Author's  Note: Sorry this chapter is kind of short. I'll update sooner though. Enjoy!

-Three Years Later-

"I've heard that the testing building is huge and covered in ivy." My best friend since Grade 0, Ingrid, said.

"I've heard the teachers only teach like, one class a day." My other close friend, Jasper, said.

We're on a train talking about what Testing might be like once we're there. We're all 15, almost 16, except Ingrid who turned 16 yesterday.

We're quiet for a moment trying to think of other rumors to share until my brother speaks up, "I've heard that in the night, all the students go to bed." He says his voice is low and quiet like he's telling a horror story. "And when all the lights are off and all the teachers are in bed. The students."

He paused for effect.

"Go to sleep!" He yelled, trying to make it seem like the big scary part of a horror movie.

I rolled my eyes while Ingrid giggled. "Ha, ha, ha. Very funny Caleb." Jasper says.

"What? I thought it was funny!" Caleb argues.

"You always think you're funny." I point out.

He shrugs. "And am I wrong?"

"Yes!" I answer him.

Our teasing is cut short by a man coming over the intercom. "Hello ladies and gentlemen. This is your conductor speaking. I regret to inform you that we are reaching the Capitol, we will be there in 20 minutes. Thank you for using The Intercontinental Railroad and we hope you have a safe journey."

The whole car went silent. There was 8 others, not include me, Caleb, Jasper or Ingrid and we were all as different as anything but in that moment we all felt the same thing, nerves. What would the Testing bring? Would the teachers be nice? What about the other students? Caleb broke the silence by suggesting a game. Pretty soon the kids were clustered around me and Ingrid as we battled it out in a card game.

We lost track of the time and we're surprised when the train stopped. "ALL ABOARD FOR THE CAPITOL" the conductor cried.

We grabbed our bags readied ourselves for Testing. A little nervous, a little excited but mostly curious about how our world would change.
