20 - I Hope
I decide that I have to find a way out of here, fast. I can't stay here hoping that I will magically get out.
Based on what I know about different parts of the building, I am assuming that everywhere in each part is connected. It seems that there are many different parts, as I have been to three, this one being my third.
If that is true, then I should find a way to everywhere else in this area.
I walk around the lounge, and I find a door that I had never opened before. I guess it had always been there, such as the door in the mess hall, but no one ever entered it. It just seemed like a door... I wasn't supposed to enter.
I slowly push the door open, and I feel like I am doing something wrong. I don't know why.
Once I have pushed the door open, there is a hallway. This time the hallway doesn't start right after I open the door.
I decide to go left.
I walk left, and I see two doors right next to teach other. I push the doors open, and I find myself in a room with a few lights. There are also shelves all around, filled with something. I don't know what is on the shelves.
I pick up one of the items on the shelf, and inside I find words, like on the box of the games. I don't know what any of this means, and there is a lot more on here than there is on the box of the games I play.
I could never read the words on the box of the games, so it makes sense that I can't read this. Paul said he would teach me how to read... he never did. Doesn't matter, he is just like the scientists. Evil.
On the box of the games, I could guess what it said, but I can't guess what this says. The box of the games I would play also showed a picture that related to the game, so I could get the general idea of what it said.
I look at a few other of the objects on the shelves. The other objects also have words inside. All of these objects look similar on the outside.
This whole room is filled with the objects on the shelves, so I leave as it doesn't seem to be any use to me. Before I leave, I pick up the syringe and bottles that I had put on the ground to look at the objects.
I start walking left, the direction of the door that goes into here. I go past the door in hope to find something useful.
It starts to get darker, and I am tired of holding the syringe and bottles. I continue to hold them anyway, as I would have nowhere to put them.
I eventually see another light. This one is flickering as well. It doesn't flicker as often though.
I eventually find myself in front of a wall. The wall then opens up.
Should I go through? Remember what happened last time... I'll do it. I'll take the risk. It could help me get out.
I walk through, and the wall closes back up soon after. I then turn around, and walk back to the wall. It opens up again.
I turn back around, as I want to continue on. I continue to walk, eventually passing by rooms. I go in one of the rooms, and they look the same as the room that I sleep in. Maybe this is where the watchers go to sleep...
Eventually, I find myself in a big lit up room...? If I continue on forward, I will be going down another hallway. There is a transporter in here. I also see another hallway, that I am assuming goes to more transporters. There is also a door here. The door resembles the door into testing.
This looks like the outside of testing... I think it might be.
I run over to the door, and I put the syringe and bottle down. I try to open the door that looks like the testing door, but it doesn't open.
Ugh... I guess I can't get in. Maybe only protectors can open it...
I pick the syringe and bottle back up, and I notice that the hallway across from the hallway I was just going down isn't that long. Can't go anywhere by going down that hallway... I can already see the end.
I try getting in the transporter that I can see, but it doesn't work.
I then go to the other transporters down the really short hallway next to the transporter. Those don't work either.
Ugh!
I'm sure there has to be a transporter where it seems that the watchers sleep... I guess I will try there.
I start walking over there, when I realize that I will have to make a plan.
Once I get back... what will I do? My friends will be wondering where I went... The scientists could be looking for me... The watchers would wonder where I went...
I stop to look at the bottles. When I look at them, it says what it is. There is also something that I can touch that reads out loud what the bottle is.
I touch all of them, one by one.
The bottles are sleep, full (no longer hungry), knock out, confusion, confusion (forget past week, takes 15 minutes to go into effect), sleep/knock out v2, control (for 20 minutes).
I put them back into the bag I was using to carry them, and I put the syringe in there as well.
I then continue to walk to what seems to be the watcher's rooms.
As I walk, I realize that I have to work on my plan.
Maybe I will use the syringe on everyone... The confusion one. There seems to be enough, and the bottles are a decent size with there being more than one of each. Which confusion one though? Hmm... Probably the one for forgetting the past week. It seems like it would be more useful.
When I reach where what seems to be the watcher's rooms, I am tired out. I sit on the ground for a while before trying to get into the transporter I see down the hall.
Later, I get up. I go over to the transporter, but I find that I cannot get into this one either.
I should try the other transporters in the lounge... I only tried one of them.
I slowly walk to the lounge even though I want to try the other transporters quickly. I am still tired out.
Once I reach the lounge, I put the syringe and bottles down. I go over to the other transporters, but those don't work either.
I slowly sit down on a chair next to the bag with the syringe and bottles, feeling sad. I start to feel the wet come down my cheeks, but I wipe them away this time. Why? Why? Now I'll never get out of here! I can't believe I've made it this far. I hope to make it farther, but I don't think I will.
