~Prologue~
Third Person POV
A young girl by the name of Erina Black was sighing a lot as she looked at her new room. She was only 6 years old and had found it hard that she had to move, not like she's had any friends back home but at least she was used to her surroundings and knew the language. Still her parents thought she could pick up the language fairly quickly seeing as she was a smart kid. The teachers had always called them to complain about how she kept correcting them. Her parents found it amusing but her classmates and teacher didn't. Because of this she was classified as a 'know it all' or a 'smart ass'. Most teachers despised her and her classmates never really talked to her, which wasn't a big problem for her seeing as it took some time for her to actually open up to someone.
"Erina!" Her mother called as she walked down stairs. The small girl got up from the bed and walked down the stairs to see where her mother was and why she called her.
"It's really nice to meet you." She heard her fathers voice.
"The pleasure is all mine, there's no need to worry we'll help you get accustomed to Japan in no time." A voice she didn't recognize said with an accent.
"Mom?" Erina said as she walked to the living room and stepped towards her mother, almost hiding behind her.
"Erina these are Kuniharu and Ayano Tezuka, they're our next door neighbors." Her mother, Raven, said smiling down at her daughter but Erina's eyes were on the new people and on the kid standing almost proudly and confidently next to his father.
"It's nice to meet you." She said with a bow. Given she didn't know Japanese and she sure didn't know all the costumes or foods but she did know some basic things from animes.
"You too Erina, this is our son Kunimitsu. Feel free to ask him questions of whatever you want to know." Kuniharu said introducing his son.
"My English isn't as good as my parents but I'll do my best to help you." Kunimitsu said as Erina tilted her head, his personality looked somewhat like her's but a little more.. confident? She always felt like an outcast so in return she never really talked to others too scared that they will have the wrong impression or hurt her somehow so she always looked for a way to hide, hence the long hair. However he didn't act like that, he acted somewhat confident and made his presence very much known but was still short and sharp with his words.
"Thank you.. would you mind if we start now? I have a lot of questions and I want to know at least something about traditions and language before I go to school." She said quietly.
"Of course." Kunimitsu answered as she nodded and tilted her head signaling him to follow.

"Mitsu!" Erina said with a pout at Kunimitsu who just smirked at her. They had just played another match of tennis and Kunimitsu won. They were about 11 years old almost 12 now, they had become great friends and Erina had really opened up to him. He had found it very different every time he recalled maybe the first year of them knowing each other, she was shy and very formal. Now she was pretty out going and smiley around him, she talked more to him and she started to trust him more.
"That was a good game." He said to her making her scoff, he wasn't lying. It was a good game, he always has more fun playing with her than anyone else and if he'd let up just a little she would've won.
"Hm, what school are you planning on going to for high school?" She asked him sighing and letting go of the fact she lost.
"I don't know yet." He said taking a seat on the bench as she took a seat net to him, it was almost sun set and they were still on the court. One of their parents would probably come soon to get them and tell them they shouldn't stay out so late.
"Hm.. I want to go to the same school you do, but if I'd have to choose a school. Why not Seigaku? I mean they have a good tennis team and the academics are suppose to be good." Erina said leaning her head back to look up at the sky.
"That's not a bad idea." He said copying her actions.
"Yeah, I could even become team manager and go to every one of your matches when you become a regular." Erina said smiling as she glanced at him and he did the same but instead of smiling his lips were slightly parted.
"Why not join the girls tennis team instead?" He asked her making her chuckle.
"Nah, that'll probably be boring plus girls know how to be mean and I'm not exactly one that's liked by girls a lot. I wouldn't even know what to do." She answered with a small giggle just as the wind blew on her hair making Kunimitsu blush at the sight.
"Hey Erina?" He said looking away causing her to look at him.
"We've known each other for a few years now." He started making Erina tilt her head confused as to why he'd bring that up. She looked at him studying his features blushing a bit herself, she had a crush on him after all, there was no denying it even her parents teased her about it.
"We have.." She said still cautious with her words, she wished he'd ask what she always wanted to hear from him.
"And.. well.." He was nervous and it was pretty evident.
"And?" She pushed, she really wanted to know. He took a deep breath before looking at her.
"I.. I'd like us to be more than friends." He said to her making her blink at how straight forward he said it, sure it shouldn't come as a surprise seeings as he's always pretty straight forward but this was a different topic.
"Like what?" She asked, she wanted to know she wasn't misreading the situation.
"Like.. a couple.." He said now blushing red. This was out of character for him which is why Erina smiled happy and kissed his cheek.
"I'd love to." She said with a small tint of red on her cheeks as she looked away from him surprising the poor boy with her actions but making him smile and return the kiss.
