Miles and Wendy found themselves in the first unique world of the park, Wild West World. The sun rose over the dusty plains, and the bustling town came to life.
The wooden buildings lining Main Street began to stir, and the sounds of horses neighing, and wagons creaking filled the air.
At the heart of the town stood the sheriff's office and courthouse, a sturdy building with barred windows and a swinging wooden sign that creaked in the breeze. Next door was the jail, a small stone structure.
Further down the street, the saloons and general stores were already open for business, with patrons spilling out onto the boardwalks. The smell of whiskey and tobacco mingled with raucous laughter and the occasional gunshot.
Cowboys and ranchers rode into town to do business, while miners came to trade in their precious metals for goods and services. The town was a hub of activity and commerce, with people from all walks of life converging on its dusty streets.
Miles and Wendy ran up to the Sheriff who sat horseback.
Miles tried to get him to listen. "You gotta help us! There's something wrong with the park!"
The sheriff responded with a kind, country accent. "Well, Howdy, and welcome to Drought Gulch! They's fancy duds, partners! Would you like me to show you around town?"
Wendy pulled Miles away. "He's not real. None of them are."
He couldn't wrap his head around this situation. "This is insane. People aren't going to kill each other. We just need to lie low and wait this out."
Wendy replied sarcastically. "Yeah, this has to be some kind of reality show; I bet those were actors who ran for the gate and hit the floor, shitting their pants. OH, and they took our phones JUST to mess with us."
Miles checked his pocket, realizing for the first time he could not contact the outside world.
He didn't panic, instead Miles decided to strategize. "First things first. If there is only a little food and water, it must be spread throughout the park. We must collect as much as possible and find a hiding place. There are a thousand acres to cover; let's keep moving."
He decided at that moment to treat this experience like one of his survival games. The two noticed a flood of people who had begun exploring the wild west world. Every entrant was frantically searching for and gathering supplies.
It was like the gold rush, as people raced for resources. Some stole horses, food, and guns right from the simulated folk. Others raided the tiny businesses of the town instead, or whatever else they could find.
Miles came to an urgent realization. "We should go to the other worlds first; this place will be empty soon. I don't want to see what happens if any fighting starts."
Wendy agreed, and the two made their way to the outskirts of town, but found a barn still full of supplies. They couldn't believe their luck.
Miles and Wendy found Four horses, multiple changes of clothes, numerous days' worth of canned food and water bottles, not to mention a six-shooter pistol with thirty rounds.
Wendy sounded curious about the gun. "Does it... work?"
Miles wasn't sure, so he slowly pointed it at the wall and pulled the trigger. A bullet ripped through the wood, allowing a sliver of light to shine into the barn.
"Jesus Christ, these are real."
Suddenly there was a knock on the barn door. Miles aimed the sixshooter and called out.
"Open the door slow; keep your hands up."
The door opened, and Rat-Face shakily stepped inside.
His face went pale seeing the barrel of the gun pointed at him. "Don't shoot! I come in peace! I was hoping maybe you guys would let me come with you."
Miles scoffed at him. "Why the hell would we group up with you?"
"After I went to grab that corn dog, Beck ditched me; you guys are the only ones who know how big of a dick he is. So, please? I'm really sorry. But."
Ratface began to cry. "I'm terrified, and I don't want to be alone."
Wendy went over to comfort Ratface with a hug after seeing this display of vulnerability.
Miles sighed. "Dammit. Whatever I guess it's fine just stop crying. You can come with us."