I think back to my first friend. Not the scientist or Paul—I can't consider them friends as I can't trust them—but the friend that betrayed me.
"Hello," I had said to the person next to me.
"Hello," she had replied.
"Could we be friends?"
"Friends? NO WAY!" she had replied in a tone that she obviously didn't want to be friends.
"Why?"
"Sure. We can be friends. Of course we can," they say.
"Yay!"
She gives me a weird look.
"Yeah, whatever."
I think back to when she left me.
"You are an idiot," she had said.
"An idiot? What's that?" I asked as I didn't know what it was at the time.
"You are an idiot for trying to make friends with me," she replies.
"An idiot is trying to make friends with someone?" I ask.
"No!" she yells.
"Then what is an idiot?"
"Someone who doesn't know anything. And you wouldn't know what, since you're an idiot!" she laughs.
I remember being very confused.
"We're still friends... right? Everything is normal, right?" I had asked.
"No, we are not friends! Did you just hear what I just said?!" she had said to me.
"That I know nothing for trying to make friends with you?"
"Exactly. That's the first reason. You couldn't even tell that I didn't want to be friends. The second reason is what you know. You don't even know what a game is! You don't even know why some of the transporters don't go to testing. I bet you're not even new."
I remember that I didn't believe it all at first.
"Why are you doing this? I thought we were friends," I had said.
"I only pretended to be your friend. I never wanted to be your friend in the first place. You were taken advantage of," she had said to me.
"I was taken advantage of?"
"You don't even know what that is?" she says laughing.
"Why are you laughing?"
"It's so funny!" she says unable to control her laughing.
Looking back now, I realize what an idiot I was. I will have to get my revenge, somehow...
"Why are you doing all of this? You still want to be my friend, right?" I had asked worriedly.
"You've won the idiot award. I told you that I never wanted to be friends in the first place, remember?" she had said to me.
"Oh."
"That's all you have to say to me? Oh? I never realized how little you actually know."
I had heard an announcement that we all had to go to our rooms.
I had gotten up to go but she had stopped me.
"You going to your room? I bet you've been made to be someone who just follows orders. Don't ever confront me again. I never wanted to be your friend," she says to me.
The last thing she said to me is what bothered me the most. She thought I was just someone made to follow orders... She doesn't know. She doesn't know. She will regret saying that one day.
I think back to when I met another friend.
"Hello," she had asked me.
"Hello," I had replied.
Later she asked me if I wanted to be her friend.
"Will you be my friend?" she had asked me.
"Yes," I had replied.
"Then what do you want to do friend?"
"I don't know."
"Let's just talk."
"Understood."
"How are you?"
"I am good. What about you?" I had asked.
"I am well. I want to get to know you more. What is your favorite color?" she had asked me.
"My favorite color is purple."
"My favorite color is purple as well."
We just had a casual conversation...
"Have you made any friends?" she had asked me.
"Yes. I have made friends with 4 people," I had replied.
I was an idiot to think I was friends with Paul and the scientist...
I remember making another friend.
"We are friends, why are you acting like we aren't?" I had asked him.
"I don't know you," he had replied.
"We made friends recently, remember? You asked me if you wanted to be friends. You said you had theories," I had said.
Eventually he said that everyone acted as if he didn't exist...
"When did you ask everyone?" I had asked.
A really long time ago. Now it's like they don't even know I exist," he had replied.
I sit there, continuing to think about my friends.
I have to stop! I will find a way back! I can't be sitting here as if I will never see them again.
I realize something. There was one place I didn't check! The hallway that was across from the hallway that led me to outside of this area's testing!
I quickly pick up the bag with the syringe and the bottles, and I start running. I have to get there!
I quickly push open the door that led me to the outside of this area's testing, and I stop.
Which way had I went before? What was it? I don't want to waste time! It was left that led me to outside of this area's testing... right? It had to be.
I turn left, and I start running again. When I start to get tired, I start running even faster. The wall opens up right when I reach it, and I run right through not knowing when it closed.
I continue running, even though I am getting tired. I don't even realize where I am, and I just start running faster and faster.
I eventually see what looks like an open area, and I slow down. Soon I stop, and I see the transporter near me. I slowly run over to it, hoping that it will work.
Once I am in front of it, I find that I am able to get in it.
Yes! It works.
There are more buttons here than there are in the transporter I am usually in. Before trying to figure out where I should go, I get the syringe and bottles ready. Once that is read I look back at the buttons.
Where should I go? There are so many different places!
I press a button that shows an audio symbol. It speaks that the below buttons go to an area that will be for test subjects likely to be compatible or have been compatible for a while. It says that if any test subject is completed in programming, they will go here. I remember hearing scientists 136 and 112 talking about me being compatible from the start, so I touch the button for the lounge of this area.
The transporter starts to move, and I hope that I will be going to the right place.
