The breeze that swept through your hair became a strong wind. Your eyes did not falter from their fiery glare. "Now, if you excuse me I'm going to finish the sprints you interrupted Soldier." You made sure to hiss his name with a tremendous amount of poison in your voice.
It was the first time you ever saw Soldier flinch before and after snapping at him you felt kind of sorry, but you kept your head up and started your sprints. Your eyes glaring the whole time.

You finished your workout hours ago, and now you're huddled in the corner of your small room just thinking about what you did to Soldier.
'I kick a man where no man should be kicked!' You thought fiercely your hands light massaging your temple. 'He might not be able to have kids!' You exclaimed to yourself, 'what if I kicked him to hard?! ' you thought questioningly, worried for your friend 'I have to apologize, I could have killed him... if he's not already dead!' And with that thought you paled, but surly, a stubborn man like Soldier wouldn't die, right. "Well if he isn't dead I might as well apologize," you whisper to yourself.
It was almost as if you were stalling, like you were scared to apologize... No wait, you are scared to apologize. You took in a deep breath and slowly relaxed making your way to the white door in the front of your room.
'Here goes nothing,' you thought as you opened your door and slowly crept down the hallways of Two Fort.
Like a cat stalking its pray, you made no sound as you quickly sneaked past the crowded mess hall, the infirmary, and towards Soldier's room. Heavy's loud laugh made you jump a few feet in the air and fall to the ground. Your instincts kicked in once you hit the floor; quickly scrambled upright and scurried down the hall. You ran till you literally ran into Soldier's door with a thud.
"Uhh," you groaned, rubbing your head, "that was stupid of me..."
Shaking the dizziness out of your head you stood up and was about to knock when Soldier kicked down his door. The military man had his shovel ready to hit any intruder who dares disturb him from whatever he was doing in his own room.
You stood completely still your arms at your side, as your (e/c) eyes stared full of fear at the tall man in front of you. Letting out a soft breath pass your lips you were about to speak, but Soldier beat you to it.
"What you did was very, VERY Fubar!" Soldier growled. You bowed your head in shame and twiddled your fingers.
"Yes I know, and that's why I'm here," You paused choosing your words wisely, as your eyes wander to a blind corner. "I was dishonorable, and I'm very sorry for that. After training, all I did was regret my actions." You finished looking back at the military man. "I know you might not forgive me but..." You couldn't think of anything else to say. 'Worst apology ever!' Of course, you didn't say that out load you were kind of scared of Soldier. "So-sorry I'll leave."
Rubbing the nap of your neck you turned to leave, but a rough hand grabbed your wrist. 'Shit!' Panic started to run up and down your spine, and you were sure your skin was white. You turned around trying really hard to look not scared.
Your (e/c) pools stared up at Soldier ready for a punch or a headbutt, but it never came. Confused and a little startled you waited for the awkward silence to leave. Nothing, the silence stayed, and Soldier's rough hand was still holding your wrist.
"Um, Soldier?" You finally spoke, but Soldier said nothing and continued to stare down at you through his helmet, it almost felt like a fire was burning in your eyes. You finally had to look away from the intense stare, but the burning sensation was still as hot as before.
"You want me to forgive you right?" The Soldier asked, his voice was rough but smooth. You nodded, the blood in your ears was pumping, and your heart thumped against your chest, as Soldiers face became closer to yours.
Your face reddened, your mind raced, and your body became tense when the space between your lips was finally no more. 'What am... No what is he?' You couldn't think straight, and finally after being tense for so long, you finally gave in and melted into the kiss.
The passionate kiss lasted for a minute or so when the two of you finally broke for air. You looked away from Soldier and hide your flushed face behind your hands. A faint chuckle was heard from the Soldier, and your face became a deeper shade of crimson.
"Why are you laughing?" You questioned, peaking from behind your fingers this caused the Soldier to bark a deep rumbly laugh. You stared questioningly at the military man frowning your eyebrows, and when he didn't stop laughing you couldn't help but laugh with him.
Soldier whipped a few tear away and gave a few more chuckles before taking a deep breath. You did the same, but gave a happy sigh and small smile.
"S-Soldier?" You stuttered looking up at the large man. He looked down at you questioningly through his gray helmet. "I, I think I-I lo-love you." Your face was redder than a tomato when you said those word. You never wanted to admit it to yourself, but you really did love Soldier, you just never thought he would love you back.
You felt a relatively large hand pull you towards Soldier and into a hug. You took in the strangely scented cologne and hugged back. "I love you too cupcake."
