Alex and Damian stayed over night at the dance studio. Damian of course texted his family and told them, but Alex's brother was used to her not coming home, and he wasnt even home himself, so he wouldn't have been worried.
In the middle of the night, right when they were about to start arguing on who was better at riddles for some reason, Ms.Peregrine opened the door to the practice room they were staying in and interrupted them

"I forgot to mention something to the both of you..."She nervously whispered to them

"Yeah?"Damian asked in confusion, he thought there wasn't anything else she needed to tell them.

"Its about the competition. I forgot to tell you that not only do you have to dance, but you also have to sing the song."Both of them widened their eyes as they stared in shock.

"B-but..its a DANCE competition"Alex stated

"Yes, but since we're not a FAMOUS dance studio, we have to get two challenges."Ms.P explained to them.

"Anything else?"Damian asked tirely, yawning and he finished his sentence.

"Well....."

"Are you serious?"Alex complained, she was tired from dancing all day.

"The competition changed schedule...its in two days..."Alex widened her eyes. The competition was originally a week away!How did it get changed so much?

"Okay okay, that..is fine....yeah"Alex sighed and flopped back down on her makeshift bed, which was in reality, just a puffy blanket as the sheet,another blanket and the actual blanket, and two pillows.

Damian has the same thing right next to hers. She made both of them because back when they were both 15, and got permission to sleep at the studio, Alex made all the makeshift beds and gained the title "Queen of Beds" which was a sort of play of the Queen Of Tens.

"I'm going to my home now. I'll lock the door when i get out of the studio. Wake up early and open it for me at about 6 in the morning."

Alex got her phone and checked the percentage, 87%. She set an alarm for 5 in the morning and then set another at 5:58.

She put her phone down and cuddled into her pillow, sighing in relief at the quietness.
She closed her eyes, but then found that she couldnt sleep.
So, she looked at Damian who was having the same problem.

"Hey"She whispered to him softly
"Why hello there...."He whispered back
"Do you wanna build a fort?"
"......sure....."he sluggishly got up from the 'bed'
She did the same and Damian pulled her up.
"The bed stuff is in the closet."She rubbed her eyes.

"Okay."He walked over to the closet and pulled it open,grabbing almost the whole stack of blankets and throwing them to Alex.

She caught them and placed them on the floor next to her, only to throw her hands up and catch a bunch of pillows.

"Is there any brooms or chairs in there?"She asked him

"Uh...yeah.Theres like six chairs."He got the chairs put and slid them over to Alex, just barely missing her toe.

"Careful."She warned him.

"Sorry?"He apologized, sounding more like a question at the end.
He closed the closet and skidded over to her.

"I'll make the fort but you can help in some places if you see a mistake."Alex said, already stacking two chairs on eachother and then putting it in a random spot.
She did that again and put it next to the other one, but forward more.
Then she did it again and put it across from the second pair of chairs.
She laid one huge blanket over those chairs and then got some smaller blankets,
placing them in spots that showed light.
She got three pillows, putting one each on the top of the chairs that had the blanket on it.
She looked inside the fort, seeing if the inside was too small. It was big enough.

"Done."She told Damian

Damian slid the makeshift beds into the fort and crawled into his bed.

Alex started following him but then stopped and walked over to her bag.

"What are you doing?"Damian asked

"Something very important."She stated seriously. She dragged her bag in the middle of the beds and got in hers.

"Food."She unzipped the bag and showed a bunch of snacks, including chips, cheese its, some candy, ect.

"Im ALWAYS prepared."

"Of course you are....."He sighed and got an apple out.

"Apples are amazing okay?"She defended her choice and Damian looked over to her...only to see her almost done with an apple.

"Cheese itz are better though"

"Your lactose intolerant"

"Oh i know."

"Then why would you eat it...?"

"BecaUSE THEIR AMAZIIINNNGG"
